[Bug 1859980] Re: 1.3-1 regression on i386
And now it passes on i386 as well, without any changes on the re2c end of things. The autopkgtest is directly based on the upstream testsuite, that passes fine on build for all archs, i386 [1] included. Same tests, same executable. How does ubuntu's autopkgtest platform differ from the buildds? Different hardware/emulation/set of x86 features? [Bug 1809860] Re: sysbench package for s390x required in ubuntu_btrfs_kernel_fixes is only available on Xenial
Libluajit-5.1-dev is a non-optional build-dep for sysbench releases more recent than the ancient version in xenial. Hence, this is not a bug in the sysbench package unless/until one can show there's something wrong with the dependency itself. Otherwise, if you want sysbench to build on s390x, you'll have to ensure its build-deps are present and accounted for on that architecture. ** Changed in: sysbench (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809860 Title: sysbench package for s390x required in ubuntu_btrfs_kernel_fixes is only available on Xenial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-kernel-tests/+bug/1809860/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Given that the script contains only automatically inserted code from debhelper and worked fine on retry, I don't think this problem is caused by sabnzbdplus. [Bug 1588659] Re: Program (like XPad) not shown in menu after install
Just because this happens with "program[s] like xpad" doesn't make this an xpad bug. The xpad package (both in the previous and the latest version) installs its desktop file using the standard methods provided by debhelper. Such entries consistently not showing up in the menu until after a new login while they do appear in a menu editor is likely an issue or design choice of your desktop environment. Unless you can demonstrate this bug is specific to the xpad package only, please reassign to the "common denominator" (probably the desktop environment or -less likely- debhelper). ** Changed in: xpad (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1588659 Title: Program (like XPad) not shown in menu after install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xpad/+bug/1588659/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1621322] Re: xpad not drawing titlebars in Lubuntu.
It seems the window decorations are off by default, probably by design to emulate a sticky note as close as possible. These can be enabled in the preferences (right click on any pad or the xpad systray icon) though and then work fine here. The only issue I could find in this regard is that the help file - also shown on first use of the application - states the window decorations are enabled by default which isn't the case. [Bug 1449270] Re: package sabnzbdplus 0.7.20-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Not quite. Apparently whoever administers your system installed python code under /usr/local, including a file in /usr/local/lib/python2.7 /dist-packages/ply/lex.py that (on line 176) tries to open some file for writing and fails. None of this is part of sabnzbdplus and more than likely not of any other package either, given its location in /usr/local. However, anything that uses python could be affected by this stuff if it gets included in the python search path (check the output of: python -c 'import sys; print sys.path'). Sabnzbd+ versions = 0.7.17 have (basic) support for rar5 format, when used alongside unrar = 5. The latter is available in trusty/14.04 and newer; the former isn't in Ubuntu as yet but will be uploaded to Debian in time for utopic/14.10. On older Ubuntu releases, neither is available out of the box in a sufficiently new version. That means you will have to find or create a (private) backport. You have completely replaced the init script that comes with the package [1] with a severely broken one. [Bug 989814] Re: Albatross: GTK3 apps are hard to read (white on light grey)
Finally, I can see and use all those applications again. Simon and others, thanks for the information and the fixed theme. Personally, I'd love to see a regression this severe fixed with a stable release update (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates). The fact that this bug essentially makes a whole lot of applications absolutely unusable, including high profile onces such as the update manager, should help to make a case for such an update. [Bug 778161] Re: package sabnzbdplus 0.5.6-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: Package is in a very bad inconsistent state - you should reinstall it before attempting a removal.
The VarLogDistupgradeAptlog.gz attachment shows a weird mix of official and ppa package versions for sabnzbdplus and sabnzbdplus-theme-smpl: apt seems convinced there's a 0.6.0 of one but only a 0.5.6 of the other. Maybe LP somehow failed to publish the ppa binaries for 0.6.0 all at the same time, despite them being build from a single source package. [Bug 616508] Re: Main window insensitive upon startup
Did some more testing, found out that it makes a difference whether or not I delete the ~/.sabnzbd dir prior to launching lotta. Starting without sab running, and without a pre-existing lotta config: * with the usual ~/.sabnzbd in place: SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback appears twice, lotta never displays the session selection dialog and always behaves as seen in the screenshot attached to this bug. * continuing from the above, setting active = local and trying to start lotta again the SessionNotSpecifiedError is gone, the traceback known from bug #608209 appears (twice!) and the app window is in the same zombie condition as before. * now when I remove ~/.sabnzbd and ~/.config/lottanzb/* to clean up, and start lotta again a session selection window (Start Downloading) appears in front of the zombie window and the app appears functional. The command line shows the SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback - but this time only once. In case I cancel that dialog the app exits cleanly but it has about a 50/50 chance of crashing with 'lottanzb: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.' the next time it's started. * continuing from the above, If I insert active = local and start lotta again it appears to work, starts a sab instance; the gui is responsive and warns in bright orange that a server is needed. Quite puzzling how having the sab dir in place influences the process and makes tracebacks appear twice, especially since I guess that lotta didn't try reading the ini yet (since that would have caused a traceback of its own with my normal sab config)... The SessionNotSpecifiedError traceback is probably best to hide away, same for the one that appears if no server is defined in sab yet. -- Main window insensitive upon startup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616508 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 603809] Re: Service stays idle
Ah, that way. Such problems are usually related to problems establishing or maintaining with the connection to the usenet server(s). Unfortunately, that still leaves a lot of potential causes, both within the application and outside of it. Anyway, glad it works again for you. Given that 0.5.3 fixes the issue and will enter official Ubuntu repositories soon (see bug #611324), I'm setting the status on this one to fix committed.
