[Bug 220961] Re: [MASTER] ubiquity crashes instead of notifying the user of not enough disk space

2015-08-27 Thread lordievader
This bug is present in Kubuntu Wily (Beta 1) too. Yesterday I tried to
install it on a 4 Gb root and 4Gb /home and Ubiquity crashed. It showed
a crash dialog, but there were no contents in the dialog.

[Bug 1413521] Re: desktop folderview needs to be added on first boot on oem installs

In Wily beta 1 I've found that the desktop icon is there but due to the
desktop settings it is not being shown. If the desktop is set to
folderview the oem-icon appears.

[Bug 1447144] Re: oem-config forgets to update /etc/sddm.conf

2015-07-28 Thread lordievader
It's in Wily Alpha2 still present. Perhaps the fact that I am running a KVM vm
has something to do with this bug?
Also I manually need to start the oem-prepare script.

[Bug 1447144] [NEW] oem-config forgets to update /etc/sddm.conf

2015-04-22 Thread lordievader
Public bug reported:

After running the oem-config wizard the file /etc/sddm.conf is not updated.
Causing sddm to fail after a reboot since it tries to autologin as the user
oem, but that user doesn't exist.
Removing the /etc/sddm.conf file and restarting sddm fixes the problem.

[Bug 1413521] Re: oem config not shown first boot

2015-02-26 Thread lordievader
I just did an install of Vivid Beta1. The same problem exists. However this
time there is a Prepare for shipping in the menu.
Clicking this results in the asking of the password and further nothing.

Opening the Konsole and running oem-config-prepare gives as output
that it will run on the next boot. However after a reboot the oem user
is logged in an no prepare for shipping wizard is shown.

The oem-installer crashes in the last step (setting up user info, etc).

error window.

[Bug 1354679] [NEW] Intitialisation of encrypted volume failed

Public bug reported:

Using the Kubuntu Utopic daily iso of 2014-08-09 the option 'Guided -

Both the i386 and amd64 images of Kubuntu Precise 12.04.5 suffer from this.
It seems it doesn't clear the list only adds entries, i.e. the first time it is
correct the second time it is accessed file system types are listed twice.

[Bug 1254125] Re: Please update kscreen to 1.0.2.1

2013-12-03 Thread lordievader
Tested kscreen/libkscreen1 1.0.2.1-0ubuntu0.1 from saucy-proposed. I
only have one monitor here (an old 1280x1024 vga one), unplugged that
one. Updated the two packages through ssh. Plugged in the monitor,
1280x1024 was the detected/set resolution, in other words correct. Going
to the Display and Monitor settings and changing the resolution also
works without having the System Settings crash on me.

[Bug 1243817] [NEW] ibus crashes because of missing dependency

2013-10-23 Thread lordievader
Public bug reported:

Starting ibus-setup on a Kubuntu machine (14.04) results in the
following error:

from gi.repository import Gtk
ImportError: cannot import name Gtk

It turns out after installing the package gir1.2-gtk-3.0 everything works
fine.
So perhaps gir1.2-gtk-3.0 needs to be added to the dependencies?

Description:Ubuntu Trusty Tahr (development branch)

[Bug 1223299] Re: jockey-kde crashes right away

2013-09-13 Thread lordievader
I had a feeling that would happen. The package python-apt is updated,
in this new version a few deprecated calls/functions are removed and
jockey depends on those removed functions.

[Bug 1142243] [NEW] black screen on connecting external monitor

2013-03-03 Thread lordievader
Public bug reported:

Connecting an external VGA monitor to my laptop resulted in a black screen,
both on the build-in display and the external monitor.
The fix, for me, was to hit alt+t (selects the 'Try Automatically' option in

Ubuntu version: Kubuntu Raring, with the latest updates.

[Bug 1123126] [NEW] plasma-desktop not running init script from k-d-s

2013-02-12 Thread lordievader
Public bug reported:

The folder-view widget with the installer link is not present on the
desktop of the Kubuntu 12.04.2 live-cd (20130211). On both the i386 and
amd64 is the folder-view widget missing from the desktop.

This is caused by plasma-desktop running upstream's init script
/usr/share/kde4/apps/plasma-desktop/init/00-defaultLayout.js
on first run instead of the one from kubuntu-default-settings
/usr/share/kubuntu-default-settings/kde4-profile/default/share/apps/plasma-desktop/init/00-defaultLayout.js

Ubuntu version: Kubuntu 12.04.2 live-cd (20130211)
What is expected: On the desktop there should be a folder-view widget with a
link to the installer (ubiquity).
What happend instead: The folder-view widget is missing from the desktop.

[Bug 1119440] [NEW] Ubiquity crashes after manual partitioning

2013-02-08 Thread lordievader
Public bug reported:

Testing the Precise 12.04.2 amd64 image, this trough a live-usb made with
Unetbootin.
Selecting Try Kubuntu and then starting Ubiquity causes Ubiquity to crash
after the manual partition step.
When selecting Install Kubuntu Ubiquity works fine and does not crash.

In both cases I tried to make 2 partitions out of free space, swap space
was already on the drive.
