[Bug 1860295] [NEW] dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-dkms-390 fails for kernel 5.3.0.-26
Public bug reported: After the update from 5.0 to 5.3 the dkms reconfigure of the nvidia-390 kernel module fails. [Bug 1811248] Re: systemd--networkd mounts denied for lxc guest
Whilst 'lxc.apparmor.profile: unconfined' appears the only way to keep unprivileged lxc guests with systemd v240 alive it defeats the purpose of AppArmor. [Bug 1811248] Re: systemd--networkd mounts denied for lxc guest
https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/5439#issuecomment-461257784 > The fix in LXD is only partial because there's currently no safe way for us to fix that for privileged containers due to an apparmor parser bug that the AppArmor team is still working on. So we've made the change only to the unprivileged policy for now as the AppArmor bug isn't causing too much damage in that case. There's no such distinction in profile in LXC, so putting those same lines in the LXC policy would allow every user to bypass all mount protections, which isn't acceptable from a security point of view. So the LXC fix is effectively blocked on the AppArmor security bug being resolved first. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1813622 systemd-resolved, systemd-networkd and others fail to start in lxc container with v240 systemd ** Bug watch added: LXD bug tracker #5439 https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/5439 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811248 Title: systemd--networkd mounts denied for lxc guest To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/1811248/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

strace does not seem to be the tool to figure out the info you are asking for. Considering that the pid of the involved processes would be unknown at the time of starting strace. And executing the process(es) from the cli along with strace will not bear fruit for the case. Public bug reported: It appears that that the upstream development https://git.centos.org/summary/rpms!qemu-kvm reached meantime version 5.3 whilst the unbuntu package offered is version 4. [Bug 1579204] [NEW] Auto Hide Launcher Doesn't Work
Public bug reported: I running Ubuntu 16.04 in VirtualBox 5.0.20. With auto hide launcher enabled the launcher does not reappear no matter how I manipulate the mouse. Alt-F1 does bring the launcher up. This used to work on the same host with Ubuntu 15.10 running in VirtualBox. I didn't do an upgrade from 15.10, just a new install. [Bug 1455773] Re: mysql will not start after 5.5 to 5.6 upgrade
Can't be sure, but I think its a general problem. If you want to try and reproduce it try: * Start with 14.04 with mysql server installed, configured, and running. * /etc/apparmor.d should contain a profile file usr.sbin.mysqld * Do the upgrade first to 14.10 and then to 15.04 * When doing the upgrades you will be asked if you want to supply a password for mysql server. Just say continue (motivation, you are not trying to change mysqld password) * check /etc/apparmor.d. If it has the old usr.sbin.mysqld (and an uninstalled dist file) you have hit the "bug" The old apparmor (5.5) profile cannot work with the updated (5.6) mysqld. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455773 Title: mysql will not start after 5.5 to 5.6 upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1455773/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1455773] Re: mysql will not start after 5.5 to 5.6 upgrade
I found the problem. Apparmor still had the 5.5 profile which survived the upgrade. I found the problem. It had nothing to do with kernels. The udev rule 56-hpmud.rules was left over from 14.04 through the upgrade to 15.04. The action it induced when the printer is connected broke the printer identification. Removing the rule fixed the problem. This udev rule was part of the hplip package, and did not cause the identification problem on 14.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1455937 Title: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1455937/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1455937] Re: HP 1018 not seen after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04
Before I get into bisection, I did another experiment. I also have a macbookpro running Ubuntu 15.04 same kernel. I plugged the printer into the macbook and it is properly recognized. I'm attaching the relevant portions of the syslog from the workstation and the macbook. They are quite a bit different. Re: [Bug 1343248] Missing required logs.
Unfortunately I am on a production machine and due to the server hanging and becoming unresponsive, I had to reinstall ubuntu 12.10 server edition. The problem does not appear in this 12.10 But then I found that this softlockup problem has been solved and the last working kernel version that was reported to be working fine was 3.12.0-8 see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1269404 Now http://www.spinics.net/lists/kernel/msg1716965.html This is a patch that was believed to be solution to the problem. But in the upstream kernels I do not see the patch applied. So could this patch be applied upstream into 3.16 ? Please let me know. [Bug 1212287] [NEW] bluetooth will not reconnect after first disconnect
Public bug reported: Bluetooth had been working well for me until recently. I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 with a bluetooth USB dongle that I use to pair with various headphones. Suddenly, after the first successful connection to the headphone, once I disconnect either from the headphone side or the computer side, the headphones will no longer reconnect. I've found that to reconnect, I need to stop bluetooth;rmmod bnep btusb rfcomm bluetooth ; start bluetooth then remove and reinsert the bluetooth USB dongle. Then I can reconnect. I've been using the same hardware for quite a while and this problem is very recent. The only software changes are by the patches which I always accept. [Bug 1193887] [NEW] Network Manager not starting vpnc on 13.04
Public bug reported: I use a vpnc tunnel which worked properly through NetworkManager in 12.10 and earlier. On 13.04 NetworkManager never invokes vpnc when I tell the NetworkManager GUI to start the tunnel. The configuration hasn't changed since the upgrade. I can run vpnc-connect manually with no issue, but NetworkManager won't. The GUI shows the check mark as if its started the tunnel but vpnc itself is never invoked. Any ideas on how to debug this? [Bug 704461] Re: ooffice won't open docx file
I opened this bug because docx files would not open at all. I just found the problem. There was a registry entry in the /usr/lib/openoffice/share tree that wanted to open an Odfconverter that no longer existed. This must have been a holdover from an earlier ooffice before the Odf support was integrated. My system has gone through a series of Ubuntu upgrades and apparently this registry entry was never deleted. Even purging all openoffice packages did not remove it. Ultimately I did a purge of all openoffice packages, then deleted /usr/lib/openoffice, and reinstalled the packages. That fixed it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/704461 Title: ooffice won't open docx file -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

OK, I tested this sample docx on another Ubuntu 10.10 system and I can read it too. So there is something wrong on the system I opened the bug on.
