was:

[Bug 992844] Re: k3b keeps asking to install mp3 support

2013-01-03 Thread kaputtnik
I've tried to add the search path for Programs under "Settings ->
Configure k3b -> Programs -> Search Path" with the Path "/usr/lib/x86_64
-linux-gnu/" but this doese'nt helps.

Then i read the topic https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?t=100710 which
suggests two more files, wich are shipped i a third Party repo of
openSuse. This package comes with four addintional files:

/usr/share/kde4/services/kcm_k3blameencoder.desktop
/usr/share/kde4/servicesk3blameencoder.desktop
/usr/lib/kde4/k3blameencoder.so
/usr/lib/kde4/kcm_k3blameencoder.so

Trying to copy this files in the appropriate Folders, restart the system
but it doesen't work.

Is this a packaging issue or a compiling issue to k3b?

> be an other reason why they are not picked up.
No, its not the same: Look at the "current"-Resolution for "Screen 0:" Screen
defines the Overall-Resolution wich expands over all Monitors.

The next differnce is the third Value of "DVI-1". The Meaning of this
Values are:

> DVI-I-1 connected WIDTHxHEIGHT+BEGINNINGfromLEFTof
SCREEN+BEGINNINGfromTOPofSCREEN

I don't know, if SUSE or Kubuntu changes some of config-files, because
in Kubuntu it works.

You could adjust the Settings in a Terminal with the Command xrandr. So
this is the commandline for my Settings:

> xrandr --output DVI-0 --pos 1680x0 --mode 1680x1050 --refresh 59.8518
--output VGA-0 --pos 0x0 --mode 1680x1050 --refresh 59.8833 --output
DVI-0 --primary

As a workaraound you could write a script with the correct xargs
commands and place it in the autostartfolder. Or create a file
/etc/X11/Xsession.d/45custom_xrandr-settings. If you could understand
german, look at the wiki-page http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/RandR

I am only a user, not a KDE maintainer so i could not say whats wrong.

@ Gita Benadi: Yes, ithink your Bug is different from the one reported
here, because you want to switch between two Monitorsettings.

I forgot to report, which Distirbution i use: Its Kubuntu 12.04 with
actual KDE 4.9.2. But this issue was allways fixed for me before April
2012. Don't know which KDE-Version it was. Maybe KDE 4.7.xx

@ Frans: Seems that your Post was truncated. I trie to put missing here:

Yes, i do it in this way. But actually i do not have to do this ;)

You use the KDE-Version 4.7.2 As described in
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183143#c87 i used in January the

[Bug 898390]

2012-10-23 Thread kaputtnik
Here is everything fine now. But i could not say with which Version it
is fixed. The only thing i could say, is:

Don't use the proprietary driver. Don't have a /etc/X11/xorg.conf file.
If you are using a proprietary driver, it would be better to adjust the
Screensettings within xorg.conf.

My System:
$ lspci -nnk | grep -i -A2 vga

Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. Device [1043:03ca]
Kernel driver in use: radeon

Working with two Monitors with this graphicscard, one left, one right.:

$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3360 x 1050, maximum 8192 x 8192

 [...]
VGA-0 connected 1680x1050+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 474mm
x 296mm
   1680x1050 59.9*+
 [...]

The left is VGA-0, the right one is DVI-0. The resolution is on both
Screen 1680x1050. The DVI-0 position is: Absolute, 1680x0 The VGA-0
position is Left from DVI-0.

You have to save your settings explicitly with the Button "Save as
Default" beneath the " Identify Outputs"-Button.

Sorry, but for me this Bug is solved.

[Bug 918874] [NEW] qapt do not show related packages to play mp3 files with amarok

2012-01-19 Thread kaputtnik
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 11.04
Release:11.04

Package: gstreamer0.10-qapt (1.2.80-0ubuntu1)

Running Amarok and trying to play MP3-files, it automatically looks for
the right codecs and optionally install them. But playing MP3-files do
not work. Instead, it opens a window to look for the right codecs.
Pressing "yes" will show up another window, but no Packages to install
where shown.

I have to install the package "gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3" manually to
play mp3-files with amarok.

The automatic codec recognition from gestreamer should find the package
"gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3".

[Bug 574457] Re: melt displays and renders garbage while playing .ogv in ubuntu 10.04

2010-06-05 Thread kaputtnik
Fabio is right... There must be other issues to this bug.

ffplay (Version 0.5.1) does not play videos correct
Other Videoplayer (vlc, dragonplayer) shows Videos correct.
After Compiling the latest Version of ffmpeg (0.6), ffplay shows Videos
correct, but melt doesn't

At the Moment i'm still confused about wich packages/Programs are
working together... recordmydesktop, ffmpeg, melt and kdenlive

The main thing is, that kdenlive does not show the viedeos correctly and
so it is not usable with ubuntu 10.04

May i have to compile melt too? But it seems, that the latest Version of
melt is the Version used in Ubuntu (0.5.4)

Birthdays from KAdressbook reminding didn't work either.

In Kubuntu "Hardy" (KDE 3.5.something) birthdays and Events are reminded
correct.

[Bug 488251] [NEW] Korganizer: Reminder reminds every minute, whatever remind-settings are choosen

2009-11-25 Thread kaputtnik
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdepim

Running Kubuntu 9.10

apt-cache policy korganizer
korganizer:
  Installiert: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu6
  Kandidat: 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu6
  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 4:4.3.2-0ubuntu6 0
500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Try to set an event and KOrganizer should remind me on this event. Example:
Date of today: 25. November 2009
Eventdate: 27. Nevember 2009
Remindersettings: 2 Days before event starts; 10 times every 5 minutes
The reminder window pops up every minute, instead of the time i choosed (5
minutes).

This is also tested in a Live-Session with Kubuntu 9.10 CD. The result
is the same: Popups every minute, instead of time i choosed.

Post the Problem even at http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/post/2248858/ .
Some other People using OpenSUSE or Debian didn't confirm this Problem.

Thanks

[Bug 137735] Re: [gutsy] wine causes hard lockup - every time

2008-01-25 Thread kaputtnik
Sorry, i forgot:

If you dont want to UPgrade many packages, you could allways DOWNgrade
the dri and glx Drivers. You will find these packages at
http://packages.debian.org/etch/libs/ . The packages from here
http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/libs/ are maybe the same, but i didn't
test these packages.

The Versions of the older packages are:
from http://packages.debian.org/etch/libs/
libgl1-mesa-dri (6.5.1-0.6)
libgl1-mesa-glx (6.5.1-0.6)

from http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/libs/
libgl1-mesa-dri (6.5.2-3ubuntu7)
libgl1-mesa-glx (6.5.2-3ubuntu7)

Happy testing...

[Bug 137735] Re: [gutsy] wine causes hard lockup - every time

2008-01-20 Thread kaputtnik
Hello Moodang!

Sorry for my late answer. The E-Mail Sytem from my Provider has pulled
your message to the Spamfolder...

I will try to explain how do i upgrade the dri and glx-Driver (Sorry for
my bad english):

In the beginning i have to shout out a warning: As i upgrade my System,
many errors and warnings are displayed. Most of them are harmless, but
you allways should know what this warnings are about. I give no garanty
for satisfaction. My System runs very fine with the new dri and glx-
packages (and i have allready turned it to German back). If you are
German, you can look for a description at this side:
http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/144343/

I'm not experienced with dpkg! I use Synaptic... So i try to explain in
a non Synaptic way:

Due the installation you should NEVER turn the System of or Reboot!
1. DEinstall the OLD dri-Package
2. Install the the new glx-package (Because there are dependencies on other
packages, maybe some other packages must be updated to *1. Synaptic marks the
packges to upgrade automatically, thats why i had the System-language in
english)
3. Install the NEW dri-package
4. Logout
5. Login

If the X-Server starts it looks good ;-) Before you try running wine,
run the glxinfo command. If glxinfo shows at the end a configuration-
table, it looks very good.

*1
The updated packages are:
libc6 (2.6.1-1ubuntu10) to 2.7-5
libc6-dev (2.6.1-1ubuntu10) to 2.7-5
libc6-i686 (2.6.1-1ubuntu10) to 2.7-5
libgl1-mesa-dri (6.5.1-0.6) to 7.0.2-3
libgl1-mesa-glx (6.5.1-0.6) to 7.0.2-3
and maybe some other...

WITH NO GARANTY but with best wishes
kaputtnik

[Bug 137735] Re: [gutsy] wine causes hard lockup - every time

2008-01-13 Thread kaputtnik
HI!

I solved the bug while upgrading the dri and glx packages from the
debian homepage: http://packages.debian.org/testing/ . Maybe the
packages from http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/libs/ do even solve the
bug, but i didn't try these packages.

The installed Versions on my Computer are:
libgl1-mesa-dri 7.0.2-3
libgl1-mesa-glx 7.0.2-3

There is only one limitation with these packages: When installing, the
package libc6 is automatically updated. That causes the Systemlanguage
is than in english (such as menues and windowtexts). While i'm a german
(if you might has guess) i don' want the Sytemlanguage in english.
Because of this, i replaced the libc6 package with one from the
http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/base/ homepage. Now the Systemlanguage
is German again.

So long

[Bug 137735] Re: [gutsy] wine causes hard lockup - every time

2008-01-07 Thread kaputtnik
HI!

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 on a Laptop and since a few weeks i try to
become infos about this bug. Heres what i try:

Start a thread on http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/142190/ (still in
work)

Continue a thread on http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7285 (status
now: closed)

This thread ends with that post:
"The crash occurs on winex11.drv load after a kernel32.TlsAlloc call, most
likely in X11DRV_setup_opengl_visual(). Looks like something is wrong with
your opengl setup."

Start a new thread on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13946
(no answer till now)

Today i find this thread about the bug.

The tip to disable the glx and dri modules do not satisfy.

In addition to the Bug description from the Top:
The Program glxinfo breaks after the Line: "GL_SGIS_texture_lod" with the
output: "Segmentation fault (core dumped)"

wine runs fine under Ubuntu 7.04 with a Live-Session CD. Even the
program glxinfo doesn't break and shows after the Line
"GL_SGIS_texture_lod" some registers or konfiguration settings (which
under 7.10 misses).

Because everything is fine with Ubuntu 7.04, and under Ubuntu 7.10 not, this
bug depends on differences between the used drivers in each distribution. Think
the related drivers are:

Ubuntu 7.04:
driverversion : 1.2 Mesa 6.5.2
Packages: libgl1-mesa-dri_6.5.2-3ubuntu7
 libgl1-mesa-glx_6.5.2-3ubuntu7

Ubuntu 7.10:
driverversion : 1.2 Mesa 7.0.1
Packages: libgl1-mesa-dri 6.5.2-3ubuntu7
 libgl1-mesa-glx 6.5.2-3ubuntu7

And now? Someones needed to find and fix this bug. I will help as
possible. Thinking for download the source, but i'm not experienced with
driverprogramming... but i now what a variable, a class and a
functioncall is.

Is the adress https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13946 korrect
for asking on a solution?

with hope on a solved bug
