anywhere.

Core dumps is not generated because ,

core file size of "0" means that core files won't get generated at all.

Please confirm "Bad talloc magic value - unknown value" if this is the issue
and what does it mean ?

2020-06-22 Thread KK
HI Sergio,

There is no core dump, nor I am not aware I can do that. Is there any
way you suggest to fix the sssd getting killed multiple times on
multiple servers running this Ubuntu version 16.04(4.4.0-178-generic).
Can you please guide with steps if you are aware to fix this sssd thing
and the fix shouldn't crash the machine ?

Thank you.

[Bug 1883614] Re: sssd got killed due to segfault in ubuntu 16.04

2020-06-19 Thread KK
Are you able to identify anything that can trigger the crash?
- Nothing found except the segafult I found, no load, no OOM, no IO, etc. The
machine was really quiet at that time when crashed - most of the activity seems
to be after the event, which is likely the sssd restart.

Is anything else crashing in a similar way on the same system? Random
segmentation faults may indicate a memory corruption issue.
- No only the SSSD

Did the rpcmgr segfault happen on the same machine or on a different one, as
the system hostname in the log snippet suggests? If it happened on a different
machine, do you have any reason to think it's related to the sssd crash?
- It's from different machine. I found this at just the second before `sssd`
got killed.

Could you please include a fuller version of the system logs?
- Sure.

[Bug 1310071] Re: Low graphics mode on logout

2015-05-23 Thread KK
I have a Dell Inspiron 5448 with hybrid graphics: Intel HD 5500u (i7,
integrated) and a AMD R7 M265 (dedicated). I have this same bug. From a
fresh installation of Ubuntu 14.04.2, tried to install:

1.- fglrx-updates from Additional Drivers. Bug appeared and flaky graphics with
both cards.
2.- purged/removed fglrx-updates and installed fglrx from Additional Drivers.
Bug persisted and flaky graphics still.
3.- purged/removed fglrx and downloaded the drivers directly from the AMD site
(amd-driver-installer-14.501.1003-x86.x86_64). Installed and the bug persisted
but it seems that the graphics are more stable now. (no repeated text and no
overheating).

The bug appears specifically when I switch to the Intel integrated
graphics and logout. This doesn't happen when I logout with the AMD
graphics. The bug is also described here
https://community.amd.com/message/1303774 . I get the black screen and
the message this system is running in low-graphics mode (sometimes
with cursor, sometimes without).

Whenever I try to logout though, I get the following message (see
picture). No matter how many times I restart and my system is already
updated. The only way to avoid the black screen is to never logout when
using the integrated Intel card.

[Bug 1355446] [NEW] Hicks-Sound when jumping inside mp3-file during playback

2014-08-11 Thread KK
Public bug reported:

Version currently installed: gst-plugins-ugly0.10 (0.10.19-2ubuntu5)

Affected Distro/System:
The bug occures on all systems i've tested: Kubuntu 14.04.1 x64/openSuse
13.1/Debian 7 with diffrent Hardware (intel, amd, onboard audio and high end
dedicated audiocard). So it should be a software bug. Bug is many years old, i
can remember since ubuntu 8.04.

How to reproduce:
1. Open an audiplayer like gmusicplayer, exaile, vlc, amarok, clementine etc.
and play an mp3-musicfile (CBR/VBR or bitrate doesnt matter).
2. Now, during playback, use your mouse to jump to a diffrent position inside
the mp3-file and repeat this action several times.

You now should often notice a short Hicks when jumping. It seems that
there is an 0.1-0.2 sec. long overlapping between music played at the
moment and music at the point you jump to (puffer problem). There is a
recorded ogg-file as attached to this report, where you can hear the
hickses.

Further facts:
- This happens only with mp3-files (flac,wmv, oga,wave - no problem)
- When i use an audioplayer with wine, all works fine

Workaround:
Installation of jack-soundserver and an increase of latency fix the problem

[Bug 1124727] [NEW] Cursor theme is not changeable permanently

2013-02-13 Thread KK
Public bug reported:

System: Kubuntu 12.10
KDE versions tested: 4.10.0 , 4.9.x, 4.8.x

After every log out, the cursor theme is changed back to the default theme
oxygen white, no matter what cursor theme i have choosen.

The corrrect cursor theme inside the systems-settings-dialog for cursor
themes is always marked - but wrong if it isn't oxygen white.

It happens on all tested KDE SC versions.

2013-01-15 Thread kk
I have this problem too on my notebook Toshiba Tecra R950 since I
upgraded BIOS to version 6.40 released on 10 january 2013. Before BIOS
upgrade suspend and Fn keys worked properly.

I tested v 3.8-rc3-raring too. Problem still occurs. It's same as #20

I agree with the last two comments. Battery lasts half of the time it
lasts on windows 7 and the laptop overheats significantly on a large
spectrum of machines.

This should be a critical bug.

BTW, is there an official kernel we can test against this bug? If
yes can anyone post a link please?

Thanks,
Antonio

I wholeheartedly agree with mabawsa. I've downgraded to Karmic for this very
reason. My battery lasts as long as it should, and my laptop very rarely
overheats (it ran hot as hell with Lucid).

 2010/7/15 mabawsa 524...@bugs.launchpad.net

If this effects the time the user can use the laptop on battery so much
surely the importance should be set to critical (I am getting double the
life using Windows 7 even with all that powertop can do).
Its difficult to convince users to try linux if you say it will decrease
 the performance of the machine.

I have exactly the same experience (going back to the 2.6.31 kernel
makes everything better)... so I agree that it is definitely a kernel
issue.

[Bug 528324] Re: eclipse crashed with signal 5 in _XError()

2010-02-26 Thread kk
Hi

After a system update today, eclipse crash when you try to select from a
list of functions of class method or variable in the java editor.
Pressing the escape or enter eclipse crash every time with this message:
Trace / breakpoint trap (core dumped).

The error does not occur after disabling the automatic activation of
hints after pressing dot (Window - Prefrerences - Java - Editor -
Content Assist - uncheck the Enable auto activation

I think this error is common...

[Bug 411574] Re: [karmic] No sound on Intel 82801H HD Audio

2009-09-16 Thread kk
@pablomme
Same here. YouTube videos won't be affected by PulseAudio because the Flash
plugin uses OSS driver.

@Jonathan
I can confirm the speakers making crackling sounds.

More observations when I switch audio drivers in SMPlayer:
OSS, alsa (0.0 - HDA Intel) - everything fine
alsa, alsa (0.1 - HDA Intel), pulse - crackling sounds only

@qwerty800
I have added model=dell-m21 into alsa-base.conf but it didn't help.

[Bug 195982] Re: Shift key (and caps lock) stop working when using VMWare

2008-05-17 Thread kk
Selecting default layout in 'System - Settings - Keyboard and select layout'
does NOT solve the problem. It re-appeared after I've done that.
Also confirmed that all GTK applications crash on typing when the problem
occurs, and all non-GTK apps are fine.

It seems to me that only GTK applications are going to crash on typing
when the problem occurs.

[Bug 195982] Re: Shift key (and caps lock) stop working when using VMWare

2008-05-02 Thread kk
I experience this problem almost daily. It sure has something to do with
VMWare Tools, but I don't want it disabled, so I have been using the
setxkbmap workaround. Keyboard input does cause many applications to
segfault on that situation, but luckily not including Konsole.

In addition to 'setxkbmap' I have to use the following command:
   'xmodmap /usr/share/apps/kxkb/ubuntu.xmodmap'
to enable the multimedia keys on my Dell laptop. (only for KDE sessions)
