[Bug 472883] Re: Philips VOIP080 USB Skypephone not detected
OK, I've come back to this and now my Skypephone works with kernel 2.6.31-15. Once I've plugged in my Skypephone what I have to do is click on the speaker icon on the top panel and select the Philips VOIP Skypephone as the sound device for Input and Output and also turn up the volume for each. I can then successfully make a call. Within the Skype Options screen, the only device available is Pulse Audio Server but that's OK. [Bug 472883] [NEW] Philips VOIP080 USB Skypephone not detected
Public bug reported: I am using Karmic 9.10. This is a regression in hardware detection. I don't know which package is involved, possibly hal? I plugged in my Philips Skypephone into a USB slot. What happens usually (in Intrepid and Jaunty) is that the phone is detected and an icon appears on the desktop. Also, when I open Nautilus File Browser the phone is visible as a drive. I can then open up Skype and select the Philips Skypephone as my Sound Device. This did not happen in Karmic - no icon appears, it does not appear in Nautilus and I can't find it as an option when I open up Skype. The device appears in lsusb and dmesg. This is an important issue for me, I may reinstall Intrepid because I need my cheap Skype phone calls and I don't want to have to buy another Skypephone or headset. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Philips VOIP080 USB Skypephone not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/472883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 407835] [NEW] New Wave theme: text whited out in Evolution Preferences screen
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution New Wave is a system theme in Karmic Koala 9.10. When using Evolution, the text in the Mail Preferences dialog box is whited out and unreadable using this theme (see attached screenshot). Steps to reproduce: 1. Select New Wave as desktop theme. 2. Open Evolution. 3. Select Edit/Preferences, then Mail Preferences. All of the text under each of the tabs is incorrectly coloured. This may not seem technically to be high priority but if unfixed is guaranteed to draw bad publicity for Ubuntu after release, in the press reviews. This appears to be a different bug to the gnome-color-chooser bug already reported about Evolution. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: desktop evolution new theme wave -- New Wave theme: text whited out in Evolution Preferences screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407835 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
