[Bug 584052] Re: Internal ATAPI CD/DVD drives will not automount in Lucid PowerPC
I can confirm that even with udisks 1.01-1ubuntu1 automount oes not work. I issued a similar bug reports for karmic and lucid (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-mount/+bug/507113 and https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/udisks/+bug/590448). As you can read there, a simple workaround makes the disks mounted: open a terminal and issue udisks --poll-for-media (replacing with the appropriate file, e.g. /dev/hdb for me). If you repeat this command also after eject, you can repeat the process as often as desired. -- Internal ATAPI CD/DVD drives will not automount in Lucid PowerPC https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584052 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 590448] [NEW] CD/DVD change not recognized
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: udisks If I insert a disk into my CD/DVD drive, nothing happens (not shown on desktop, rythmbox, no traces in syslog). udisks --monitor-detail shows nothing, although udisks --enumerate / --show-info and dmesg show the drive properly. [Bug 507113] Re: Karmic/powerpc: CD/DVD media not recognized
Thanks Conal, Kubuntu recognizes and acceses removable media without problems on my powerbook, too. I therefore changed the package to gnome-mount (may have no effect eithter ...). The only way gnome recognizes dv/cds seeems to restart with the medium in tray. Cheers, Stefan p.s.: The problem remains the same with Lucid. If I'm smart enough, I'll assign it. ** Package changed: devicekit (Ubuntu) => gnome-mount (Ubuntu) ** Branch linked: lp:ubuntu/lucid/gnome-mount -- Karmic/powerpc: CD/DVD media not recognized https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/507113 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 507113] [NEW] Karmic/powerpc: CD/DVD media not recognized
Public bug reported: If CD/DVD media are inserted into the drive (MATSHITADVD-R UJ-846), they are not detected (not shown on desktop, rythmbox etc.), although the drive is detected on dmesg and palimpsest disk utility. Autodetection works fine on Jaunty and Debian lenny, so it is no hardware issue. devkit-disks --monitor shows NOTHING during disk insertion, there is also NO entry in kernel log (like "Jan 8 10:30:06 ubuntu kernel: [ 975.303777] ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A" on an i386 machine). I'm not the only one affected (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1323153), so I decided to file this bug. Thanks for any advice.
