[Bug 2072581] Re: sssd 2.9.4-1 fails to populate krb creds when set to FILE:/run/user/uid/krb5cc
Sure thing. I’ve completely reconfigured the krb stack with sshd/sssd/pcscd optimizations for AD bound systems. Because long ago with the death of PAGs (process authentication groups), and the dawn of user systemd, there’s no day to day technical need for a user to have unique credential caches for each logged in method/session to the same realm and same user account. I’ve consolidated this down to one krb ccache in /run/user/uid/krb5cc which is now managed and renewed by user systemd and user services. Benefits here are krb creds don’t live on disk storage, and destroyed with the user slice. My dream would be to get this built into the stock/upstream. It may take me some time, but I will document it here and share for those looking at improving network credentials (with PKINIT support), making it usable and efficient at login (Fast logins) improving the user experience. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072581 Title: sssd 2.9.4-1 fails to populate krb creds when set to FILE:/run/user/uid/krb5cc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd/+bug/2072581/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1884299] Re: Snaps don't run with NFS home on AutoFS
I am using AFS, similar to kerberized NFS, for user home directories, and snap misbehave/fail to work property here as well. I'm running more into issues with refreshing snaps and removing snaps. With home dirs set to the /afs/[cell]/usr and when removing a snap, it wants to walk every user (all 10 thousand) home directories to try to clean up home directories and then fails to remove or refresh the snap when it's denied access and fails. As far as I can tell, there's no command line switch or system config option to disable walking of home directories. Snapd or the snap command as root should NOT walk network home directories and clean them up. This should be the task of the user's snap daemon when launched to perform cleanup actions after the fact. Realizing howeer, that owuld probably be really hard with networked home directories where many other systems could be sharing the same snap directory with various snaps and versions installed in the fleet. OR, if there is a way to point non-persistent data that is cache or runtime stored in a tmpfs elsewhere on the system, and only storing user specific data only stored in users' home directories. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1884299 Title: Snaps don't run with NFS home on AutoFS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1884299/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 2072581] Re: sssd 2.9.4-1 fails to populate krb creds when set to FILE:/run/user/uid/krb5cc
I have a shim workaround to manage/consolidate all krb ticket caches under systemd that now works with the user tmpfs directories. This drastically improves the user experience to that to MS Windows for all suers that ssh/gdm login, with smartcard/pcscd optimizations. Perhaps some day I will document it and publish it, or attempt to see if we can de-fracture the kerberos stack on linux in general. we can close this ticket. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072581 Title: sssd 2.9.4-1 fails to populate krb creds when set to FILE:/run/user/uid/krb5cc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/2072581/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

sigh, this looks like this is being caused by systemd. using iwatchnotify, i see sssd is doing everything it's supposed too. but then systemd comes by and mounts a new tmpfs on TOP of the /run/user/${uid} directory, then masking the krb5cc file. tmpfs on /run/user/966406121 type tmpfs (rw,nosuid,nodev,relatime,size=554272k,nr_inodes=138568,mode=700,uid=966406121,gid=966400513,inode64) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2072581 Title: sssd 2.9.4-1 fails to populate krb creds when set to FILE:/run/user/uid/krb5cc To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/2072581/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

See https://docs.python.org/3.12/whatsnew/3.12.html (the first paragraph under the heading "Summary – Release highlights"), as well as PEP-0632 (https://peps.python.org/pep-0632/). I figured this out when I tried downgrading the package to the version in Mantic (5.0.3-1ubuntu1): `dpkg` complained that it depends on `python3-distutils`. That led me to searching for the package in Noble, and getting to this point. (Adding the `regression-release` tag. Apologies if this is the wrong regression tag to apply!) BTW, this isn't affecting Debian 12 because they're using Python 3.11, the last Python version to include distutils in the standard library. Debian sid is currently on Python 3.11.8, so they haven't hit this issue yet. As for upstream, looking at PyPi (https://pypi.org/project/docker/#history), 5.0.3 was the last of the 5.x series. Their latest versions are 6.1.3 and 7.0.0. Their changelog page (https://docker-py.readthedocs.io/en/stable/change-log.html) does not explicitly say when they moved away from distutils, but from Git commits it looks like the removal happened in https://github.com/docker/docker- py/commit/42789818bed5d86b487a030e2e60b02bf0cfa284, which was included in the 6.0.0 and later releases. So, what to do in the meantime? According to PEP-0632, Setuptools adopted distutils, and this started to happen in Setuptools 48 (https://github.com/pypa/setuptools/issues/417#issuecomment-653593796). Since the python3-setuptools package in Noble is newer (68.1.2-2ubuntu1), probably the best workaround is for `python3-docker` to depend on `python3-setuptools`. == Regression details == Discovered in version:5.0.3-1ubuntu1 Last known good version:5.0.3-1 ** Bug watch added: github.com/pypa/setuptools/issues #417 https://github.com/pypa/setuptools/issues/417 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2061929 Title: Python docker package does not import: No module named 'distutils' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-docker/+bug/2061929/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2061929] [NEW] Python docker page does not import: No module named 'distutils'
Public bug reported: This is on a fresh install of the 20.04 beta that was released on April 12. I used the Desktop installer, into a VMware Fusion VM, on amd64. Other than the defaults for a fresh Ubuntu Desktop install, all I ran was `apt install -y docker.io python3-docker`. [Bug 2039113] Re: snap "core" is not removable: snap is used by the model (and ubuntu-advantage-tools used to install it by default on all installs)
On 24.04 Ubuntu essentially re-branded appimages as snaps and then blocked all appimages from running. Is this supposed to protect the OS from it's own users? [Bug 2056541] [NEW] wish: versions should be displayed immediately
Public bug reported: when selecting a package, and "expanding" Technical description, tab "Changes", initially appears: "Downloading list of changes... ((Cancel button))" currently, this seems to take forever for me. What I really want to know is which version is installed, and which version is due to be installed. This is already known locally, however, it is only displayed as the first three lines after downloading the change log. Then is looks like: "Changes for : Installed version: Available version: " followed by a bold heading per version, and the notes for each in- between version. (in this case, the specific situation is Changes for linux-headers-generic versions: Installed version: 5.4.0.170.168 Available version: 5.4.0.173.171 but it seems that there is no change log entry for 5.4.0.170.168 so I get a long list with Version 5.4.0.171.169: followed by Version 5.4.0.169.167: all the way down to Version 3.18.0.1.1: - maybe this is why it takes so long?) My wish is that these three lines, which are already known, are displayed immediately, so that I need not wait for the change log to be downloaded. Or feel free to tell me, by all means, if I can find the versions already via some other way. "Description" does not contain it (as expected) and I see no widget which may help me find this information, within the application 8I am aware, there are apt commend line tools, but Software Updater should make it unnecessary for me to use them to find out simple information like this. [Bug 1940754] Re: Scanned images are deteriorated by compression artifacts with Brother MFC-L2710DW
The problems has disappeared. xsane and scanimage work fine now: - The xsane gui offers scan resolutions up to 9600 dpi - No compression artefacts, tested with 1200 dpi - No error messages are displayed by xsane The reason is a mystery, neither any sane nor brscan related packages seem to have been updated in the meantime, but the options xsane offers and how it behaves are clearly different. I can't remember having touched any scanner related configuration since then. However, even though there is only one device, which is connected via WLAN, xsane offers me two "devices" upon startup: Brother *b20210821 MFC-L2710DW [brother4:net1;dev0] and ESCL Brother MFC-L271 flatbed scanner [escl:http://192.168.178.26:80] With the first "device", "Brother *b20210821", scanning works fine, with the second device "ESCL Brother MFC-L271", the old problems occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1940754 Title: Scanned images are deteriorated by compression artifacts with Brother MFC-L2710DW To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1940754/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1959068] [NEW] old highscores are disregarded in ranking
Public bug reported: I have a highscore file that reaches several years back. When I choose a setup I haven't played recently, I notice that the old scores are shown but lower scores are sroted before them, so while they are displayed in the highscore list, they are treated as if the score was lower than displayed (possibly 0). I also have the impression that not all scores are displayed in the highscore list (because when playing I usually name the entry by the score number, e.g. when I managed to rank third, I would mostly call the entry "ke3" while when I reach a highscore I will enter KE in upper case and no number, and it is very unlikely I played one setup only a few times, so if a highscore table shows only some entries and even more so if they have numbers, it is likely that others are missing. The old highscore was shown as the current highscore during playing that game, and when playing again it was replaced by the lower new one. Package version: 2.5+dfsg1-1build1 Ubuntu version: 20.04.3 LTS I attach a sample screenshot of wrong sorting and my .bl2/hscore.dat file (after playing once more). ** Affects: blockout2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot showing a lower new score above a higher old one" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1959068/+attachment/5557481/+files/Screenshot%20from%202022-01-26%2007-44-06.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1959068 Title: old highscores are disregarded in ranking To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blockout2/+bug/1959068/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1913552] Re: using tpm reports "/dev/tpm0: Permission denied"
Hello Christian, basically it is the same what people do here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1365829/qemu-failed-to-passthrough-a-tpm-device Except that you need to write "/dev/tpm0 rm," into the file, as the colon is missing and starting a VM will give you complaints on an AppArmor rule. In my opinion, the best solution would be either to let libvirt add an exception when starting a VM that needs a TPM passthrough or the exception will be made in an Apparmor file for libvirt users and its spawned processes. [Bug 1940754] [NEW] All scans via sane deteriotad by compression artefacts for Brother MFC-L2710DW
Public bug reported: I have a Brother MFC-L2710DW printer with integrated flatbed scanner. There are two major problems when scanning with sane: The first problem is that the quality of all scanned images is very poor due to 8x8 pixel JPG compression artefacts. The root coarse seems to be the backend, as the result is the same independently if the image is acquired through xsane or scanimage. The second problem is that sane only scans up to 300 dpi. 1200 dpi is not offered at all and for 600 dpi the error message "Failed to start scanner: Invalid argument" is displayed. Interestingly the message is displayed after the scanner has completed the scan, but the data seems not to be received or understood by sane. The scanner works fine in Ubuntu with the commercial software vuescan, which rules out a firmware bug or malfunctioning of the scanner itself. [Bug 1928380] [NEW] wish: switch to package names
Public bug reported: Request for enhancement: as a technically minded person, I find the package titles displayed sometimes confusing. For example, right now four items are identically named "Manage release upgrades". I am well aware of the fact that by expanding the "Technical description" part of the window, I can already look up each package name in turn. You are welcome to not change the expandable section headings, since e.g. "Ubuntu base" is a conceptual name rather than a package name, as far as I am aware. The fix from mohamed-badaoui is working as expected for me & I have no problems with Firefox @magellan-2000 The only incapability I noticed (I haven't read through all of these comments so I apologize if this is a repeat) is that once the numpad is enabled the regular track-pad function is disabled until the numpad is once again disabled. Not a big deal at all, just something I noticed.. I can give another example (and not the first one I've seen). Re: [Bug 1919563] updated sssd with smart cards now brick systems without full cert chain
Marco, Great! This should be easy for me to test, and I’d be happy to do so. I may be able to do a regression test to make sure the automated NSSDB -> openssl upgrade works as well. This would mean however that the upgrade would need to drop the appropriate sssd.conf.d to configure the partial_chain config option on upgrade. I assume partial_chain will work even if the full chain is present? While this would technically work, it would be really bad news. This would allow anyone with any user cert issued by a CA in the system wide cert store (by any CA in the world) to be trusted and pass authorization checks by p11_child. (Albeit, some directory attributes would have to line up, depending on your match rules) You only want the full chain of the issuing, intermediate and root CA(s) that are authorized to issue certs to users. Really, going to OpenSSL is a bit of a downgrade. Nssdb, allows one to flag which certs you want to trust, and which certs you don't. There’s no way that I’m aware of to flag a cert in the /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem to say I trust this cert, but not this other cert. Perhaps the right fix would be that p11_child is updated upstream to use the system cert store to complete chain of trust, and only the authorized issuing CAs should be put in the /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem file. Perhaps Summit would be willing to add this config option, for which could be set to default to the system store in Ubuntu in the Ubuntu packages. This still assumes a user has properly setup the system store to trust corporate root CAs (and intermediate, since there’s no way to differentiate between trusted root vs untrusted supporting certs in the system store in Ubuntu) > I mean having this in /etc/sssd/sssd.conf > > [pam] > pam_cert_db_path = /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt > > And then what was into /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem to be added to > .crt's under /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/sssd_auth_ca_db/ and > eventually calling update-ca-certificates maybe? > > We could even do the other way around probably, by adding an hook to > /etc/ca-certificates/update.d/ so that we ensure that /etc/ssl/certs/ca- > certificates.crt is always in sync with the system ring? > > > As Robie said, we could revert this change but this would not be ideal for > various reasons IMHO: > 1. [Bug 1919563] Re: updated sssd with smart cards now brick systems without full cert chain
I agree and concur. Just need some checks here, as this is a pretty big change in behavior for a mid-life LTS release. That said, the new configuration is in line with RHEL8, and will help reduce the configuration scope for a working solution. I'll also comment, (and perhaps a bit of scope creap, but...) we've found a number of unfixed issues with sssd, specifically with PKINIT and LDAP optimizations. We're working with the upstream maintainers to help address these. We would like to see these brought into 20.04 LTS, as all directory users can benefit here. Are you or Marco the best to help us bring these into a general release down the road? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1919563 Title: updated sssd with smart cards now brick systems without full cert chain To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd/+bug/1919563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1919563] Re: updated sssd with smart cards now brick systems without full cert chain
To speak to real world assessment here - there's a big push across many (US) gov't orgs and industry to deploy MFA. These requirements are not new, but many have not been enforced due to lack of compliance checks/certifications. This is changing with new efforts in the US Gov't industry circles with regard to CMMC. This is an assessment/certification that industry must meet and maintain for contactual compliance, starting to roll out in the next year or so. Likewise there's been a lot of focus lately on unclassified compliance with NIST policy. We have a number of customers, working toward or maintaining an MFA solution. All are struggling. Many have lagged with pam_pkcs11 providing/satisfying most compliance requirements. But with RHEL8 and Ubuntu 20.04 adoption underway (with RHEL6 and 14.04 end of life) many are stuck working to cobble together an implementation. Of course with the uptick in remote work, MFA has also resurged, also pushing along adoption of sssd MFA. We noticed with the latest round of patching something was a-miss. and today tracked it down to this change. We're working with our customers to come up with a workaround. I think there's a larger number of folks impacted here, but unfortunately, the number of possible ways to do MFA is very large, and because no one maintainer has completely documented/supported MFA well, sysadmins typically develop their MFA craft using what they can. I don't discourage this change, in fact, will help push along the MFA adoption. However, I think perhaps some preflight checks in the package could solve someone bricking their machine. (or a large quantity of machines). I'd also suggest that MFA support in general should be considered a core requirement for future versions of the LTS, and well tested, supported and documented. Adoption will only grow with time, and become more critical. This will help reduce the variations of implementations, and help drive folks to a known and supported configuration. Reproduction of the issue: In our circles, we see a fully Microsoft AD integrated Smartcard (with kerberos and PKINIT) implementation. This also bleeds over into pam_sss configuration issues with U20.04, (for which I should file another ticket) Based on my diagnosis today, I think this is isolated to p11_child, and those with a nssdb with only issuing CA certs populated in the database. I don't think this issue matters for which directory is being used and if PKINIT is functioning, since all the MFA magic happens within p11_child. I'm going to assume that you folks have some way test AD with MFA, and will try to summarize. To reproduce, you'll need (at least) a 2 tier CA PKI chain. Root -> Issuing CA -> End user cert (with old sssd version) configure for smart card auth * do as you always do to join/setup sssd to a directory service * verify user ID lookups, and login works as expected with password * add any mapping/filter rules to the /etc/sssd/sssd.conf for p11_child * upadte /usr/share/pam-configs/sss to Priority 800, rebuild pam stack, dpkg-divert /usr/share/pam-configs/sss * add the root and issuing certs to /usr/local/share/ca-certificates, rebuild system trust store * generate a new, empty nssdb /usr/bin/certutil -N -d sql:/etc/pki/nssdb --empty-password * when adding the certs to nssdb, only add the Issuing CA WITH CT,C,C flags certutil -A -d /etc/pki/nssdb -n issuingCA.crt -t "CT,C,C" -i /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/issuingCA.pem * enable openSC modutil -force -dbdir /etc/pki/nssdb -add "OpenSC" -libfile opensc-pkcs11.so * test PKI auth works * login or: /usr/libexec/sssd/p11_child --nssdb=/etc/pki/nssdb --pre -d 10 --debug-fd=1 --verify no_ocsp * perform upgrade to latest sssd * verify the /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem is populated only with the issuingCA * test p11_child to see if it breaks /usr/libexec/sssd/p11_child --debug-microseconds=0 --debug-timestamps=1 --debug-fd=23 --debug-level=0xf7f0 --pre --verify no_ocsp --nssdb /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem fix it: * add the /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/rootCA.pem >> /etc/sssd/pki/sssd_auth_ca_db.pem * run p11_child again, observe that it works * try to login Brick your system procedure: After above test procedure works: * configure for MFA on old sssd * populate the below to /usr/share/pam-configs/sss-smartcardonly * pam-auth-update --package --enable sss-smartcardonly --remove sss --force * verify only smart card is allowed to login * apt upgrade * reboot, login no longer allowed Note that SSHing into the system may be allowed, depending on ssh configuration and if sss_ssh_authroizedkeys is enabled. [Bug 1905790] Re: Make SSSD in 20.04 using OpenSSL and p11-kit (instead of NSS) for p11_child
I don't know of a great way to test this without pulling apart p11_child, or using it as part of a pre-flight check somehow during the package update. The problem here is you'd need a PKI cert to test that preflight. As a failsafe, a dialog during upgrade with a preflight check of require_cert_auth in /etc/pam/common-password to throw a warning if the user continues with smart card enforcement. Force the user to ack to proceed, otherwise fail the package install. Perhaps adding a debconf flag to allow bypassing this dialog of this by sysadmins. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905790 Title: Make SSSD in 20.04 using OpenSSL and p11-kit (instead of NSS) for p11_child To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sssd/+bug/1905790/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1905790] Re: Make SSSD in 20.04 using OpenSSL and p11-kit (instead of NSS) for p11_child
This change had created a denial of service configuration bug for an untold number of smart card configured (and smart card requires) systems. p11_child requires with the OpenSSL PEM full cert chain to function. the NSSDB version does not. So for folks that have configured the minimum in the NSSDB by only adding the issuing certificate (and not chain of certs to the root), smart card authentication will now fail by simply updating to the latest Ubuntu 20.04 packages. The nssdb to pam conversion script does not check chain of trust in the new pam file. So when untold number of systems roll this out with require_cert_auth in the pam stack to be NIST 800-171 compliant, they will all be bricked and no way to login.

[Bug 1915784] [NEW] Permissions of executables pointing to "buildd"
Public bug reported: I've noticed this issue already with other applications, which have been updated recently, too. This morning I've updated the sudo package and it broke, too. The common issue is that fakeroot gets omitted or faulty in your build environment somehow. After looking into the current sudo package I've noticed that all files are owned by "buildd:buildd", which doesn't exist on my computer and thus the 2001:2501 on my local machine. I'll try to collect some other packages, too, which have the same problem. [Bug 1913215] Re: Random kernel bugs on nouveau driver and NVidia 1070 Ti
I've got a very specific setup here, which relies on a btrfs filesystem to be mounted. However, starting with 5.11.x there is a check prior mounting, which prevents me to boot. It tells me basically something like "failed to read chunk tree", but I don't see anything in btrfs-progs which could fix it. Will keep you posted. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1913215 Title: Random kernel bugs on nouveau driver and NVidia 1070 Ti To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1913215/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1910908] [NEW] Web-login page for captive portals not opening on public wireless networks
Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS Focal Fossa the web page to log on to public wireless networks does not open. Without this, it is not possible to access public networks in cafes and hotels. It neither works with Firefox, Chrome nor Konqueror. I could ping the gateway so the redirection to the web login page seems to fail. In Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10, the login page opens as expected on the same machine. [Bug 1875159] Re: Official Skype on Ubuntu 20.04 "No device found"
in my case, audio was working fine but no camera was detected by the skype snap installed via ubuntu. Based on a hint I found elsewhere in the net, I did sudo modprobe uvcvideo a subsequent restart of the skype process was required and the camera was detected. Even if not directly applicable to the original poster's situation, maybe some readers may find this helpful. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1875159 Title: Official Skype on Ubuntu 20.04 "No device found" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1875159/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
