[Bug 489824] Re: power manager icon on system tray doesn't indicate battery status correctly
Hello all, This is the same that happens to me. In particular: When I switch on my computer using only the battery, the Battery monitor on the tray is showing ALWAYS that the battery is fully charged. However, making a simple click onto the monitor icon, it shows a popup with the actual percentage of remaining battery. In this situation, if I do not verify frequently the remaining power, the computer just runs out of battery and halts abruptly. When restarting, I had to fscheck the filesystems. This is very dangerous. However, I found a "trick" while this issue is not successfully addressed. All this changes when I simply connect the PC to the power (just less than a second) and the monitor changes: * A popup shows that the the battery is discharging, as well as the remaining battery percentage and the time. * The tray icon is showing that the battery is discharging. * The popup information when click the icon remains the same than before. In this situation, the battery monitor shows 2 alerts: the first one some time before running out of battery (about 9% of battery) and the second one when only 1-2% of battery remains. In both cases, the popup alert shows correctly the percentage of battery, but do not show the proper remaining time (just "unknown remaining time" or so). In contrast, in this case, the computer switch off normally (as I have set up in the settings). All these problems appeared when upgrading to Karmic. [Bug 435352] Re: regression: uvcvideo module makes "cannot reset port" error on usb with bison webcam (5986:0203): USB and suspend fails
Great job! Congrats to everybody that has been working on this issue! :-) :-) :-) Please forgive my ignorance, but what's the impact of the udelay on performance. It is really critical to have the delay as small as possible or it is just one more of many threads running in background and, therefore, it doesn't matter the extra time introduced by the delay? [Bug 452439] [NEW] ir_act_window contains null value on field name after installing module account
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openerp-server After creating an openerp database with minimal profile and without sample data I install the account package. Just after this installation I make a backup and restore the database apparently without problems... but I can't not enter on the restored database (the error says that there is no action associated to the user). Doing a backup and restore using pgadmin3 I can see that restore shows an error related to the data import inside the ir_act_window (name field has null value) If I look on the table ir_act_window on the database that I backedup there's on record (id 229) that has a null value on the field name. I can bypass the problem putting wathever on the field name (using pgpadmin3)... Hi all, Two weeks ago, I spoke to Belkin support, and today they send me an e-mail with a link to download a new firmware for the router. This afternoon I've installed the new firmware and..., surprise, the ping answer was inmediatly, but the speed was the same 60Mb/s just 20inch from the router. [Bug 437953] [NEW] Problems with Intel Wireless WiFi Link 5100 agn, with wifi "n" connection
Public bug reported: Dear all, I’m using Ubuntu Jaunty 64 bits and I have a problem in my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A500-141 with Intel Corporation Wireless WiFi Link 5100 agn) with the wifi “n” connection. When starts my laptop the Network Manager shows established connection but if I do a ping command to 192.168.1.2 (it's the router) the answer delay until 46 seconds. After this firts ping the answer time reduce until 2ms. Also, disconnections happen regulary (but network manager shows the connection established) but the ping delay until 40 seconds one more time. If I connect with wifi "b" or cable, works fine and Vista wifi “n” connection works fine too. [Bug 423214] [NEW] [Hardy] After updating desktop fails to initialize: "Cannot show <>."
Public bug reported: After a regular update on Hardy, the desktop fails to initialitze properly with the message "Cannot show <>." (translated from catalan). I attach a capture of the message. Also the desktop shows directly the contents of the user directory. I use hardy: jo...@ximenea:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS Release:8.04 I also attach the /var/log/apt/term.log corresponding to the last update (it is in catalan but I is ok to see the versions). Since the update is only of mono libraries and libc6 I suspect that this last might be the cause, but I'd better check here before... No more updates have been performed on the computer. [Bug 379157] Re: [i945G] Samsung TV not detected on VGA output (no screens)
Hi, First of all my apologies for the delay. I am quite busy during summer and haven't had time to check on that. Also, I didn't see any notification of last Geir answer and was still waiting ... :-) The good news is that after one hour of setting up the environment I could test the driver with the patch and it works. I attach the xorg.1.log file (it is 1 because somehow session number 0 got stuck and the new driver opened the session in number 1). And as I said, the patch works: It detects the screen correctly and gets the right resolution. Hi Geir, Did you see the upstream new patch? Recently after an update the Xserver didn't want to start (too much updates I guess) and I installed Hardy.
