The icons are there, but not visible in gnome. if gnome crashes they are visible again. This is not only a maveric related bug. I think either there is something wrong in the gnome menu or the ratio of the image files for the icons may be off and then Gnome won't display them. I can reproduce it many times. Is it possible my ubuntu installation got completely corrupted because i have issues with. 1. graphic (no 3d, program closesinstantly when i get to the 3d part) 2. Empathy (screen name, some contactsare offline while they are talking to me) 3. Gwibber (i only have US network and i live in Norway. that limits the posts in facebook(gwibber) to 10 persons) 4. wacom install (install copmpletes, wacom don't work) 5. panels going crazy(some areas disappear some multiplies themselves, and some goes on top of each other, its different every session) 6. i cant remove game menu entries 7. wine runs sluggish, prob related to 1. 8. remote desktop shows localhost's ip adress 9. i can't get into the bank. java? 10. remote desktop shows localhost twice instead of the ip i need to make other connect. ifconfig also shows localhost. localhost.xx and 10.0.0.01(or something) 11. pitivi dosent encode mp4 12. when im offline and gwibber is running my cpu is 95-100% when i shut it down it drops to 20%-45%. 13. my keyboard is configured strangely. i cant type * or right-shift left-arrow to mark stuff i cant left-shift right-arrow i cant left-shif+ctrl right mark stuff i have to use left shift when im marking, but right shift works normal for everything else exept for * this is confusing. Im using the standard Norwegian layout. 14. i can't copy files to a usb then copy them over to my other computer. Suspend/hibernate also triggers itself. i ran this test: Suspend/hibernate Click Test to switch to another virtual terminal and then back to X. Your screen will change temporarily to a text console and then switch back to your current session. Note that this test may require you to enter your password. Did the screen change temporarily to a text console? It did temporary and then it suspended/hibernated, then it broke my network. Ubuntu one isn't working at all. I formated the computer than i could see some files in that exact same computer when i logged in but not on the other one. But it was just a empty folder and a zip i was not allowed to open.
