[Bug 803799] [NEW] Network Manager Applet shows (in list of VPN connections) that is still connected, after connection release.
Public bug reported: I connect to VPN from network manager applet (click on VPN connections and choose VPN to connect to) and do some work. After a while i disconnect from VPN via clicking on Disconnect and connection is released (it is not active anymore, i am not able to ping any of remote servers), small lock icon over the network manager applet's icon disappeared, but connection is still alive in VPN connection list. I am not able to choose another VPN untill i kill nm-applet and run it again. [Bug 802070] [NEW] 11.04: partman crashes during install on RaisorFS with non-emply journal
Public bug reported: During installation of 11.04, over old system I had, the isntall failed every time with user-visible error ubi-partman failed with exit code 141 before showing partitioning options. The last line in the syslog is: IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/var/lib/partman/outfifo' Syslog also complained before the crash about being unable to mount RaserFS partition due non-empty journal. The syslog contained entries similar to: ubuntu kernel: [ 2868.927014] REISERFS warning (device sda6): clm-2076 journal_read_transaction: device is readonly, unable to replay log ubuntu kernel: [ 2868.927022] REISERFS warning (device sda6): reiserfs-2006 journal_init: Replay Failure, unable to mount ubuntu kernel: [ 2868.927117] REISERFS warning (device sda6): sh-2022 reiserfs_fill_super: unable to initialize journal space ubuntu ubiquity: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda6, Eventually, I've found a workaround (which also proved connection): manually mounting than unmount each of the problematic volumes (straight from the installer) immediately fixed the problem, and re-run of the failed state succeeded. I looked at the source corresponding to the address of hpcups function call in the stack trace. The source code around the call looks good, particularly with heap management functions. Neither I see multiple versions of libc loaded. So, could you please provide me the following information for further analysis. 1. The log file /var/log/syslog. You can follow the below steps to get the log file. (a) Open the file /etc/cups/cupsd.conf 1. Set LogLevel to debug and hpLogLevel to 15 2. Save the changes in the file. (b) Run the command : sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart If it doesn’t work, please use : su –c “/etc/init.d/cups restart” (c) Run your test case (d) Find the file /var/log/syslog and send it to us. 2. strace log for hpcups process Also, you may want to try installing HPLIP from http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/index.html once. unfortunately the bug is still not fixed for me. The symptoms are still the same. I took a look at the linked branch, specifically at commit 1046 and as far as I can tell, it just tries to fix the initial display of the icons. [Bug 691953] Re: Uninstalling Evolution removes calendar from clock applet
actually a calendar daemon is not needed to display the calendar widget. There is just a stupid check in the code whether evolution is installed, preventing the calendar to be displayed.
