no, but I am behind a sonicwall firewall with packet filtering. That can cause latency and has been known to crash programs in the windows world.. Re: [Bug 136308] Re: Sound doesn't work on ATI SB450 HDA Audio using 2.6.20-16 kernel (but 2.6.20-15 works fine)
They have a fix for this bug but do not include it because it does render the OS unstable when applied. Re: [Bug 136308] Re: Sound doesn't work on ATI SB450 HDA Audio using 2.6.20-16 kernel (but 2.6.20-15 works fine)
It will never be a fix, the ATI SB450 is an AC97 codec chipset designed for windows. Its a super crappy sound card, Ubuntu purposely will not fix this because when its working it makes the system unstable. [Bug 17216] Re: Hard drive spindown should be configurable
I have a Toshiba a105-s171 with the same issue. its like my hard drive goes to spin down every 10 seconds and then comes back up again. this causes the machine to act jerky. I think a configurable power management control panel would be great. this way we can choose when the drive goes down or how to throttle the cpu etc -- Hard drive spindown should be configurable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/17216 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
