[Bug 434688] Re: support emacs23
I agree, it would be easier for me me if the auctex package depended on emacs (= 21) | emacs-snapshot -- support emacs23 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434688 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 308804] Re: after upgrade to intrepid unable to login in x, console login only
So, it turns out that the upgrade from hardy completely wiped out my xorg.conf file, setting everything to configured device instead of what it should be. And now running the various auto-fixers that come with ubuntu don't fix it, but i think i can figure it out. So, i still think this is a bug, but with the upgrade process, not the xorg driver. -- after upgrade to intrepid unable to login in x, console login only https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 308804] [NEW] after upgrade to intrepid unable to login in x, console login only
Public bug reported: Having just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 I can no longer load an X session, although it seems like I can log in: After startup, at the drumbeat chimes announcing the login screen, the screen is completely blank. However, I can type in my username/password in order and get the login music with a blank screen, so it seems like the desktop itself is working. And I can log into a virtual terminal and get full access to my system. I'm using a Radeon HD 2400 graphics card, it seems like there are lots of similar problems for people with nvidia cards (e.g. when I run startx from a term i get exactly the same error message as message #11 here [ http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=964649page=2 ] (except with a different username). Attached is a tarball of lspci, startx stderr, and lshw. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- after upgrade to intrepid unable to login in x, console login only https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 42678] Re: Logitech MX500 mouse forward/back buttons not detected
While this is one of the absolute most irritating things about installing--and often updating--any distro, to be fair to the devs, windows needs an install CD to get every mouse I've ever bought working, and I've never used a mac with more than 3 buttons. Although that ball- thing in the middle of some of them is totally, ridiculously, sweet. That said, looking forward to the day when I don't have to spend hours googling for the hack that doesn't break something weird. -- Logitech MX500 mouse forward/back buttons not detected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/42678 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 108527] Re: X freezes when compiz is enabled on ATI cards
Yeah, I read all the comments before i posted mine and since nobody had said anything that suggested that this was actually limited to ati i was trying to say that i think the bug name is inaccurate. If you look at this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=570184 you'll see that people are having this problem on all sorts of hardware configurations. It does seem like compiz makes it worse, though. -- X freezes when compiz is enabled on ATI cards https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 108527] Re: X freezes when compiz is enabled on ATI cards
I'm getting the same problem, but i don't have compiz or ati. It won't _let_ me use compiz, even though it was working in feisty. Symptoms are the bad ones: Everything freezes for no apparent reason, with no apparent regularity and with no warning. Mouse doesn't work, neither does ctrl+alt+backspace. I left it frozen for 2+ hours once just to check if it would start back up on its own, but no such luck. My Setup: Some HP from January. Intel Core2duo Intel Integrated graphics (Intel Corporation 82G965 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) ) Software: Like i said, no compiz. Everything installed from repositories. The only config that i've done that i could even imagine having this effect is that when i installed imwheel i touched xorg.conf, but nothing visual, just the mouse stuff.
