Thanks for fast reply!

[Bug 1081660] Re: If maas-enlist fails to reach a DNS server, the node will be named "; ; connection timed out; no servers could be reached"

2013-12-29 Thread rowez
Running MAAS server on Saucy! And Saucy as the default distro for
commissioning and deployment.

Using a Arcadyan modem for DHCP range: 192.168.2.2-192.168.2.139 and the
Cluster Interfaces set to manage DHCP and DNS. With
rangeL192.168.150-192.168.2.167, broadcast-ip: 192.168.2.255 and router-
adres to modem.

I have set zone cloud in field Default domain for new nodes
(MAAS/setting).

But /etc/bind/maas is zone master, with ip-
range:192.168.2.0-192.168.2.255.

Is the directory /etc/bind/maas created by MAAS? I don't think!

[Bug 759865] [NEW] Not Optimum Mode Recommended mode: 1280x1024 60Hz

2011-04-13 Thread rowez
Public bug reported:

Server with i686. From 10.10, doing a release upgrade to Natty 11.04:

In the directory /etc/X11 there is NO file called xorg.conf. Still Natty
does not boot. All i get is a black screen. ctl-alt-F1 doesn't work. I
could only login with remote ssh. Not see the grub menu on boot! So no
single mode option to use.

No file like xorg.conf-dist-upgrade-201103* present in /etc/X11

sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati will not fix the bug!

[Bug 627963] Re: [maverick] Inconsistent certificates prevent CC to start correctly (no cc.log)

2011-03-31 Thread rowez
Got the problem as described above on a Intel Xeon. Did the workaround
#9 and --register-cluster without stop/start eucalyptus!

Using eucalyptus (2.0+bzr1241-0ubuntu4.1) on Maverick Meerkat (10.10).

After the reboot, again --deregister-cluster and then --register-
cluster. No error's!

But it is reproducible when:

sudo euca_conf --list-nodes
echo's registered node
sudo euca_conf --deregister-nodes 10.0.0.2
sudo euca_conf --list-nodes
echo's registered node
sudo euca_conf --deregister-cluster cluster2011mrt
sudo euca_conf --register-cluster cluster2011mrt 10.0.0.2
sudo euca_conf --list-nodes
echo's nothing
sudo euca_conf --register-nodes 10.0.0.2
sudo euca_conf --list-nodes
echo's nothing
sudo euca_conf --deregister-cluster cluster2011mrt
sudo euca_conf --register-cluster cluster2011mrt 10.0.0.2
Needs time to do something! Then:
echo's ERROR: failed to register new cluster, please log in to the admin
interface and check cloud status.
Few second's later, try again without workaround #9:
sudo euca_conf --register-cluster cluster2011mrt 10.0.0.2
echo's SUCCESS: new cluster

It looks it is time related on a old Intel XEON!

[Bug 746586] [NEW] node deregister eucalyptus.local.conf

2011-03-31 Thread rowez
Public bug reported:

When --deregister-nodes it echo's SUCCESS: removed node '10.0.0.2' from

[Bug 231060] Re: packages dnsmasq and libvirt-bin conflict with each other

2011-03-09 Thread rowez
On 10.04

Netstat give me no listen on port 53 for dnsmasq after the reboot.

Installing with apt-get libvirt-bin dnsmasq dnsmasq-base give me no
error's. But no virbr0!

So setting up virbr0 with the command virsh net-define default.xml en
virsh net-autostart default is ok. But net-start default in de virsh is
not possible!

It say's: in virsh internal error exited with non-zero status 2 and
signal 0, failed to bind listening socket for

netstat: dnsmasq is listen on 0.0.0.0:53

With uncomment bind-interfaces in /etc/dnsmasq.conf and restart dnsmasq
:

netstat -nap | grep dnsmasq:

The 192.168.122.1, 127.0.0.1, 169.254.169.254, 10.0.0.51 are connect on
port 53 for tcp and udp. 0.0.0.0:67 for udp.

In virsh now net-start default without error's.

sudo virsh net-list: default active yes

add user eucalyptus in /etc/group

su eucalyptus -c "virsh net-list" works now.

With no bind9 installed and apt-get purge libvirt-bin, dnsmasq, dnsmasq-

netstat -nap | grep dnsmasq say it still listen on port 53.

[Bug 728362] Re: instance-id meta-service url 10.04.2

2011-03-05 Thread rowez
Hello,

The ip-addres 169.254.169.254 for metadata service is now found in the
ifconfig. I think this is done by some registrations in the cloud.

So, i think: you must register something (Walrus or Cluster) before
reboot, when eucalyptus-nc is installed on the same server.

Could someone confirm this!

Hello,

Again a new install. But this time only selected the Basic Ubuntu server
in Tasksel. After fast reboot. Installed Cloud computing: Walrus storage
service, cluster-, storage- and top-level cloud controller with Tasksel
again. A second fast reboot. No problems.

[Bug 589655] Re: .ICEauthority and gconf-sanity-check-2 problems on login DOMAIN account

2011-02-18 Thread rowez
Can confirm the ICEauthority and gconf-sanity-check-2 problem for Ubuntu
10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx. But now also Nautilus could not create the
following required folders: /home/user/Desktop, /home/user/.nautilus.

The user is an sudoer when needed and use a .ecryptfs user map.

The user changed the password to 'Don't ask for password on login' with
System>Administration/Users and groups. With the next reboot the
problem's appears.

An sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart fix the problem. But come back after
reboot.

Do not use 'Don't ask for password on login' for now (, if you are
sudoer and use an .ecryptfs)!

[Bug 418803] Re: dm-linear: lookup failed / mdadm: breaks boot

2010-04-09 Thread rowez
Today, I reproduced for the third time the error after installing mdadm
to get more and better info:

Yes, there was a /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf file before installing mdadm.
Changed this to mmadmin.conf. After installing mdamd (2.6.7.1-1ubuntu13)
a new /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf appears. With diff mmadmin.conf mdadmin.conf
no difference found.

Using default in grub list: (initrd.img- and vmlinuz-) 2.6.31-20
-generic-pae:

After reboot a ALERT! /dev/mapper/pc072003-root does not exist. Dropping
to a shell with (initramfs) prompt.

Now reboot with the word single before root=/... in grub (alias recovery
mode). Same error.

Trying to use a other image (initramfs-/vmlinuz- 2.6.31-20-generic) in
the grub-list will boot the system. Because mdadm have not changed this
initramfs. The only difference is -pae! I could check now that mdadm is
monitoring with ps ax | grep mdadm. Running with a pid. On a LVM2
partition and without modifyed initramfs-2.6.31-20-generic!

Looking back: Something goes wrong with -pae.

Next step!

Re: [Bug 418803] Re: initramfs images not recreated during *un*-install

2010-04-02 Thread rowez
I don't think it is related to Bug 115616. Yes, mdadm make's my machine
unbootable, because mdadm and lvm2 are for some reasons not compatible.
Needs a recovery disk to chroot in the error disk. *When mounting the /boot
from the error disk*: I am able to do apt-get remove mdadm which cause
regenerating of the initrd.img-2.6.28-14-server. Then the error disk will
boot well.

After installing mdadm on a running ubuntu 9.04 and doing nothing more
than reboot. It give a device mapper, dm-linear, Device loopup failed.
This is because of the 8e partition type. A apt-get remove mdadm doesn't
fix the error.
