[Bug 328429] [NEW] after installation keymap in virtual terminals not set

2009-02-12 Thread howlingmadhowie
Public bug reported:

hi. i just installed alpha 4 of jaunty and selected dvorak as my keymap
during the installation process and rebooted when the installation
completed. dvorak is now set as default under X, but in a virtual
terminal, the keymap is US.

the problem may be that when i run the following on my intrepid
partition

sudo grep -R "dvorak" /oldroot/etc/.

i get (among others) these lines:

./vga/libvga.config:# kbd_keymap /etc/vga/dvorak-us.keymap
./vga/dvorak-us.keymap:# Physical keyboard layout:
/usr/lib/kbd/keytables/dvorak.map.gz

but they are missing when i do the same in jaunty.

[Bug 14135] Re: Grub Install Failure

2007-12-18 Thread howlingmadhowie
i was having a similar problem with booting from a scsi drive. the
solution was to switch off support for INT 13 (LBA) in the SCSI BIOS
(see http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/grub-faq.html#q14)

Public bug reported:

times. Highlighting an item in a menu sometimes fails. If the menu is
too large for the screen, it cannot be scrolled. Some windows open with
invisible content (content can be displayed by moving to another

[Bug 65457] Re: [SRU] cinepaint has unmet dependencies

2007-02-16 Thread howlingmadhowie
i still have a problem installing cinepaint on 64bit edgy. it's not
terribly critical for me, but i just thought i'd let you know:

apt-get install cinepaint cinepaint-data

Die folgenden Pakete haben nichterfüllte Abhängigkeiten:
cinepaint: Hängt ab: libopenexr2c2 (>= 1.2.2) ist aber nicht installierbar
 Hängt ab: cinepaint-data (= 0.19-1-1build1) aber 0.20-1-2ubuntu0.1
soll installiert werden
