[Bug 1149495] Re: Dash home application icon is different from app-lens icon
The bug is still present in 14.10. Why was this marked as opinion? When the dash icons were updated in 13.04, this one was obviously overseen. [Bug 1294844] [NEW] [ubuntu 14.04] bad launcher shadow
Public bug reported: In ubuntu 14.04 the window shadow size seems to have been increased. This also affects the shadow of the launcher popups, but it looks wrong (see attached image, shadow of the launcher popup). It looks like the shadow has a cutoff distance and does not fade out smoothly. Also the edges are rough. In the image I have also added a normal window with its shadow for comparison (which is OK). [Bug 842566] Re: Libreoffice and unity integration broken.
I just did some more tests on precise with all updates, and there are still two issues: 1. if you open a document from a file manager, it gets a new white icon, instead of the corresponding writer/calc/impress icon. steps to reproduce: - open file manager - doubleclick any libreoffice file (.odt, .ods, .odp) - observe the panel creating a new white icon instead of creating a triangle to the corresponding icon 2. if you open writer/calc/impress and select File-New-(what ever) there will always be a triangle added to the current icon, instead of creating a new corresponding icon. steps to reproduce: - open writer - click File-New-Spreadsheet - observe the panel not create an Impress icon, but just adding a triangle to the Writer icon Hope this helps, BR -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/842566 Title: Libreoffice and unity integration broken. [Bug 51043] Re: rightclick - paste missing in contextmenu when pointer is above files/folders
I have read the comments at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=94618 and it's really a shame that they still haven't fixed that bug in all those years! (the bug was first reported in 2002) I really don't know why are they complicating it so much. Like I said, the easiest solution in my opinion would be if right-mouse clicking would not select files. Left-mouse click selects file, right-mouse click brings up the context menu. I don't know what exactly is in that swap, but judging by the application/desktop responsiveness I would say that it holds all the stuff I am currently working with. Maybe that explains the intensive CPU usage. The computer has to constantly swap (or trash) when I switch between applications. At the time free was measured, top displayed xmms using 38% of memory and firefox 11%, the rest was below 5%. Maybe it's xmms' fault after all? [Bug 80263] Re: system becomes unresponsive over the day
I found another way to reproduce this bug: Open the attached .pdf file, and *try* to zoom into 300% (I use kdpf, but I guess it can be any program). When going over 200%, the mouse starts lagging, zooming further stops xmms from playing music, and the system becomes completely unresponsive. This happens with any kind of file or any operation that is CPU intensive. So it seems to me, as a process priority issue maybe... For comparison: on similar hardware (athlon 1.9 GHz, 512MB, 1GB swap) and with openSUSE 10.1, this does not happen. ** Attachment added: file to reproduce bug http://librarian.launchpad.net/5781020/test.pdf -- system becomes unresponsive over the day https://launchpad.net/bugs/80263 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 80263] system becomes unresponsive over the day
Public bug reported: There's a similar bug at: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/34822 but it was rejected. Computer: Dell optiplex gx620 (P4 3.2 GHz, 512 MB, 1.5GB swap) Desktop: KDE 3.5.5 On Kubuntu Edgy Eft (kernel 2.6.17-10-386), the system becomes (very) unresponsive after using it for a couple of hours. It's so bad that I can't even move the mouse (but the music still plays). It happens for example at the end of the day, when I try to close xmms which has been running all the time (~8 hours). It happens also when I try to reopen an application that has been just sitting and not doing much (like thunderbird or some documents in openoffice). It seems as if the kernel has problems loading applications from swap back to the memory. Superkaramba widgets show me the CPU usage at 100%, but top or ps -aux don't show any particular process using the CPU so intensively. After waiting for about 2 or 3 minutes, the CPU usage cools down, and I can use the system almost normally - the CPU is at ~2%, but jumps up for any action, even right-clicking on the desktop. Logging out, and back in puts things back to normal (I guess the swap and memory get flushed or something). The problem is reproducable since it happens every day. I guess the procedure would be to open a couple of applications (thunderbird, firefox, inkscape, amarok, konqueror, konsole and a few spreadsheet and word documents with openoffice) and surf the web for a couple of hours or days and then try to use any of the applications that have been lying around. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- system becomes unresponsive over the day https://launchpad.net/bugs/80263 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
