Public bug reported:

Guest/VM OS Details - NA
System(s) Under Test - System x3750 M4(Xinyi Lenovo Red Server)
Adapter(s) Under Test - Skyhawk
IPL Name -
Active Profile ID - NA
Network Configuration - Connected to Nexus Switch

FW Used: 11.0.270.15

BUG REPRODUCTION DETAILS
Test Case Instance-
Reproducibility of Bug- Always
Last Known Working Build - NA
Time to Reproduce Bug - 5 Minutes
Steps To Reproduce Bug-
===
1.Map a multipath FCoE LUN in legacy mode.
2.Install Ubuntu 16.04 in the LUN with install
"disk-detect/multipath/enable=true" option.
3.Installation goes on fine.
4.Once the installation is completed the OS does not boot up in legacy.

Observation:

When we install Ubuntu 16.04 in FCoE LUN in UEFI the OS boots up fine.

Steps followed to install the OS in the systems here :
1.After selecting the language press F6, and select "Expert mode" and add the
line "install disk_detect/multipath/enable=true" in install script.

2.After few steps where we are asked about different languages and countries we
are asked to choose the Installer components we want to load, in this page
select "multipath-modules-4.4.0-21-generic-di:DM-Multipath support"

Re: [Bug 51591] Re: acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event

2009-07-22 Thread ketan
Hi,

I thought this bug had been marked as fixed in 2007.

[message from Jerome Guelfucci about bug 51591 on Sun Jun 10, 2007]

Ok, Thank you. I'm marking this as fixed.

** Changed in: acpid (Ubuntu)
Status: Needs Info => Fix Released

Anyway, I've long seen what appears to be fixed behaviour (since
Feisty...)

thanks for the follow up though.

Re: [Bug 77511] Re: hald interferes with acpid?

2008-08-31 Thread ketan
I've not encountered this in some time.

I'm currently using a Hardy Heron that was incrementally upgraded from Edgy.
I cannot confirm having seen this bug since I left Edgy.

I might at some point want to reload the latest Ubuntu from scratch.
If I do that , I could load a fresh Edgy install if that would be helpful.
[though it may be a while before I get to this]

Please let me know if this would be of interest...

Thanks for revisiting this after all this time...

2007-03-28 Thread Ketan Padegaonkar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xgl

XGL does not work as per instructions on the WIKI.

The crash happens when I run compiz on KDE.

[Bug 51591] Re: acpid: can't open /proc/acpi/event

2007-01-03 Thread ketan
I have what I think is a related problem.

I also got messages like those above when I upgraded to Edgy. I found a
message posted about this (sorry, forgot where) which suggested doing
this:

sudo /etc/init.d/acpid stop
sudo killall hald

then finish the install.

this worked. but I keep getting messages about /proc/acpi/event being busy.
They seem to be solvable
when I do this:

sudo /etc/init.d/acpid stop
sudo killall hald
sudo /etc/init.d/acpid restart

this works until the next x session starts - also I don't know
what this is doing to hald's functionality.

good luck

[Bug 71337] Re: gnome-power-manager issues with HAL reports on Asus M6Ne

2007-01-03 Thread ketan
I have an averatec 3715-eh1 and the following worked for me

sudo /etc/init.d/acpid stop
sudo killall hald
sudo /etc/init.d/acpid start
sudo hald

the battery applet appears to work properly afterwards
though this procedure needs to be repeated on each X session restart.

looks like a bug in how the various processes startup.

[Bug 77511] hald interferes with acpid?

2007-01-03 Thread ketan
Public bug reported:

I get the following in a popup on an avaratec 3715-eh1 running gnome under
edgy (upgraded from dapper).

"Can't access ACPI events in /var/run/acpid.socket"

I can sort of resolve this by

/etc/init.d/acpid stop
killall hald
/etc/init.d/acpid start
hald

this is only effective for the current x session.
I think this has no adverse effects upon hald functionality but cannot
fully confirm that.

i am not sure what package this is a bug in.

I think perhaps bugs #51591 and #71337 are related to this.
