[Bug 1885456] [NEW] Ubiquity doesn't allow leaving free space available when encrypting the disk

2020-06-28 Thread Raul
Public bug reported:

It only allows full encrypt disk and this also makes way to difficult to
have a dual boot with Windows.

Fedora's Anaconda installer allows you to leave some space if you want
to create a backup partition and possibly a dual boot with Windows
easily, but I haven't tested this yet.

[Bug 1881188] [NEW] Skype snap app doesn't remember logins, signing out and choosing "remember on this device" doesn't nothing

2020-05-28 Thread Raul Gomes
Public bug reported:

Skype snap app doesn't remember logins, signing out and choosing
"remember on this device" doesn't nothing. I think it's because the snap
version lacks gnome-keyring, because the deb from skype.com has gnome-
keyring as a dependecy.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Kubuntu 20.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
8.60.0.76 2020-05-18 (128) 182MB classic

3) What you expected to happen
Autosave logins.

4) What happened instead
Every time Skype is closed I have to re-enter credentials.

[Bug 1858200] [NEW] pulseaudio produces garbage on HDMI after 19.10

2020-01-03 Thread Raul Dias
Public bug reported:

After upgrading from 19.04 to 19.10, the sound output to HDMI is
garbage.

The sound is great on local output, on bluetooth headphones, etc. But
when outputting to a HDMI TV it is garbage.

I tried different users with the same problem.

If I boot on Windows, the output is fine, which discards any physical
problem, cables and TV as the source of the problem.

I did delete any user pulseaudio configuration (and tried as a different
one).

I purged all system wide configuration and reinstalled the default
pulseaudio configs with:

apt-get -o DPkg::options::=--force-confmiss --reinstall install
pulseaudio

On 19.04 and before this problem did not happen at all.

[Bug 1792085] Re: MTP not working/very slow on Bionic

2019-12-22 Thread Raul Manoel
Same problem on Ubuntu 19.10 and galaxy S9 plus. I tried to play some videos
via usb cable and during the transfer Ubuntu froze the screen. I was forced to
remove the usb cable without ejecting the smartphone. = /

Sad to see that this bug has been reported for over a year and has not
been resolved.

Re: [Bug 1817072] Re: WiFi connnectivity loses

2019-03-06 Thread Raul Angel Gaggioli
Hi Kai, i have not knowledge to prove new kernels on my notebook, sorry.
In my case, was a "dirty solutions" this:On my router:1) Change security to
WPA2-AES 2) Not any mixed mode, i.e. only "N" mode3) Not auto-channel but set
to a fixed channelOn my notebook:1) options iwlwifi 11n_disable=8
With this, connection is stable in my home and office but when i am in any
public place, it depends...
If this issue is not resolved my next upgrade wil be made with other linux
distributions. This problem is very upset for the final users, not programmers,
like me. Sorry again.

[Bug 1803357] [NEW] akonadi-server should not depend explicitly on akonadi-backend-mysql

[Bug 1793334] [NEW] Chromium does not pick default pulseaudio sink

2018-09-19 Thread Raul Dias
Public bug reported:

When changing the default sink (builtin audio) to USB audio (PCM2902)
headphone, all desktop uses the new default sink.
All but Chromium (and Chrome).
For both Chromium (and Chrome), I have to change the output device in the
application tab (PA). As soon as the audio pauses in Chrome/Chromium, it will
resume in the builtin output audio device sink. This happens on a per tab
basis (probably different process).

** Description changed:

After upgrading my office machines to 18.04, some machines did not start
  the GDM3.

After some testing the problem was that the ones that it did not work,
had SDDM installed too (KDE environment in those machines).

The upgrade were from 17.10 and 16.04.

Note that reistalling sddm, gdm3, lightdm, dpkg-reconfigure gdm3, none
  worked.

On gdm3 side: systemctl is-active gdm3 reports static (which might be
  the problem).

After removing sddm and rebooting, everything worked as expected.

[Bug 1748000] Re: Remove from the archive: this legacy driver is unmaintained upstream

2018-05-08 Thread Raul Dias
I have a lot of computers in my office that needs this drive to work.
Neither Nouveau or VESA works with them.
If this decision persists I will have to move to another distribution (which I
hope to avoid).

[Bug 1761773] Re: Touch Screen stop working on 18.04 beta1

The simplest solution was to add the configuration:

Section "InputClass"

MatchUSBID "1926:0003"
Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Removing xserver-xorg-input-libinput did the tricky.
Now it uses evdev. However, that shouldn't need be necessary.

[Bug 1761773] Re: Touch Screen stop working on 18.04 beta1

2018-04-10 Thread Raul Dias
The problem might also involve udev, as by these lines:

[ 800.429] (II) event5 - NextWindow Touchscreen: is tagged by udev as: Tablet
[ 800.429] (EE) event5 - NextWindow Touchscreen: libinput bug: missing
tablet capabilities: btn-stylus resolution.Ignoring this device.
[ 800.429] (II) event5 - NextWindow Touchscreen: device is a tablet
[ 800.429] (II) event5 - failed to create input device '/dev/input/event5'.

udev should recognize as TouchScreen, not Tablet.

On previous Xorgs, evdev was used, not libinput.

It definitely still is a bug, since changing the setting (albeit in a
hidden away config file) has no effect. That said, this bug still very
much exists and annoys me.

[Bug 1628260] [NEW] Upgrade libglew package to also include libglew2

2016-09-27 Thread Raul Tambre
Public bug reported:

Currently glew package only includes versions up to 1.13, but the latest
release is 2.0. As a developer, it would be best to have libglew2 and
libglew2-dev available on Ubuntu. See http://glew.sourceforge.net/ for
more information about the new (and previous) version(s).

[Bug 1568339] Re: Libreoffice does not update printer list

2016-04-25 Thread Raul Dias
I did some digging and the printer list is pulled when I first hit
CONTROL-P (File->Print).

So, if I change the client.conf before trying to use the printer, it will get
the current list even after it has started up.
It will not update any time later on.

The Libreoffice Printer Dialog is still the attached to comment #2.
The printer list is not refreshed. Some libreoffice internal cache.

3 - Close every instance of libreoffice running and start it again.

The Libreoffice Printer Dialog is the attached to comment #3.
This is what was expected on step 2.

This seems to be the same bug in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/911235,
except that it does not work in this situation.

As I mentioned, this is present for many years now.

[Bug 1568339] [NEW] Libreoffice does not update printer list

2016-04-09 Thread Raul Dias
Public bug reported:

When Libreoffice is started it reads the printer list and saves it.
When there is a change related to cups (new printers) or change the cups
server, libreoffice needs to be restarted (all insteances) to acknowledge the
new printers.

When I change offices, I need to update the /etc/cups/client.conf (or use a
localhost cups server at home).
If I have libreoffice open, it will not find any printer.

This is a duplicated issue of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/911235
But that was focused on a specific printer model while the problem is more
abroad.

I have seen it from 12.04 to 15.10.
Libreoffice 3.x to 5.x

[Bug 1554647] Re: sort -n -t, partially ignores field boundaries

2016-03-08 Thread Raul Miller
It looks like LC_NUMERIC=C addresses this issue, but LC_NUMERIC is not
mentioned in the man page.

Possibly it would be sufficient to mention LC_NUMERIC in the man page.
(Though even locale(5) does not seem to adequately describe this env
var).

expect_unbuffer hangs instead of functioning properly.

For example, consider this command line:

   cal | expect_unbuffer wc | cat

That command line does not complete after 10 seconds while

   cal | wc | cat

completes in significantly less than 0.01 seconds.

Running expect_unbuffer under strace -ff yields traces with these tails
for non-exited processes:

[Bug 1519991] Re: Network-manager freezes system and the song that's playing

2015-11-30 Thread Raul
I found a way to reproduce this bug via terminal!

3. Running
nmcli r all on / nmcli r all off

OR running rfkill block wlan / rfkill unblock wlan (then the wi-fi
networks won't appear and you have to run sudo service network-manager
restart)

** Description changed:

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System
  -> About Ubuntu

  Description: Ubuntu 15.10

Connection remain stable, without lags and randomly disconnects.

  4) What happened instead

  a. Wi-Fi randomly disconnects (dmesg shows Reason 3: DEAUTH LEAVING)
  b. Pages doesn't load properly. They load without CSS or without some images.
  c. Network-manager freezes system when I disconnect from my network and
freezes the song that's playing (like a DJ hahaha), either in Rhythmbox or
Banshee.
  d. Connection becomes unstable after some time, especially after suspend.
  e. Network-manager applet doesn't show available networks after I disconnect,
only showing after running "sudo service network-manager restart" command.

[Bug 1519991] Re: Wi-Fi unstable, with randomly disconnects and enable/disable wi-fi freezes the song that's playing

2015-11-30 Thread Raul
YES! I found the way to reproduce the bug!!!

sudo su

nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on ; service network-manager restart ;
nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on ; service network-manager restart

** Description changed:

  1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System
  -> About Ubuntu

  Description: Ubuntu 15.10
  Release: 15.10

  2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy
pkgname' or by checking in Software Center

  network-manager:
    Installed: 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1
    Candidate: 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1
    Version table:
   *** 1.0.4-0ubuntu5.1 0

Packages
  100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
   1.0.4-0ubuntu5 0
  500 http://br.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages

  3) What you expected to happen

Connection remain stable, without lags and randomly disconnects.

  4) What happened instead

  a. Wi-Fi randomly disconnects (dmesg shows Reason 3: DEAUTH LEAVING)
  b. Pages doesn't load properly. They load without CSS or without some images.
  c. Enable/disable airplane mode or running nmcli freezes the song that's
playing (like a DJ hahaha) and boosts the CPU usage.
  d. Connection becomes unstable after some time, especially after suspend.
  e. Network-manager applet doesn't show available networks after I disconnect,
only showing after running "sudo service network-manager restart" command.

  5) Steps that may help to reproduce the bug:
  1. Play some music. Enable and disable air plane mode constantly (if you have
an air plane button in your keyboard).

  2. Play some music. Go to "edit connections". Forget the network, wait 5
seconds then enable and immediately disable air plane mode. This doesn't
  occur always.

  3. Running
- nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on
+ sudo su

- If the song doesn't freeze, run "nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on ; sudo
- service network-manager restart ; nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on ;
- sudo service network-manager restart"
+ nmcli r all off ; nmcli r all on ; service network-manager restart ;
