*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 532984 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532984 Also having this issue in Kubuntu Maverick 10.10 (KDE 4.5.1), usually just prior to the KDM appearing, but sometimes, it actually *stops* the startup, and the only way I can sort it is to power cycle and hope the next startup runs more smoothly.
