[Bug 1087097] [NEW] gThumb tries to open wrong device
Public bug reported: gThumb 3.0.2 on 12.10 amd64. When I place the SD card from my camera in the reader attached to my PC, and then choose "Import with gThumb" from the dialog that appears when the card is mounted, the import window opens and then puts up an error msgbox saying "Could not load the folder. [Bug 874146] Re: New windows open on the wrong monitor
I see this problem with some applications if I start them using the Unity launcher keyboard shortcut, but they're fine if started using the mouse. For example, if I use the mouse to start Chrome from the launcher on my RH monitor, then Chrome opens on that monitor. However, if I have the mouse pointer on the RH monitor, and use Super+9 to start Chrome, then Chrome opens on the LH monitor. As I have the launchers set to autohide, I know that chrome is being started by the RH launcher, as that is the one that appears when I press Super. [Bug 958291] [NEW] Bad path autocomplete on some commands
Public bug reported: With some commands, the autocomplete of path information doesn't work correctly in 12.04 beta (up to date as of earlier today). For example, if I enter "cd /ho" and press Tab, then autocomplete gives me "cd /home/", which is what should happen, ready for the next part of the path. However, if I enter "cat /ho" and press Tab, it autocompletes to "cat /home ", with a space after home and no "/", which means I have to hit backspace and then slash before I can continue with the path. Problem happens both with the shell from a text mode login and with gnome-terminal in a GUI session. This inconsistent path completion does not happen with the 10.04 installation I also run. [Bug 650539] Re: Launching QT apps under Xinerama crashes Xorg : affects SpeedCrunch, KeePassX, Lucky Backup, Pencil, Stellarium, Skype, Google Earth, VLC, Konqueror, VirtualBox, Opera ...
I have this problem with a dual monitor setup. Happens for me with VirtualBox and Frescobaldi as soon as the mouse goes into the app window when it is started. When I look at Xorg.0.log.old immediately after logging in on the X restart, I see the following near the end of the log: == Backtrace: [ 763.337] 0: /usr/bin/X (xorg_backtrace+0x28) [0x4a0fa8] [ 763.337] 1: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x60fcd) [0x460fcd] [ 763.337] 2: /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x7f2f849ff000+0xfb40) [0x7f2f84a0eb40] [ 763.337] 3: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0xbb22f) [0x4bb22f] [ 763.337] 4: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x2c2d9) [0x42c2d9] [ 763.338] 5: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x2184b) [0x42184b] [ 763.338] 6: /lib/libc.so.6 (__libc_start_main+0xfe) [0x7f2f8396ad8e] [ 763.338] 7: /usr/bin/X (0x40+0x213d9) [0x4213d9] [ 763.338] Segmentation fault at address 0x4 [ 763.338] Caught signal 11 (Segmentation fault). RE: [Bug 479597] Re: HP Mini 311 - Does not always boot
woa, that is a lot of update information! :) It sounds like your are enjoying some success (reliable boot up behavior, mouse works, located proprietary drivers). So the issue remaining is configuring the wireless connectivity properly?? Is there a GUI to help you configure the WLAN rather than using the command terminal? I was able to use the GUI to configure my connections. I am a new convert to linux so I am not up to speed on their version of ipconfig or I would be able to help you with more detail. > Date: Wed, 5 May 2010 05:15:53 + > From: mtig...@gmail.com > To: npayn...@hotmail.com > Subject: [Bug 479597] Re: HP Mini 311 - Does not always boot > > Sorry to add so many messages to this thread, just wanted to give an > update, and hopefully, and more knowledgable soul can help > > I added these three lines to blacklist.conf > > blacklist ssb > blacklist b43 > blacklist b43-pci-bridge > > It still hangs on boot. I have a similar problem with a Dell 2407 (1920x1200) primary monitor and Dell 1905 (1280x1024) secondary monitor. I can get the primary monitor to display at 1920x1200, but the Gnome panel at top of screen and the bottom panel are sized and positioned as if the screen is 1280x1024 - ie the top panel only extends part way across the screen and ditto for the bottom panel which is also positioned part way up the screen as it it was only 1024 pixels high.
