[Bug 1794629] Re: CVE-2018-15473 - User enumeration vulnerability

2019-04-06 Thread root
@Vital & Seth
Thanks for the clarification, so qualys is the culprit!, such a good security
company providing false reports without actually doing full scan, and now I am
looking for a script to demonstrate this vulnerability fix, any good script?

  Will this do..?

2019-04-05 Thread root
@set, That's fine, but scanned Qualys report suggests to install openssh
>7.8 to fix this bug!, not sure where is the issue, PFA for sample
qualys report, do you know how to change the openssh version and hide OS
version without compiling?, any SSHD_options? let me know.

Thanks

[Bug 1794629] Re: CVE-2018-15473 - User enumeration vulnerability

2019-03-31 Thread root
@Seth, if the update released after November 6th 2018, then why I am
getting 7.6p1 version even when i install with the latest ISO distro
from Feb 10 here ?.

http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/18.04.2/release/ubuntu-18.04.2
-server-amd64.iso

The above ISO is from Feb 2019 and it should be having an update of the
fixed version, but it doesn't!.

[Bug 1556301] Re: Missing Virt-Manager Menu (File, Edit, etc)

2017-01-06 Thread Steve Root
In case it's useful to know;

If I hover over the top left corner of the screen, where the name
'Virtual Machine Manager' is shown, the menu appears. I'd anticipated it
appearing as part of the application's window next to the icons.

[Bug 1337999] Re: speakup 3.1.5.dfsg.1-1ubuntu1: speakup kernel module failed to build

2014-07-04 Thread Sudo SU Root
Wow, I see this package has not been updated in quite some time. I
believe that I used aptitude search to find it, or possibly Google
search. I was looking at both resources for a tool to build speaking
into a script/program to notify me of completion, as my builds have
(Popup Visual) notification now, but if I'm in full screen (movie) or
not looking, it will fade away after about 10 seconds (full screen -
misses it all). If this package is listed, and !maintained !working,
it should be removed, or just fix the simple missing/misplaced
parentheses, bracket, missing semi-colon, or whatever it is, as I sent
details in the error report. I may fork, fix, and push. If the package
works, or can work, it is stupid to remove a resource from the Ubuntu
family for a semi-colon!

2012-11-15 Thread O-root-jurathek-de
Ah, I must have somehow gotten into the wrong repo, there were only
three packages in there.

Now I can confirm that this bug is fixed for me on Intel i5 2500k, HD
3000, intel_drv.so 2.20.9, Ubuntu 12.10+Kubuntu backports PPA

/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/intel_drv.so belongs to xserver-xorg-
video-intel, not the KDE backport.

Thank You!

[Bug 968692] Re: Some flash widgets are not obscured by overlapping windows

2012-09-12 Thread root
Try to install flashplugin-installer. I tried it now and while installing it
download and install flashplugin 11.2.202.238.orig
Now everything seems to work correctly. I'll write back after testing more.
As I found there are no other options to fix it but to update flashplugin. Hope
this will help you too =)

[Bug 921889] Re: package ttf-mscorefonts-installer (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-installation script returned error exit status 128

2012-07-27 Thread root
I have same output as post #10 while trying: sudo apt-get install --reinstall
ttf-mscorefonts-installer
But after raise err at the end I see: IOError: [Errno socket error] [Errno
101] Network is unreachable
I was trying winetricks, playonliux, ubuntu-restricted-extras. Nothing help.
/var/log/installer/syslog have no output about reinstall action.

There was one workaround for this bug that I found here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/debian/+source/msttcorefonts/+bug/431217 post #21
BUT I need to change ~148 line of file
/var/lib/dpkg/info/ttf-mscorefonts-installer.postinst , and I have there about
50 lines and nothing similar to what he wrote about.

I attached my /var/lib/dpkg/info/ttf-mscorefonts-installer.postinst if
needed.

[Bug 806546] Re: Modifier keys (Shift, Alt, Super) stick/cling at the mere/simple push of a button.

2012-02-23 Thread root
Ubuntu 10.04
Gnome version: 2.30.2
I have this bug too(but maybe I'm wrong, not sure if this is same bug) but with
any button and only in one condition - when I play games like Kobo Delux or
Battle for Wesnoth.
If button stick nothing helps. Clicking another button will release previous
and stick current clicked button.
And the most funny thing is that this bug appear for me after I was playing
Battle for Wesnoth in subterranean. I didn't have this before.
I turn off autoupdates long time ago. I wasn't upgrading system.
All games before Battle for Wesnoth was working without any issues. Sry for my
bad English

[Bug 615045] Re: Running catman makes man display junk data

Is this going to be put into Lucid?

As a workaround, you can do something like: rm -f /var/cache/cat*/*.gz

[Bug 523549] [NEW] The macro $LIB in LD_PRELOAD doesn't take into account the lib layout

2010-02-17 Thread Kenny Root
Public bug reported:

It appears that the $LIB macro you may use in LD_PRELOAD (see the
manpage for ld.so if you're unfamiliar with this) doesn't take into
account the layout that Ubuntu has for its libraries.

On x86-64, 64-bit libraries are in /lib and /lib64 is a symlink to /lib
while 32-bit libraries are in /lib32. It appears that ld.so assumes
lib means 32-bit and lib64 is 64-bit.

Changing this to assume lib32 is for 32-bit and lib64 is for 64-bit
would work on Ubuntu, but I don't think that could be upstreamed.

[Bug 202876] [NEW] Totem won't play sound video file

2008-03-16 Thread root
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I am an ubuntu user for about a year and never faced a problem like this
one. Today I downloaded Ubuntu 7.10 from ubuntu.com and installed it on
my laptop. At first, totem was able to play sound video files without
a problem. But after installing apache, nessus, putty, filezilla,
kwallet no media file worked.

I thought the possibility that totem crashed for some reason every time
I try to play a video or a song so I installed vlc but didn't work
either. So, I decided to uninstall totem-gstream and re-installed it.
The problem still occurred so I installed totem-xine instead. That
didn't work either and every time I try to play a video or a song totem
crashes and won't play any media file.

I really have no idea what caused this.

Thanks in advance.
