I compiled the new driver as well. Now I can connect to both secured and unsecured. [Bug 61306] Re: performance issue in Edgy with i810 driver
I am still at a loss. I monitored the cpu utilization On dapper vs edgy when using glxgears. I have a Centrino Duo 2300. When running dapper live cd, the cpu (only one is detected by default) goes to 100% as I would suspect it. When running edgy, the cpus (it detects both by default), are running uneven, one cpu runs at about 2-4%, the other around 60% when running glxgears. -- performance issue in Edgy with i810 driver https://launchpad.net/bugs/61306 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 61306] performance issue in Edgy with i810 driver
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-i810 when using the i810 driver for the Intel i945 on a Dell Inspiron 1505 under Dapper I get about 1710 fps with the live cd without any config changes and no errors upon launching. When using Edgy (latest dist-upgrade) I only get about 850 fps. and an initial error libgl warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x5b. ** Affects: xserver-xorg-driver-i810 (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- performance issue in Edgy with i810 driver https://launchpad.net/bugs/61306 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 61306] Re: [Bug 61306] Re: performance issue in Edgy with i810 driver
Hi Daniel, I used glxgears -printfps to determine the fps. I noticed that TUX and googleearth are slow compared to dapper. As I understand it, I cannot turn off composite. [Bug 52142] Re: Screensaver does not work
Not to bug anybody, but it has been a month since KDE released the fix. It has been fixed in the new edgy release. However in the main LTS release it is still broken. Again, I am not complaining, but it seems to me that the LTS should come first before the development release. Can someone please look into this.
