[Bug 410466] Re: [karmic] Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown from within KDE
I get this if I have any CIFS folders mounted. Does it every single time unless I remember to manually umount the CIFS folders before shutdown. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kde4libs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410466 Title: [karmic] Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown from within KDE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kde-baseapps/+bug/410466/+subscriptions -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 756564] Re: After Maverick to Natty upgrade, grub won't boot and displays "symbol not found : 'grub_env_export'"
I had this problem as well/ I'm running soft raid with raid-0 on Intel chipset. Upgrade all completed, but upon reboot I got grub_env_export error. The problem is that the upgrade did not create a dmraid initrd image. I booted from live CD and CHROOTed. Then did: apt-get purge dmraid apt-get install dmraid grub install /dev/mapper/isw_jfijhfbah_MY_RAID update grub. Rebooted and everything was fine. Needless to say that this would be way beyond a non linux expert. I had exactly the same problem when I upgraded from Lucid to Maverick. So to have exactly the same problem when upgrading to narwhal is extremely disappointing. You need to start testing RAID installs and upgrades properly Ubuntu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/756564 Title: After Maverick to Natty upgrade, grub won't boot and displays "symbol not found : 'grub_env_export'" -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 498492] Re: Update manager hangs after clicking on the install updates button
I get this when I press the Check button. It pops the dialog showing it downloading the repositories. That dialog then exits, but update-manager remains all just greyed out. It stays like this until I kill it. If I run from the console I see the following error after the repository download dialog exits: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/UpdateManager/backend/InstallBackendSynaptic.py", line 37, in _on_synaptic_exit self.emit("action-done", action) TypeError: 2 parameters needed for signal action-done; 1 given I have tried apt-get purge update-manager-core and reinstalling, but it still does it. [Bug 634840] Re: grub does not detect partitions properly on DMRAID
I've just got it to work as well with the fix_dmraid.patch. I did not have libdevmapper-dev and libfreetype6-dev installed. Hi. I tried the fix_dmraid.patch, built grub2 from source and this still fails for me. [Bug 532436] Re: nvidia driver sometime does not load at boot
Update to #53. I spoke too soon. Next time I rebooted it hung in exactly the same way again. This is a real show stopper. My system just will not boot with the latest official 2.6.32-24-generic kernel. :( -- nvidia driver sometime does not load at boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532436 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 532436] Re: nvidia driver sometime does not load at boot
Hi. I upgraded to 2.6.32-24-generic via update manager. The machine then hung exactly as described in comment #49. I suspect the module build failed as I couldn't find it in the 2.6.32-24 modules when I booted using an older kernel. I then upgraded my NVidia drivers to 256.35-0ubuntu2~xup from PPA ubuntu X team as suggested in comment #47 (thanks VPablo!). I noticed it built the module for the running kernel and then the new 2.6.32-24 kernel. I rebooted and everything was fine. -- nvidia driver sometime does not load at boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/532436 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 410466] Re: [karmic] Unable to logout/reboot/shutdown from within KDE
I still have this problem too. 2.6.31-17-generic #54-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 10 17:01:44 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux KDE version is 4:4.3.4 None of the workarounds fix the problem for me.
