Re: [Bug 253629] Re: Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu
If I restart the x session with ctrl + alt + backspace, and shutdown the system inside the login screen, the shutdown is correct and no halt on ever. the bug is in the gdm 2008/11/17 DoDoENT [EMAIL PROTECTED]: If you have ATI card and are using the proprietary fglrx driver, then you should do a full upgrade, because the fglrx from hardy's repository isn't compatible with the new kernel. On my side, it took about 1 hour to do a full upgrade. If you don't have a very specific configuration, it would also be good to make a fresh install. And what about the ACPI support? I really have no idea. I'm not sure that it's in whole in kernel and which packages you should upgrade. -- Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253629 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 253629] Re: Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu
Ok, I will upgrade only the kernel, and later (if still dont work) i'll upgrade to 8.10. I supposed that is simple to install the new kernel, because all the upgrade will take along time, and sometimes don't adapted to the old version, we can try first with the kernel, in my opinion. Because like you said, the aplications dont change, only wifi support will increased and others features, but, i'm only use the distro to connect to internet with adsl, read mail, write docs and watch videos, listen music Also can upgrade, install, some package that were related with acpi?, right? my only bug is this, shutdown incorrect -- Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 253629] Re: Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu
Hi, I have a similar problem, I'm also have a MSI motherboard, the model is MSI 848 P Neo-V In my case, after successfully shut down the computer from Ubuntu, this is turned on immediately after being turned off. This does not happen from Windows XP, so the BIOS settings are ok. A couple of times, changing values in grub file menu.list, I could fix it but that solution is not served on other occasions. This happens since I installed 8.04, never report this error, but It happened long ago. Never came up with 7.10 or 7.04. Only in 8.04 Can the bug be fixed in 8.04? (I don't want to install 8.10 now) Thanks -- Computer automatically turns on after proper shutdown from ubuntu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/253629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 158248] Re: Nautilus gives error too many files open when copying
Hi, I wanted to tell you that I do the same thing happens in Ubuntu 7.10. Never in 7.04 I had this problem. I have a good machine. Moreover, the newly installed hard drive empty, the framework of 640mb, and I do not understand because this happens, I begin to think that is an important bug ... I have read that it is a protection in a .conf file, at this blog: http://linexiando.blogspot.com/2007/08/amule-error.html More times happen when using mp3, to copy, but sometimes if I tried to open a directory. Ubuntu Said he had a limit of 1024 open files, and that is reached that limit, everything is working and not leave us open more folders to view its contents, even if you leave work to save or copy anything or create a txt, or open the browser. Therefore I think this is something serious. The system is unusable, the only solution is to reboot. I hope suggestions, help, or any other similar cases explanation about this. Excuse my English, do not speak clearly, I speak Spanish.
