Re: [Bug 574250] Re: SAMSUNG N150 Laptop : Brightness issue

2011-01-01 Thread Kris969
Hi,

As I mentioned before, since I was using voria ppa for samsung notebook
provide a good behavior, especially concerning the black-light tuning using
specific key. It was, cause for a couple of weeks it doesn't work any more !
I don't really know why, perhaps due to the last voria ppa update ?

I tried first to fully remove this ppa, and I tested again, it doesn't word
as it is with Standard Ubuntu packages. Then I reinstall it again, reboot my
laptop, but it changes nothing...

I'm still available to provide extra information if needed, don't
hesitate !

That's all for today.

Happy new year

2010/12/23 lol 574...@bugs.launchpad.net

 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:voria/ppa
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade

[Bug 459445] Re: no sound // 3:3:1: cannot set freq 16000 to ep 0x86

2010-06-13 Thread Kris969
Also affected by this bug, I also have a logitec Quickcam connected to the
system.
It appears when I switch from one user session to another, sometimes the system
seems to be freeze, but when I switch t the console (Alt+F1) I witness it's
steel working, and the message Cannot set from 16000... is printed every
second
To conclude I will say that if the user know what to do, cause he is friendly
with Ubuntu console commands it can go ahead. In other case, if the user is
just a poor user, the system for him is freeze and he get a poor image about
Ubuntu stability... To continue to raise up the Ubuntu image I propose to set
the gravity of this bug to a importance criteria different than Undecided

Public bug reported:

I have just bought a Samsung N150 laptop, very nice netbook.
As I am a Ubuntu user since 2004, I directly replace Windows seven with the

After Ubuntu installation I notice the following network issue :

It impossible to be wired connected ! when I tried the wire connection with
another laptop it works.
I have found nothing on the net around this problem, so I suppose I am the only
one in this situation ...
I need to precise it's a fresh installation but I am reusing the /home
partition, maybe I have a wrong configuration in it, so I will be interested to
clear network parameters, could you please tell me what to do.
Wifi connection works fine.

[Bug 573919] [NEW] autofs doesn't work with lucid

2010-05-02 Thread Kris969
here are more information about this issue :

The hardware I used for this test and I witnessed this problem with :
SAMSUNG N150 Laptop

What I wanted to do :
I have Installed Ubuntu with the 10.04 BETA1, then I did daily updates.
Today I decided to install autofs (cause I forgot to do it), I use to do it for
my NAS access with previous Ubuntu version.

To do this I did :
sudo apt-get install autofs

then I changed the /etc/auto.master and I created the /etc/auto.nfs
(these two files are attached to this comment)

In the /net directory nothing is present, so it's impossible to access to the
NAS
I tried to find something on the Ubuntu community forum, many guys have the
same problem but I don't really found any solution or workaround.

After a check on Launchpad I didn't find relative topic, so here we are.

Don't hesitate to ask me any information, it will be a pleasure for me
to help as I can ...

[Bug 267072] [NEW] Unable to move and/or resize KMM on Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5

2008-09-06 Thread kris969
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kmymoney2

I am using KMM 0.9 on the Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5

I haven't found the way to move and/or resize the main application

It must be a problem around kde config, but I am not aware with it as I
am a Gnome user.

Thanks for your reply

[Bug 267072] Re: Unable to move and/or resize KMM on Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5

2008-09-06 Thread kris969
I agree, but in the next Ubuntu intrepid Ibex (actually Alpha 5) kcontrol is
not available.
It seems to be replaced by systemsetup, but it don't provide any tune display
control.

Something strange is that the window is not cantered on the desktop and
that I have no possibility to move the window from right to left and
reversely.

So for the moment, if you have any idea, I am interested.

Yes, I have other KDE applications like K3B, Amarok. It works fine. I
only have this problem with KMM.

For the file format compatibility I agree, thanks for your advertising I
know software never guaranty version compatibility from new to older
versions. I have worked by the past more than 10 years in software
development, so I know what it's mean.

Re: [Bug 260902] Re: unable to send a mail with an attachment file with 2.6.24-21 kernel

2008-08-24 Thread kris969
I got two issues with the -21-

The first one is that my son was unable to get internet connection with
its laptop, almost it was working nice days before. having a look on
this I found the wifi device not working at all. So I tried with the
-20- and it was fine again. I wrote a report on launchpad register #260664

The second one (260902) is that I was unable to send mail with large
mail attachment. At the beginning I sow it on my son's laptop, and to
understand what was going wrong, I tried to send a mail in the same
manner but from a desktop with a wired connection. I got the same
problem, using Thunderbird the mail sending starts but nether ends. I
tried with the -20- and from this moment everything is ok.

I stay on the line if you need more detail please come back to me.

Daniel T Chen a écrit :
Is the symptom you described the only trouble with networking in the
-21- kernel from -proposed, or are you having problems connecting via
wireless{, too}? The symptom you describe reads eerily like a wireless
issue that is known, so if you determine that the symptom is restricted
to /wired/ connection (using the tg3 Linux driver), we can narrow down
 the cause more quickly.

[Bug 211168] [NEW] Time to get wifi connection

2008-04-02 Thread kris969
Public bug reported:

For few days I noticed an increase of the time to get my wifi connection
up. It takes about forty seconds until 1 or two seconds before.

In some rare cases it was impossible to have it up after one minute.

The only changes on my computer are Ubuntu updates.

I am testing this beta version on a DELL D610 laptop.

Kris

[Bug 202298] [NEW] Clic on URL in email doesn't work

2008-03-14 Thread kris969
Public bug reported:

Until my last update (it was on friday 13th of march) when I click in an email
with url link include nothing appends !
I use Thunderbird.

The only way I found as a workaround is to copy url, and past it
directly in firefox.
