[Bug 646681] [NEW] Thunderbird font settings has no effect

2010-09-24 Thread hangya
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

[1] Ubuntu 10.04

[2] Thunderbird 3.0.8
  ==
  Installed: 3.0.8+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1
  Candidate: 3.0.8+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.0.8+build2+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 0
500 http://jp.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages
500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 3.0.4+nobinonly-0ubuntu4 0
500 http://jp.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages

[3] Edit Preferences Display Formatting Fonts
Settings has no effect on mails, tab/folder/menu names.
(well, it has effect on What's new in Thunderbird x! -like panes... )

[4] I expect visual changes follow my font settings.
System Preferences Appearances is not a solution.
I like reading my mails at 18px, and I prefer other fonts sizes for other
applications.
(e.g., small fonts for my gnome-panel )
I believe many users strongly disagree with this one font fits all
philosophy,
but even if it must stay with us, why leaving font setting options in
Thunderbird?
Highly misleading. It should be
   (a) either weeded out similarly to Check for updates option or
   (b) all font settings should be left alone
(personally prefer this latter solution).

[Bug 186448] Re: Firefox/Thunderbird Preferences Window too short

2008-05-04 Thread hangya
The same problem occurred with Thunderbird (2.0.0.14) on Vista Home Basic.
Parts of the Account Settings window is not visible, plus it is not resizable.

The problems over OS-es might be related.
(Although there is no such problem on the same machine with Ubuntu)

By the way is there a way to access the non-visible fields and buttons?
I would like to change my local folder - but the button for it is not visible
(and the field is not editable).

[Bug 110966] Re: Openoffice.org hangs refreshing UI with 100% CPU

2007-07-30 Thread hangya
The same bug.

Ubuntu 7.04 (Fiesty Fawn), OOO 2.2.
Using Impress, when trying to modify text fields, CPU goes up to 100%, system
hangs for a while, then CPU goes back to normal.
With one file only.
Reproducible.

Additional info:
I started the file under XP (SP2, OOO2.2), then reopened in Ubuntu (layout was
broken - not an issue here thogh).
I used fonts that are available only in XP I guess (SILDoulosIPA) - freezes
really for a while when trying to open text with many alien fonts.

I hope this helps.

I am sending the file... just in case
