[Bug 733349] Re: Minimize Application's Windows upon clicking its Launcher Icon

2013-06-16 Thread entonjackson
By the way. Is there a topic in launchpad that is more controversal than this
one? I don't think so.
Maybe it would be a good decision by Canonical to react appropriately before
someone's starting some kind of shitstorm...

[Bug 733349] Re: Minimize Application's Windows upon clicking its Launcher Icon

2012-10-30 Thread entonjackson
The problem is the spreading of the windows when clicking twice on an icon.
This feature btw i don't like anyway.
I would rather like to have Aero-like preview Thumbnails from which i can
choose to bring one to the front or close etc.
Then we wouldn't have complications with the spread feature, which isn't so
efficient anyway.

[Bug 919985] Re: Middle-Mouse clicks executed several times

2012-01-25 Thread entonjackson
** Description changed:

I'm using Precise Pangolin 64bit and since this version, when i do middle
mouse clicks, it's executed several times.
sometimes one click does 2, 3, or even 4 clicks.

I don't think this defect is generated by my mouse, because in oneiric (2
days ago) there was no problem.
I have Microsoft Notebook Mouse 5000

I don't know, if this is affecting 32bit version of precise as well. And
i actually don't know if this is the right package (xserver-xorg-input-
  evdev) to report this bug.

  Steps to reproduce:

  Text-Editor Example:
  1. Mark some text somewhere
  2. open text editor like gedit
  3. press middle mouse inside gedit
  4. text is pasted several times

  Webbrowser Example:
  1. Open chromium-browser
  2. do a middle mouse click on a hyperlink
  3. 2 or more tabs are opened for this link
+
+
+ It could be also affecting bluez package. Because the Mouse mentioned above,
is a bluetooth mouse.

[Bug 741603] Re: Window buttons disappear on maximized windows by changing focus to another maximised window on multi-monitor setups

2012-01-08 Thread entonjackson
This is IMO one of the biggest problems of Unity! It's a Design and Usability
Bug.
It should be solved ASAP! It makes the workflow stuck. In Windows, this is a
great advantage, you kann close every window, that is seen on the screen,
because every window has its own control.

A simple alpha solution could be as follows...
Imagine a maximized window without focus.
and a non-maximized window, which has the focus.
Hovering over the top bar will give you this 2 things:
1. The menus of the focussed, non-maximized window (this is also how unity is
implemented at the moment)
2. The window controls for the maximized window (this is new)

On the first thought, this might be confusing, but on the second it's not bad i
think.
For sure it's a better solution, than it is right now...

[Bug 905902] [NEW] Changing wallpaper takes too much ressource

2011-12-18 Thread entonjackson
Public bug reported:

When i'm going to play games e.g. in Browser or native then i need to turn off
wallch before. Otherwise everytime Wallch is changing Wallpapers in the
background the games will slow down.
I use 1920x1200 Wallpapers only, maybe this could increase the problem, but i
think the fading effect, when wallpapers change (that is coming from nautilus)
should be optimised, so such performance problems won't occur anymore.

I'm using Ubuntu Oneiric 64bit with Unity3D.
It happens, playing Flash Games in Chromium, Chrome and Firefox.
It happens, playing Doom3.

Computer:
Processor: 2x Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9600 @ 2.80GHz
Memory: 8181MB
VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G96M [Quadro FX 770M] (rev a1)

[Bug 144276] Re: file chooser: cannot copy, cut, paste, drag&drop, rename, delete

2011-11-20 Thread entonjackson
I think this is a really important functionality.
No one can deny that she/he wanted to download a file, or open a file and
wanted to manage files or folders within that dialog at the same time.
Workflow then slowed down, because there needed to be opened nautilus first, to
do that...

[Bug 720424] Re: Can't access maximized window by clicking titlebar

2011-11-08 Thread entonjackson
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 716177 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716177

I think another big problem is, trying to minimize a maximized window while
another unmaximzed window has the focus.
This case occurs very often and makes the workflow much slower in Ubuntu than
in Windows or OS X.
E.g.: I have an open and maximized Chromium window in the background, while
working in nautilus (has focus). Now i want to minimize chromium. No chance.
Titlebar now belongs to nautilus. So one needs first to click somewhere into
the area of the maximized window or on the icon of the maximized program in the
launcher to access it. But in case of a webbrowser like chromium you then have
to be cautious about not clicking a link or whatever that could change the
content, what is not wanted.
Maybe as a first (and dirty) solution, the window control buttons should be
integrated into the title whenever a maximized window is open on this
workspace? This could at least give the chance to access the 3 most importent
window actions (close, minimize, maximize). And while hovering over these, the
title and menus fade to the ones of the maximized window.
Maybe this could be a first, dirty solution.

Fact is, it (this bug) makes working with Ubuntu much slower, because
you always have to check how to access maximized windows, before doing
something with them.

[Bug 12893] Re: Shouldn't put .Trash-$USER on removable devices

2011-11-01 Thread entonjackson
True.
I would at least suggest the way, that everyone can choose to have a trash or
not have a trash on removable devices.

If it's so hard to implement this, then at least ASK the user when ejecting, if
one wants to empty the trash.
Or... if the user wants to copy files on the removable device and there is not
enough space, because of the files in the trash, then ASK, if trash should be
opened.

i still have this problem, when having several windows of one program open and
one of them is minimized.
double click on the application in the launcher shows them all up, but the
minimized one is invisible.
in ccsm i've set up fixed launcher and smallest icon size, if this helps.
any suggestions?

2011-10-31 Thread entonjackson
Please!
I'm using Ubuntu for years now! This is on of the TOP5 Bugs to me overall on
Ubuntu.
It's not so bad to me, but telling people that are new to Ubuntu, that they
have to delete their files on their drives by pressing Shift+Del makes no fun.

Is it so hard to implement this? What is the reason, this is only on
"Whishlist"?

parallel to my bt mouse.

Really annoying bug!

[Bug 856164] [NEW] Fading out Notification when Text cursor is near to it

2011-09-22 Thread entonjackson
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I was editing some text in gedit today and marked some text in that place,
where a notification popped up.
I think it were nice if fading out the notification wouldn't only work if mouse
is near to it, but also the cursor.
I don't know what the effort is to implement that functionality, but maybe it's
a good idea,

[Bug 743861] Re: System freezes using Unity on IBM Thinkpad Z60m

I'm having random freezes on my Dell Vostro 1520 as well. I don't think it's a
intel-graphics driver problem, as ati and nvidia card users are experiencing
this problem as well.
hope this will be fixed sooner or later...

[Bug 778490] Re: Random logout after upgrading to Natty Narwhal 11.04

2011-06-06 Thread entonjackson
Full Ack!
Has absolutely nothing to do with Chromium or any Browser based on it.
As I already wrote, I had a logout after booting normally and only clicking on
"Appearance" inside the Dash Menu. Nothing else was started.
Stop debugging the Chrome Browser... it's not the cause!

2011-05-26 Thread entonjackson
today after i booted up natty 32bit, the look of the panel on the top was grey
like in windows 95. then i opened dash and entered appearance. after clicking
on appearance, it crashed again and logged me out.
This was the shortest time until logout on natty.

[Bug 745112] Re: [arrandale] desktop is messed up (goes black) when laptop is docked with two external 1920x1200 monitors (x86_64)

2011-05-12 Thread entonjackson
In Natty 32bit with Unity when I plug in a beamer, the beamer is recognized,
and you can see the panel at the top, but not the wallpaper, so the rest is
black. Putting windows via drag and drop to the beamers side makes me see the
grabbing hand cursor, but not the window itself. Changing Resolution on each
screen makes no difference.
Making a reboot, or having the beamer plugged in on booting up makes it work,
like it did in 10.10

I have Dell Vostro 1520 with an intel video card and the current drivers
installed.
Anybody has a solution?
