[Bug 1292989] Re: [Dell Inc. Inspiron 1525] suspend/resume failure [non-free: wl]
As suggested in Bug #1276700 and Bug #1284899 I installed linux- image-3.14.0-031400rc6-generic_3.14.0-031400rc6.201403100035_amd64 as described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds and got the results following: "When lid is closed" * "Do Nothing" - Worked * "Suspend" - Made the screen go black after opening the lid. However, after uninstalling linux- image-3.14.0-031400rc6-generic_3.14.0-031400rc6.201403100035_amd64 I installed xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-saucy I got the results following: "When lid is closed" * "Do Nothing" - Worked * "Suspend" - Made the screen go black after opening the lid. It would appear that with xserver-xorg-video-intel-lts-saucy installed I can close the lid without the screen going black. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292989 Title: [Dell Inc. [Bug 631032] Re: unable to connect to picasaweb due to special characters in password
Just wanted to mention that I reported this directly to http://trac.yorba.org/ticket/2530 before I was linked to this bug for the same problem. I use a '+' in my password to Picasa Web Albums. I don't want to change my password right now to test it out. I can tell you that I use the same password for my Flickr account and successfully publish to web. When this gets fixed in another release I will test it and respond back. Hope this info helps in any way. Thanks for your bug report and for your contribution to ubuntu. In order to determine if this issue is usplash related, would you boot your computer with usplash disabled and then shutdown to see if you can reproduce the issue? To disable usplash for a single boot, you can follow these steps : 1.Press Esc during Grub boot delay to access the boot menu. 2.Select your actual Ubuntu boot line and press "e" to edit it. 3.Select the "kernel" line and press "e" to edit it. 4.At the end of the line, remove "splash" and "quiet" and press "enter". 5.Type "b" to boot the custom boot line. Also, could you include info on whether or not you had this problem during a boot up after a install to the hard disk or if this was in a LiveCD environment? ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- Via driver crashes on startup (ubuntu 8.10) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316781 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 316827] Re: i cant mount my hard-disk
Hi there :) Thank you for taking the time to help make Ubuntu better. In order to make clear some of the info listed and determine the package(s) causing the problems in your bug report would you answer the following: 1. Is this the first time you have installed the wine package on this same computer? 2. What wine package did you install? What repo did you install the wine package from? 3. Did you loose the desktop icons for all fixed and removable drives? 4. Have you attempted to uninstall the wine package to see if the problem is reversed? 5. Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the wine package to see if happens again? The aforementioned questions were the first that I thought of when I first read your bug report and in trying to determine what package this bug should fall under. Hope this helps. -- i cant mount my hard-disk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316827 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 316099] Re: Copy/Past doesn't work with remote connection feature
Hi there, Thanks for helping to make Ubuntu better. In order more clearly understand what packages you're describing in your bug report would you answer the following: 1. What "Remote Desktop" package is being used? Is it Gnome Remote Desktop Server? Is it Terminal Server Client? 2. What vnc clients package is being used? Is it Remote Desktop Viewer (or vinagre)? Make note of what is being used when the copy/paste issue is happening and respond back to this bug when you have more info. [Bug 125486] Re: user-dirs-update-gtk.desktop autostart file needs comment, proper capitalization
I came across this bug post while trying to find out what exactly the User Folders Update service does. As it still has No Description after installing Gutsy from the release version from, 10/18/07, I am still wondering what it does. I have been trying to figure out why my Core 2 Duo CPU freezes up while in normal operation. I thought about how the Beagle service took a lesser amount of CPU after disabling it when I installed Feisty some time ago and have done nearly the same with the Tracker service in Gutsy. If the User Folders Update service performs indexing with the intensity that Beagle and/or the Tracker services do I would like to disable it. However, if the User Folders Update service is required for Fast User Switching then I will leave it alone. At this point I am just trying to whittle away at what could be the culprit. Any ideas would be appreciated even if it is to explain what the User Folders Update service does.
