[Bug 1859980] Re: 1.3-1 regression on i386

2020-02-09 Thread jcfp
And now it passes on i386 as well, without any changes on the re2c end
of things. Is this really a bug in re2c or its packaging?

[Bug 1859980] Re: 1.3-1 regression on i386

2020-01-25 Thread jcfp
The autopkgtest is directly based on the upstream testsuite, that passes
fine on build for all archs, i386 [1] included. Same tests, same
executable.

How does ubuntu's autopkgtest platform differ from the buildds?
Different hardware/emulation/set of x86 features?

[Bug 1806527] Re: par2 create skip the first file

2019-04-10 Thread jcfp
Per manpage and --help output: par2 c(reate) [options]
[files]

Your command line 'par2create filename.part*' expands to 'par2create
filename.part01.rar filename.part02.rar [etc...] filename.part010.rar'.
As such, it specifies "filename.part01.rar" as the , and
parts 02 through 10 as the files for which to create recovery files. The
program did exactly what it was ordered to do.

2018-12-28 Thread jcfp
Libluajit-5.1-dev is a non-optional build-dep for sysbench releases more
recent than the ancient version in xenial. Hence, this is not a bug in
the sysbench package unless/until one can show there's something wrong
with the dependency itself. Otherwise, if you want sysbench to build on
s390x, you'll have to ensure its build-deps are present and accounted
for on that architecture.

[Bug 1731422] Re: package sabnzbdplus 1.1.1+dfsg-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script was killed by signal (Terminated)

2017-11-13 Thread jcfp
Given that the script contains only automatically inserted code from
debhelper and worked fine on retry, I don't think this problem is caused
by sabnzbdplus. You failed to provide an answer as to the system load at
the time, so I'm going to have to assume this is the oom killer or
similar mechanisms at work.

Closing for now, feel free to reopen if you find a way to reproduce.

[Bug 1588659] Re: Program (like XPad) not shown in menu after install

2016-09-08 Thread jcfp
Just because this happens with "program[s] like xpad" doesn't make this
an xpad bug. The xpad package (both in the previous and the latest
version) installs its desktop file using the standard methods provided
by debhelper. Such entries consistently not showing up in the menu until
after a new login while they do appear in a menu editor is likely an
issue or design choice of your desktop environment.

Unless you can demonstrate this bug is specific to the xpad package
only, please reassign to the "common denominator" (probably the desktop
environment or -less likely- debhelper).

[Bug 1621322] Re: xpad not drawing titlebars in Lubuntu.

2016-09-08 Thread jcfp
It seems the window decorations are off by default, probably by design
to emulate a sticky note as close as possible. These can be enabled in
the preferences (right click on any pad or the xpad systray icon) though
and then work fine here.

The only issue I could find in this regard is that the help file - also
shown on first use of the application - states the window decorations
are enabled by default which isn't the case.

Reassigning to the upstream project for the documentation inconsistency.

[Bug 1449270] Re: package sabnzbdplus 0.7.20-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-04-27 Thread jcfp
Not quite. Apparently whoever administers your system installed python
code under /usr/local, including a file in /usr/local/lib/python2.7
/dist-packages/ply/lex.py that (on line 176) tries to open some file for
writing and fails.

None of this is part of sabnzbdplus and more than likely not of any
other package either, given its location in /usr/local. However,
anything that uses python could be affected by this stuff if it gets
included in the python search path (check the output of: python -c
'import sys; print sys.path').

Anyway, closing as this is not a bug in sabnzbdplus.

[Bug 1330146] Re: Sabnzbdplus has problems with WIN RAR 5 files

2014-06-15 Thread jcfp
Sabnzbd+ versions = 0.7.17 have (basic) support for rar5 format, when
used alongside unrar = 5. The latter is available in trusty/14.04 and
newer; the former isn't in Ubuntu as yet but will be uploaded to Debian
in time for utopic/14.10.

On older Ubuntu releases, neither is available out of the box in a
sufficiently new version. That means you will have to find or create a
(private) backport. For sab itself I maintain a ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~jcfp/+archive/ppa - which leaves just unrar to
figure out by yourself.

[Bug 1077305] Re: package sabnzbdplus 0.6.15-1 [modified: usr/bin/sabnzbdplus] failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2012-11-10 Thread jcfp
You have completely replaced the init script that comes with the package
[1] with a severely broken one. Among its obvious flaws is that it will
always return a nonzero exit status when run with any other argument
than start, which in turn causes package removals and upgrades to
fail.

[1] /etc/init.d/sabnzbdplus should look like this:
http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/python-
apps/packages/sabnzbdplus/tags/0.6.15-1/debian/sabnzbdplus.init?revision=8160view=co

[Bug 989814] Re: Albatross: GTK3 apps are hard to read (white on light grey)

2012-07-13 Thread jcfp
Finally, I can see and use all those applications again. Simon and
others, thanks for the information and the fixed theme.

Personally, I'd love to see a regression this severe fixed with a stable
release update (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates). The fact
that this bug essentially makes a whole lot of applications absolutely
unusable, including high profile onces such as the update manager,
should help to make a case for such an update. Although canonical might
want some minimal changes fix for the theme that's in precise right now
rather than an all new version.

This is the result of a misconfiguration. You specified an invalid user

[Bug 941342] Re: Firefox icon in Ubuntu 11.10 taken over by Sabnzbd+ icon

2012-02-27 Thread jcfp
Sabnzbdplus ships an icon in /usr/share/pixmaps/sabnzbdplus.(png|xpm),
used only for it's menu entry. It doesn't even try any of the things you
describe in your bug report. Most likely, this is something to do with
your window manager or desktop environment, so I'm changing the affected
package accordingly.

[Bug 778161] Re: package sabnzbdplus 0.5.6-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should reinstall it before attempting a removal.

2011-05-27 Thread jcfp
The VarLogDistupgradeAptlog.gz attachment shows a weird mix of official
and ppa package versions for sabnzbdplus and sabnzbdplus-theme-smpl: apt
seems convinced there's a 0.6.0 of one but only a 0.5.6 of the other.
Maybe LP somehow failed to publish the ppa binaries for 0.6.0 all at the
same time, despite them being build from a single source package. If so,
the problem should have disappeared not too long after it popped up.

All in all, I'm not seeing a packaging or program bug here. Any updates?
Is this still a problem?

[Bug 689274] Re: Upstream claims no Python 2.7 Support

2010-12-12 Thread jcfp
For upstream and 2.7, it's simply not tested and thus not supported by
them (yet). On their forum, a number of people have been running the
program with python 2.7, apparently without major issues. Once this was
successfully tested in natty, I'll update the packaging in Debian too.

I am unaware of any announcement of ubuntu's plans for 2.7 though (and
too busy to search), so a link for that would be appreciated.

[Bug 616508] Re: Main window insensitive upon startup

2010-08-14 Thread jcfp
Did some more testing, found out that it makes a difference whether or
not I delete the ~/.sabnzbd dir prior to launching lotta.

Starting without sab running, and without a pre-existing lotta config:

* with the usual ~/.sabnzbd in place: SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback
appears twice, lotta never displays the session selection dialog and
always behaves as seen in the screenshot attached to this bug.

* continuing from the above, setting active = local and trying to
start lotta again the SessionNotSpecifiedError is gone, the traceback
known from bug #608209 appears (twice!) and the app window is in the
same zombie condition as before.

* now when I remove ~/.sabnzbd and ~/.config/lottanzb/* to clean up, and
start lotta again a session selection window (Start Downloading)
appears in front of the zombie window and the app appears functional.
The command line shows the SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback - but this
time only once. In case I cancel that dialog the app exits cleanly but
it has about a 50/50 chance of crashing with 'lottanzb: Fatal IO error
11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.' the next time
it's started.

* continuing from the above, If I insert active = local and start
lotta again it appears to work, starts a sab instance; the gui is
responsive and warns in bright orange that a server is needed.

Quite puzzling how having the sab dir in place influences the process
and makes tracebacks appear twice, especially since I guess that lotta
didn't try reading the ini yet (since that would have caused a traceback
of its own with my normal sab config)...

The SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback is probably best to hide away,
same for the one that appears if no server is defined in sab yet.

or maintaining with the connection to the usenet server(s).

the application and outside of it. Anyway, glad it works again for you.

This has been fixed upstream in 0.5.x, which is already in (newer

finish any existing queue in 0.4.12 first, as your current queue and

[Bug 573152] [NEW] synce-trayicon: missing dependency on nautilus

2010-05-01 Thread jcfp
Public bug reported:

[Bug 545610] [NEW] [FFe] Sync sabnzbdplus 0.5.0-1 (multiverse) from Debian unstable (contrib)

2010-03-23 Thread jcfp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sabnzbdplus

Major improvement over 0.4.x releases, including changes to the
program's API. See upstream changelog.

Privately tested in everyday use for a long time; also available via my
ppa (advertised by upstream), no reports of trouble there either. Builds
and installs/updates fine in lucid. No rdepends.

All Ubuntu-specific changes can be dropped, reason: no longer needed,
new release supports Python 2.6.

[Bug 517566] [NEW] claws-mail-html2-viewer cannot print without html2ps

2010-02-05 Thread jcfp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: claws-mail-extra-plugins

Claws-mail-html2-viewer cannot print unless the html2ps program is
installed. Currently 'html2ps' is not a dependency.

To reproduce: start claws-mail, load the plugin, open a html email, and
try to print it while viewing as html. Program will give an error
message saying Printing HTML is only possible if the program 'html2ps'
is installed. Installing that package fixes the problem.

Tested on karmic, likely to exist on lucid too given the similar lack of
a html2ps dependency there.

[Bug 515223] Re: sabnzbdplus is broken in lucid as it needs python2.5

2010-01-31 Thread jcfp
This is one of the bugs introduced by the changes in bug #512079, whose
uploader didn't bother to do any testing, resulting in an uninstallable
sabnzbdplus package on lucid. Please complain there, I don't have time
to fix other peoples mess right now.

Your changes introduce bugs and make the package uninstallable (Depends:
python ( 2.6) but 2.6.4-0ubuntu2 is to be installed). Please revert all
but the first.

[Bug 511547] [NEW] module Cheetah not available in python2.5 on lucid

2010-01-23 Thread jcfp
Public bug reported:

After installing python-cheetah, it's only available in python2.6. This
causes trouble for application running under python2.5; see bug #487221
for an example. The package's debian/pyversions specifies 2.3-,
suggesting it should work. Tested on lucid daily build of 22/01:

Works fine with 2.6...
r...@ubuntu:~# python2.6
Python 2.6.4 (r264:75706, Dec 8 2009, 11:51:43)
[GCC 4.4.2] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import Cheetah
 print Cheetah.Version
2.0.1
 exit()

... but not with 2.5:
r...@ubuntu:~# python2.5
Python 2.5.4 (r254:67916, Jan 21 2010, 16:15:26)
[GCC 4.4.3 20100116 (prerelease)] on linux2
Type help, copyright, credits or license for more information.
 import Cheetah
Traceback (most recent call last):
File stdin, line 1, in module
ImportError: No module named Cheetah
 exit()

Please fix so that Cheetah is available for all python versions.
