[Bug 2077843] Re: Failure to detect i2c device on Mering
I inspected test results and noticed that this passed with kernel 5.15.0-118.128, but failed with 5.15.0-121.131 (jammy). I inspected kernel changes between these versions and didn't notice any changes that would impact either i915 or its i2c interface or i2cdetect userspace library. Kevin Yeh, from the certification team, suspected that this might be missing edid emulator on mering device and afterwards confirmed that this is not a regression. Just now, i2cdetect tests passed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2077843 Title: Failure to detect i2c device on Mering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kernel-sru-workflow/+bug/2077843/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 2076213] [NEW] eventinj ubuntu_kvm_unit_test bionic:oracle-5.4 flaky "vec 32/int $33"
Public bug reported: Found with bionic:linux-oracle-5.4 (5.4.0-1129.138~18.04.1) on Oracle:VM.Standard.E3.Flex-4c.8m for 2024.07.08 cycle. eventinj test failed (see the following log) due to interrupt handler for a NMI (int $33) not running before interrupt handler for a maskable interrupt (vec 32). In test, NMI is send immediately after enabling maskable interrupts with the following sequence asm volatile ("sti; int $33"); in line 313. After "sti" instruction (which enables interrupts) there is a delay for next instruction to execute. However, it is also stated in Intel® 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer’s Manual ( https://software.intel.com/en-us/download/intel-64-and- ia-32-architectures-sdm-combined- volumes-1-2a-2b-2c-2d-3a-3b-3c-3d-and-4): "The IF flag and the STI and CLI instructions do not prohibit the generation of exceptions and nonmaskable interrupts (NMIs). However, NMIs (and system-management interrupts) may be inhibited on the instruction boundary following an execution of STI that begins with IF = 0." This test passed after 4 runs, first 3 runs failed in the same way (see logs below). This could be that test is either flaky (more likely) or we have a race condition (less likely, can be caused by lack of memory/instruction barriers). This test is hinted for focal:linux- oracle-5.15 (5.15.0-1063) for the same reason which leans toward test being flaky. [Bug 1870736] Re: [nvidia] Screen scaling 125% gives 200%
Fractional scaling also works again for me after the update. Only problem I now have is some freezing / lag when I watch 4k videos (e.g. via YouTube) I tried different browsers, 4K videos play a bit better on chrome (less lag) then on Firefox. [Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat
I'm sorry for flooding this thread, but I have more experience to share. After another reboot in "clocksource=jiffies" mode, I saw that 1 OS second passes in real 0.5 seconds. But the rest of the system was pretty stable. Keyboard auto-repeat was twice as fast, but did not get triggered inadvertently. I did another reboot in "clocksource=jiffies" mode and opened the online clock application. Initially the clock speed seemed normal. After 20-30 seconds it became twice as fast. Then from the console, I started an application with an infinite loop therein. That made the clock seconds turn very very fast. Probably CPU speed has influence here. Good news is that when I changed the boot option to "clocksource=tsc", I got stable results even after a few reboots. Seconds seem to pass as fast as they should be. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124406 Title: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/emacs/+bug/124406/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 124406] Re: Keyboard keys get stuck and repeat
(Note: I intentionally don't fix repeated characters cccassee by that issue in my message below) I'm affected by ttthhhee sssame issue. Initially I have installed Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS. While installing it, I had to add the boot parameter "acpi=off" in grub settings (both for the installer anddfor booting of the installed OS). Otherwise, I got a freeze on boot. aafter installation, I got this probleee. But next to issues with repeated keys, I got temporary freezes in firefox. I see that sometimes the caret is applicaatioons flickers too fast (and that is when I get repeated characters). And other strange issues. I opened a clock application in https://www.online-stopwatch.com/online- clock/ and I saw that the speed offf the "seconds" needle is not regular, and it sometimes moves backward bbb 10 to 15 seconds. There is really something wrong with system time. Then I have upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10, but it was the same (but I got additional issues because of the upgrade :( ). And the solution was the one from comment #356 from this thread ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/124406/comments/356 ), which adds a "clocksource=jiffies" boot option. I'm not done yet. Now I have a hang on Ubuntu shutdown ( https://askubuntu.com/questions/764568/ubuntu-16-04-hangs-on-shutdown- restart ), and the suggested solution there is ... forcing acpi in boot options :( I have no idea whether this issue is related my acpi issues.
[Bug 1574010] Re: Untranslated buttons in Synaptic
Hello, I am a mainstream Java developer with little experience on C++ and I am also not very familiar with the GTK Library for building GUI. I just like using Synaptic as package manager GUI however every time I have to click on Ok, Apply, Close or Cancel I feel sad about it. I have browsed your code base and find out that you have some predefined strings such as in following line for "Close" with "gtk-close" predefined value. http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~synaptic- developers/synaptic/trunk/view/head:/gtk/gtkbuilder/window_about.ui#L39 After I search on the internet for that "gtk-close" predefined value I have found that they are deprecated with GTK 3.10 https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/gtk3-Stock-Items.html#GTK-STOCK- CLOSE:CAPS If my assumption is correct then solution can be only adjusting the *.ui XML files related with the views. I have experience with other version control systems such as Git, CVS, SVN etc, I think handling bazaar would not be a big difference. If you wish I can try to solve this according to your guidance. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1574010 Title: Untranslated buttons in Synaptic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1574010/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
