[Bug 529183] [NEW] Bank Statement Reconciliation Error

2010-02-27 Thread Jordi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openerp-server

Bank Statement Reconciliation fails when an account that has the
"Reconcile flag" unchecked is included on the statement.

Of course as one account is unchecked, the reconciliation should not be
possible and according to that the system gives a message informing of
it, but the problem is that the conciliation starts and some accounts
(those that are marked as Reconciliable) are reconcilied and some not...

Can you post the contents of /etc/init.d/tinyproxy? As far as I know,
tinyproxy does not do that kind of chown, it does a separate chown and

[Bug 378026] Re: installation impossible

2010-02-23 Thread Jordi Mallach
For whatever reason you have no tinyproxy.conf installed, thus tinyproxy
won't start.

In 1.8.0-1, available in Debian, the init script tests the availability
of the config file before trying to do anything with it.

Install a tinyproxy.conf file, and you'll be set.

I don't know what you're talking about, to be honest. As far as I can
tell, Lucid has 1.9.6, and Debian has had 1.9.8 for over a week.

Also, it's not great surprise that the GNOME SVN is stale at 1.9.5,
given every GNOME project has moved to Git.

[Bug 437953] Re: Problems with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100 agn, with wifi "n" connection

Hi Pepe,

Thank you for your answer.
I spoke with Belkin about the wifi speed connection, and they answer me that I
change the wifi channel number, but I don't done it.
Yesterday, I was sending a 2GB file from my laptop to the network hard disk,
and the speed was 1.4MBi/s (read from netspeed), I think that it's fine.

Now, I'm using kernel 2.6.31-17

Thank you very much

[Bug 489824] Re: power manager icon on system tray doesn't indicate battery status correctly

2010-01-13 Thread Jordi
Hello all,

This is the same that happens to me. In particular:

When I switch on my computer using only the battery, the Battery monitor
on the tray is showing ALWAYS that the battery is fully charged.
However, making a simple click onto the monitor icon, it shows a popup
with the actual percentage of remaining battery. In this situation, if I
do not verify frequently the remaining power, the computer
just runs out of battery and halts abruptly. When restarting, I had
to fscheck the filesystems. This is very dangerous.

However, I found a "trick" while this issue is not successfully addressed.
All this changes when I simply connect the PC
to the power (just less than a second) and the monitor changes:

* A popup shows that the the battery is discharging, as well as the remaining
battery percentage and the time.
* The tray icon is showing that the battery is discharging.
* The popup information when click the icon remains the same than before.

In this situation, the battery monitor shows 2 alerts: the first one
some time before running out of battery (about 9% of battery) and the
second one when only 1-2% of battery remains. In both cases, the popup
alert shows correctly the percentage of battery, but do not show the
proper remaining time (just "unknown remaining time" or so). In
contrast, in this case, the computer switch off normally (as I have set
up in the settings).

All these problems appeared when upgrading to Karmic. In the previous
ubuntu release, all worked really fine.

My hardware settings are as follows (sudo lshw):

[Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails

2009-12-13 Thread Jordi Sellares
As I mentioned earlier, I basically followed

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile

as explained in "the debian way". The only additional things I had to do
is

- Save the patch at comment #202 of this forum at "~/src"
- After "cp -vi /boot/config-`uname -r` .config", "patch -p1 <
../intel_ehci_periodic_fix.backport_2.6.31.4.patch"

The compilation takes about 4 hours, but other than these there was no
other problem. As mentioned earlier, you don't even need to build the
restricted modules.

Does anybody know if the recent ubuntu kernel upgrade fixes the problem?
Otherwise we will have to stick with the patched custom kernel...

2009-12-05 Thread Jordi Sellares
I report success with the
intel_ehci_periodic_fix.backport_2.6.31.4.patch on the akoya medion mini
(msi wind clone)! I followed
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile (the debian way) and
everything worked like a charm. No need to build the restricted modules,
at least on the akoya medion mini.

[Bug 491771] [NEW] [Karmic] battery is charged (when discharging) and unaccurate remaining battery time

2009-12-03 Thread Jordi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

When I switch on my computer using only the battery, the Battery monitor
on the tray is showing ALWAYS that the battery is fully charged.
However, making a simple click onto the monitor icon, it shows a popup
with the actual percentage of remaining battery. In this situation, if I
do not verify every while and while the remaining power, the computer
just runs out of battery and switch off abruptly. When restarting, I had
to fscheck the filesystems.

However, I found a trick. All this changes when I simply connect the PC
to the power (just less than a second) and the monitor changes:

* A popup shows that the the battery is discharging, as well as the remaining
battery percentage and the time.
* The tray icon is showing that the battery is discharging.
* The popup information when click the icon remains the same.

2009-11-17 Thread Jordi Sellares
Great job! Congrats to everybody that has been working on this issue!
:-) :-) :-)

Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the impact of the udelay on
performance. It is really critical to have the delay as small as
possible or it is just one more of many threads running in background
and, therefore, it doesn't matter the extra time introduced by the
delay?

Many thanks in advance!

2009-11-02 Thread Jordi Sellares
I think this is the same as

Blacklisting the uvcvideo driver in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf makes
USB usable again (but does not fix webcam).

[Bug 452439] [NEW] ir_act_window contains null value on field name after installing module account

2009-10-15 Thread Jordi
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openerp-server

After creating an openerp database with minimal profile and without
sample data I install the account package.

Just after this installation I make a backup and restore the database
apparently without problems... but I can't not enter on the restored
database (the error says that there is no action associated to the
user).

Doing a backup and restore using pgadmin3 I can see that restore shows
an error related to the data import inside the ir_act_window (name field
has null value)

If I look on the table ir_act_window on the database that I backedup
there's on record (id 229) that has a null value on the field name.

I can bypass the problem putting wathever on the field name (using
pgpadmin3)... After that the backup and restore runs correctly

Done and sent. The wifi interface was flagged as "available to all
users", but I deleted the connection and recreated it several times
until I made the connection to the IPv6 stuff. Right now I'm connected
via a wired ethernet, but I can reproduce the issue if you want, and
take any debugging info you could find useful.

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-10-04 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
The computer now runs Hardy and I am doing all tests related to this bug from a
Jaunty live CD, so I don't know how to proceed.
Is it possible to do what you suggest from a Jaunty live CD ?

[Bug 437953] Re: Problems with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100 agn, with wifi "n" connection

2009-09-29 Thread Jordi
Hi all,

Two weeks ago, I spoke to Belkin support, and today they send me an e-mail with
a link to download a new firmware for the router.
This afternoon I've installed the new firmware and..., surprise, the ping
answer was inmediatly, but the speed was the same 60Mb/s just 20inch from
the router.

Now I'm about 10m from the router and the speed is reduced until 36Mb/s.
It's possible to increase the connection speed?

[Bug 437953] [NEW] Problems with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100 agn, with wifi "n" connection

2009-09-27 Thread Jordi
Public bug reported:

Dear all,

I’m using Ubuntu Jaunty 64 bits and I have a problem in my laptop
(Toshiba Satellite A500-141 with Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link
5100 agn) with the wifi “n” connection.

When starts my laptop the Network Manager shows established connection
but if I do a ping command to 192.168.1.2 (it's the router) the answer
delay until 46 seconds. After this firts ping the answer time reduce
until 2ms. Also, disconnections happen regulary (but network manager
shows the connection established) but the ping delay until 40 seconds
one more time.

If I connect with wifi "b" or cable, works fine and Vista wifi “n”
connection works fine too.

The lspci command return:
jo...@jordi-laptop:~$ lspci -nn | grep Network

[Bug 200509] Re: iwl4965: Microcode SW error detected. Restarting 0x2000000

2009-09-24 Thread Jordi
Hi all,

I get a similar problem when I connect with wireless "n" network (it
works fine with wireless "b" network), and I try to install the new
intel firmware "iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode", but I don't know how.

I've done: "sudo cp iwlwifi-5000-ucode-8.24.2.12
(2)/iwlwifi-5000-2.ucode /lib/firmware", but, what is the next step?

This is console result:

that there is an error on the bonobo-activation-server which prevents

Sorry for the delay, I was away on holidays for almost two weeks. The
problem reported with Nautilus happens with all users. I didn't specify
a package because it seems that whatever happened also affected the
normal powering off of the computer and the sound in non-privileged
users.

[Bug 423214] Re: [Hardy] After updating desktop fails to initialize: "Cannot show <>."

2009-09-02 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
There is also another problem since the update with the volume control and the
sound.

This is a living room-PC that we mainly use to watch movies. Before the update
it worked correctly but now with the normal user that we use to watch movies
(unprivileged and with auto-login) it doesn't work:
- The sound doesn't work.
- The volume control on the top bar appears as silent and when I trie to open
it I get a message saying (transalated): "The volume control cannot fint
elements and/or sound devices ..."

However switching to another privileged user makes the sound work. Going
back to the first other user, the sound doesn't work again..

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-08-24 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
Hi,

First of all my apologies for the delay. I am quite busy during summer
and haven't had time to check on that. Also, I didn't see any
notification of last Geir answer and was still waiting ... :-)

The good news is that after one hour of setting up the environment I
could test the driver with the patch and it works. I attach the
xorg.1.log file (it is 1 because somehow session number 0 got stuck and
the new driver opened the session in number 1). And as I said, the patch
works: It detects the screen correctly and gets the right resolution.

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-08-19 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
I first tried to use a live CD but didn't know how to reboot after the
changes so I tried to use a boot USB stick but was not successful.

Since it might be a while until I am able to have a working USB stick
I'll use a live CD ,but here I have doubts. I understand how I can
install the patch in a live CD but I don't know how to test that the
patch works. Before formatting I could just reboot the computer after
every xorg.conf change and test everything but in a live CD I cannot
reboot ... how do I test that the new X configuration works after
installing? And how do I go back to a working conf. to submit the files?

Thanks,
Jordi.

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-08-07 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
Last weekend I tried to set up a boot USB stick but was not successfull.
Have to check the creating procedure (used my laptop's Jaunty app. to
create it) and/or maybe update the BIOS of the computer. Haven't had
time during the week.

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-07-27 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
Hi Geir,

Did you see the upstream new patch?

Recently after an update the Xserver didn't want to start (too much
updates I guess) and I installed Hardy. The reason is because the video
driver not only doesn't have this problem, but also because performance
is much better. So if I test anything it would have to be on a live CD.

Jordi.

Hi there. Forgive me if I am asking an obvious question. Could you
tell me which is the name of the package which is going to fix the
issue? I've just taken a look into jaunty-proposed and i've just found
a package which I think could be relevant to this issue (Xorg sever
for intel chipsets). I've installed it and it still does not work, so
I'm back with the "unofficial" 2.6.28-11 patched kernel...

Could be posible that the updated kernel is not yet in the proposed
repository?

Thanks in advance.

Isn't that the 2.7 I've been trying?

[Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)

2009-06-29 Thread Jordi Puigsegur
Hi Geir,

I am using the packages you placed on http://www.kvante.info/LP379157/.
I downloaded them and install them using dpkg.

I did as you asked me: Installed 0ubuntu0sarvatt, rebooted (X don't
work), installed 0ubuntu2gomyhr and then I tried to restart gdm and the
result is (copied from console):

$ /etc/init.d/gdm restart
 * Stopping GNOME Display Manager... [ OK ]
 * Starting GNOME Display Manager... [fail]

And no Xorg.0.log is produced. Then I reboot the computer and this time
doesn't hang up. I attach both Xorg.0.log with mode debug activated.

Hi again,

I expected that all attachements were included in my last comment. I did
not know how to include them here, so I created a new bug (I know it is
duplicated to this one), but at least you have more details about the
issue. The new bug I created is:

Hoping this will help.
