[Bug 199823] Re: [Hardy] Blender's 3D viewport grid looks strange
I have the same bug on a Thinkpad R61i (with GM965). I think it is not a Blender bug, as it reminds me the rendering glitches I found in 3D games (see the attached screenshot). Johannes, could you try a simple 3D game (e.g. ppracer) to see if it renders OK or with glitches? I think the bug is in the file i965_dri.so. I tried to replace it with the one in Gutsy, and it made those glitches disappear, however, it then froze the system when tried to play Torcs. As I happened to test an install of Frugalware, which has 7.0.2 version of mesa, and copying i965_dri.so from it fixed the rendering problems. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot-AssaultCube1.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12727866/Screenshot-AssaultCube1.png -- [Hardy] Blender's 3D viewport grid looks strange https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 199823] Re: [Hardy] Blender's 3D viewport grid looks strange
Tried to experiment with earlier versions of mesa, and downgrading libgl1-mesa-dri and libgl1-mesa-glx to 7.0.2-4ubuntu2 solved the problems, while they are present with the 7.0.3~rc2 versions. Meanwhile I have found the easiest way to check if the problem is present is to open Screensaver Preferences, choose the screensaver 'Skyrocket', and if parts of the terrain disappear and/or bacame a triangle pointing towards the centre of the picture (see attached screenshot), the rendering problems are present. On a sidenote, with 7.0.3~rc2-1ubuntu2 the z-buffer problems with the 'Endgame' screensaver (bug #162206) are again present. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot-Screensaver Preferences-2.png" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12728854/Screenshot-Screensaver%20Preferences-2.png ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel + Binary package hint: mesa, xserver-xorg-video-intel If I switch from orthographic to perspective view (Numpad 5) the grid in the 3D viewport looks really strange. -- [Hardy] Blender's 3D viewport grid looks strange https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199823 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 211528] [NEW] [Hardy] Brasero cannot copy a DVD to file image
Public bug reported: Hardy beta (last updated 3 April) Brasero-0.7.1-3ubuntu1 I cannot copy a DVD to file image. Steps done: 1.) Put DVD to the drive. (It is automounted, and OK in Nautilus) 2.) Open Brasero. 3.) Click on Disc copy. 4.) Under 'Select a drive to write to' choose File image. At this point the 'Properties' button and the 'Copy' button gets grayed out, and nothing is showed besides the icon (where the name of the image file is supposed to be), see the attached screenshot. When I tried with a CD, it seemed to work, at least I could click on 'Properties', change the image file, click on 'Copy', and the actual copying started (I cancelled it manually, but seemed to work flawlessly until that point). The problem is not related to css encoded DVDs, it is present with my unencrypted data discs as well.
