[Bug 409335] Re: JeOS 9.04 sudo on login

2009-09-08 Thread quentusrex
This IS a bug. The bug is that after EVERY login it requires sudo
prompt.

The problem is that the method used for checking if it's first login is
faulty. It should either check some way that doesn't require sudo, or it
should remove the check after it proves it isn't first login.

[Bug 426014] [NEW] Kernel panic when trying to provision kvm virtual server onto nfs drive

2009-09-07 Thread quentusrex
Public bug reported:

I can reproduce the bug easily. I just try to provision a virtual kvm server
onto a nfs mounted share. It gets to the point: 2009-09-07 16:36:28,372 INFO
 Converting /tmp/vmbuilderPlvwcH/disk0.img to qcow2, format
/mnt/kvm/virtservers/testing/disk0.qcow2
2009-09-07 16:36:28,372 DEBUG['/usr/bin/kvm-img', 'convert', '-O', 'qcow2',
'/tmp/vmbuilderPlvwcH/disk0.img', '/mnt/kvm/virtservers/testing/disk0.qcow2']

Then it kernel panics.

[Bug 351365] Re: Libvirt detection of KVM 64 bit abilities is broke

2009-03-30 Thread quentusrex
Alright, to fix this issue, here is a work around:

Either edit the files directly for your 'guests' in
/etc/libvirt/qemu/*.xml

or you just run the command virsh edit domain

To see a list of the domains do: virsh list

Now, just edit the arch to what it needs to be. For me I had to edit
from 'i686' to 'x86_64'.

[Bug 351307] [NEW] Libvirt NFS mount on boot.

2009-03-29 Thread quentusrex
Public bug reported:

I have setup /etc/fstab to mount the nfs share on boot. I then realized
that it wasn't being mounted on boot, but that I could mount the nfs
drive with 'sudo mount -a' after boot. So I added mount -a to rc.local.

libvirt fails to start if an image is on a remote nfs drive that isn't
mounted yet. especially when the virtual image is set to auto start.

[Bug 337551] Re: [intrepid] kernel bug

2009-03-04 Thread quentusrex
The 'error' was that the virtual server was extremely slow. Taking over
200 seconds to boot, when the physical server takes only about 14
seconds. I eventually found the problem. the module kvm_intel wasn't
being loaded by the physical server, and so the virtualization was
extremely inefficient. It turns out it was a bios update that switched
the virtualization off in the bios. Once that was changed back, all the
problems went away.

The warning was the only thing I could find that might point to what
could be wrong. Until I checked and found that there was no file:
/dev/kvm, and modprobe kvm_intel gave an error. Then a tail of dmesg
showed that the bios setting was wrong.

I have the exact same problem, but I don't think it's with only vlc. If
I have last.fm open, I can't play any movies with gstreamer. Even if
last.fm isn't playing any music, I still can't get gstreamer to play the
video properly, instead it plays at 1/20th of normal pace. Or if I open
the movies with vlc, then I get no sound. But if I close last.fm then
everything works just fine. Both vlc and gstreamer work.

and I get the same as VLC Then randomly after I have copied it to my
workstations hard drive after many attempts to play the video, it
finally works and I can play the file with full audio at normal
speed

I can easily repeat the problem. and it only started in the last few
days.

[Bug 221675] [NEW] video playback color wrong

2008-04-24 Thread quentusrex
Public bug reported:

Recently after an update all video files have poor color play back in
videos. People look green. Stuff is purple that shouldn't be. The
desktop looks fine, and jpegs look fine, but video play back isn't.

[Bug 199415] Re: [hardy][gvfs-smb] Some applications do not working with protectetd smb-share

2008-04-01 Thread quentusrex
I have the exact same problem It's an ubuntu hardy bug... If it
isn't gvfs, than what is it??? The problem is that userspace
applications can't open files on a password protected samba share, even
though I go to 'connect to server' and mount the share.
