[Bug 541058] Re: [->UUIDudev] mdadm fails to automatically assemble raid during boot (without mdadm.conf)
Just an update for everyone interested. I solved my issue by one(or multiple) of the following steps. Failing my sdc disk, pasting new superblock, writing new boot sector, partitioning again and adding the disk back. So I am still not sure what caused my problem except I am fairly sure that my 2nd disk had a previous superblock that confused things. Disk was used in another system as part of a md array. What showed me the issue was "mdadm -Es". It showed me two arrays that can be assembled. Sorry I can not be more helpful except you should run mdadm -Es early on and avoid a lot of tail chasing. If you are seeing an array you did not expect that will cause the problems with "--incremental" when booting up. Before I fixed the issue I was seeing this: root@jamaica:~# mdadm --examine --scan ARRAY /dev/md0 UUID=5551e210:6dbc9e1b:2aa365fc:c3f97a4c ARRAY /dev/md0 UUID=4795c86a:79111507:dbd3f904:98c17f24 After: root@jamaica:~# mdadm --examine --scan ARRAY /dev/md0 UUID=4795c86a:79111507:dbd3f904:98c17f24 Also worth noting is my superblock is 0.90. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/541058 Title: [->UUIDudev] mdadm fails to automatically assemble raid during boot (without mdadm.conf) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mdadm/+bug/541058/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 683717] Re: Openoffice Calc Comments Dissapears
Not resolved. I did not try the PPA version just LibreOffice 3.3.1 from Ubuntu 11.04. root@guest-VirtualBox:/home/guest# cat /etc/issue Ubuntu natty (development branch) \n \l root@guest-VirtualBox:/home/guest# aptitude show libreoffice-calc | grep Version Version: 1:3.3.1-1ubuntu3 How to reproduce: Open LibreOffice spreadsheet > Right Click in any cell > Insert Comment > Type your test comment > Click in a different cell > Save As > File Type > Office Open XML Spreadsheet(.xlsx) Open the saved sheet and cell comment is gone. Another update. After a few more lockups I have gone back to not using the SSD for my root file system. So far no lockups. More information. Another lockup. Can ping host. Can not ssh in. This time Ctl-Alt-F1 gave me a console. Could not login but there was a ext4_fine_entry error. Also this is system is configured with / on an ADATA SSD S599 64GB disk. It is possible these problems started occurring after an update but also could be related to the EXT4 file system on a SSD. I see a somewhat related bug 453579 about ext4. IN addition I see there is some ext4 patches in 2.6.37-rc1called "ext4: Add batched discard support for ext4". -- system is wedged, new ssh connections are closed instantly and console is black with a mouse but does not accept keyboard input https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/672793 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 416981] Re: coreutils: du(1) doesn't summarize correctly
In my particular case the problem is that coreutils probably picks none or the wrong value for ST_NBLOCKS for the VBOXSF file system. I looked at the du source in the coreutils-7.4 source and it appears like ST_NBLOCKS are not getting set. Problem is most likely in system.h where ST_NBLOCKS should be set. In du.c where file size is not computed correctly. duinfo_set (&dui,(apparent_size? sb->st_size : (uintmax_t) ST_NBLOCKS (*sb) * ST_NBLOCKSIZE), <-- ST_NBLOCKS is incorrect ---> (time_type == time_mtime ? get_stat_mtime (sb): time_type == time_atime ? get_stat_atime (sb):get_stat_ctime (sb))); If "apparent size" is used to compute the file size du works correctly. So using "du -bh" or "du -sh --apparent-size" works correctly. Let me know if there is anything else you want me to test in my particular case. -- coreutils: du(1) doesn't summarize correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416981 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Update: I have played around with a few things. Right now I have network traffic with reasonable speed. Not sure which of the kernel parms worked Maybe all of them but I suspect it was booting the kernel with mem=3G that worked. So must be a bug with skge or sk98lin and addressing over 3Gb memory. 1. Compiled sk98lin driver 10.21.1.3 and blacklisted skge and ipv6 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/media/disk/DriverInstall# lsmod | grep sk sk98lin 209756 1 2. [Bug 131965] Re: Skge broken for Marvell network chip
I think Feisty 64-bit might have a problematic skge module. I can use the network through 32-bit Live CD's and installed versions from Ubuntu and Fedora with no problem. Vista 32-bit is also installed on this machine and working. With the 64-bit version though I can see the adapter and assign a static IP. I have link on the card but can not ping anything on the same network. ifconfig shows that there are no packets received. Noteworthy that I have the same symptoms with a Fedora 64-bit live CD. ** Attachment added: "SKGE settings" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10286331/skge.64 -- Skge broken for Marvell network chip https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/131965 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 87075] Re: SEGFAULTs when running most tools
FYI more info on this ... I have segmentation errors on one machine and not the other. Both running Ubuntu 7.04 server installs. Both custom kernels and tools make installed. No packages at this point. Machine 1: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# aptitude show gcc-4.1 | grep Version Version: 4.1.2-0ubuntu4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# uname -r 2.6.17.13-vs2.0.2.1 Production machine and runs two vservers fine. Machine 2(segmentaion errors): [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src# aptitude show gcc-4.1 | grep Version Version: 4.1.2-0ubuntu4 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src# uname -r 2.6.20.11-vs2.2.0 1. testme and testfs does not work with packages. If compiled then testme and testfs runs fine but vserver-info segfaults. 2. Machine 1 kernel on Machine 2 breaks the same way. If anyone wants more info let me know. -Riaan -- SEGFAULTs when running most tools https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/87075 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
