[Bug 1399116] [NEW] chromium-browser doesn't start anymore
Public bug reported: I downloaded som updates last night and after rebooting today, I can't start chromium anymore. When I start it from the cli, nothing appears yet one cpu is fully loaded. [Bug 1359296] [NEW] Shutting down OpenVPN before umount network shares causes 120 second timeout on shutdown
Public bug reported: I mount a few CIFS shares through a vpn - openvpn more specifically. E.g. cifs entry in /etc/fstab //vpn.domain.tld/Share/mnt/vpnShare cifs noauto,user,uid=1000,gid=1000,username=none,password=none,iocharset=utf8 0 0 (since I'm authenticated with vpn certs, I don't need username/password... cifs server only listens to vpn addresses). So, when I want to access the share then, I have a little bash script on my desktop that I can just run: #!/bin/bash mount /mnt/vpnShare That all works fine. However when I shut down, I have the problem that Kubuntu shuts down OpenVPN BEFORE it umounts that vpn-mounted share. So during shut down process it then tries to umount that share but because openvpn is already stopped, that share is unresponsive. That causes a 120 seconds timeout delay. I think before shutting down OpenVPN first shares mounted through the vpn should be umounted. ** Affects: util-linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359296 Title: Shutting down OpenVPN before umount network shares causes 120 second timeout on shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/1359296/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1264807] [NEW] Kubuntu 14.04 freezes after LightDM login
Public bug reported: I have re-setup my notebook with Kubuntu 14.04. I have an nVidia Optimus platform and hence wanting to try out kerne 3.12 with native switching support. Also the whole system is encrypted with LUKS/dm-crypt. At bootup I get nicely prompted for the LUKS key, I enter it and afterwords I end up at LightDM. I provide the password there and then the KDE screen appears on which different icons would appear within seconds. However the computer freezes at that point - or rather the display freezes. I tried to ctrl-alt-f2 but that didn't open a terminal. Upon suggestion, I then tried to ssh into the computer. That worked fine. So it seems there are graphic problems or something. In order to use that installation I currently use the Saucy kernel. While SSHing I made a backup of the whole /var/log folder. I don't know which of them are relevenat but I can provide them when asked. [Bug 1264813] [NEW] Manual partitioning and Encryption don't work on installation in 14.04
Public bug reported: I tried to make a new install of Kubuntu 14.04 Alpha 1. However I failed at setting up the partitions the way I want with encryption. I see that LVM is a good option but on a notebook with just 1 SDD on it you want to omit swap, you want to have custom size of /boot and put the rest into an encrypted root. Upon selection manual partitioning I first created a /boot partition with ext4 and 500MB space. After that I wanted to create the rest as encrypted root partition. However there's no way to actually configure then the encrypted partition as this was the case in the alternate installer on earlier version. I made according screenshots from a test run in VirtualBox: On Screenshot 1 you just define the size and the type On Screenshot 2 you get a first error message On Screenshot 3 you get a second error message Afterwards there's no way to put that partition to any use. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: Screenshots during installation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264813/+attachment/3937255/+files/encryption.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1264813 Title: Manual partitioning and Encryption don't work on installation in 14.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1264813/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
