[Bug 1081660] Re: If maas-enlist fails to reach a DNS server, the node will be named "; ; connection timed out; no servers could be reached"
Running MAAS server on Saucy! And Saucy as the default distro for commissioning and deployment. Using a Arcadyan modem for DHCP range: 192.168.2.2-192.168.2.139 and the Cluster Interfaces set to manage DHCP and DNS. With rangeL192.168.150-192.168.2.167, broadcast-ip: 192.168.2.255 and router- adres to modem. I have set zone cloud in field Default domain for new nodes (MAAS/setting). But /etc/bind/maas is zone master, with ip- range:192.168.2.0-192.168.2.255. Is the directory /etc/bind/maas created by MAAS? @Nuno and James Followed the instruction, without MODE="664" en GROUP="scanner", from James. Have added them to /etc/udev/40-libsane.rules, restart udev and it works now. [Bug 418803] Re: dm-linear: lookup failed / mdadm: breaks boot
Today, I reproduced for the third time the error after installing mdadm to get more and better info: Yes, there was a /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf file before installing mdadm. Changed this to mmadmin.conf. After installing mdamd (2.6.7.1-1ubuntu13) a new /etc/mdadm/mdadm.conf appears. With diff mmadmin.conf mdadmin.conf no difference found. Using default in grub list: (initrd.img- and vmlinuz-) 2.6.31-20 -generic-pae: After reboot a ALERT! /dev/mapper/pc072003-root does not exist. Dropping to a shell with (initramfs) prompt. Now reboot with the word single before root=/... in grub (alias recovery mode). Same error. Trying to use a other image (initramfs-/vmlinuz- 2.6.31-20-generic) in the grub-list will boot the system. Because mdadm have not changed this initramfs. The only difference is -pae! I could check now that mdadm is monitoring with ps ax | grep mdadm. Running with a pid. On a LVM2 partition and without modifyed initramfs-2.6.31-20-generic! Looking back: Something goes wrong with -pae. Re: [Bug 418803] Re: initramfs images not recreated during *un*-install
I don't think it is related to Bug 115616. Yes, mdadm make's my machine unbootable, because mdadm and lvm2 are for some reasons not compatible. Needs a recovery disk to chroot in the error disk. *When mounting the /boot from the error disk*: I am able to do apt-get remove mdadm which cause regenerating of the initrd.img-2.6.28-14-server. Then the error disk will boot well. 2010/4/1 ceg > > Thanks for responding.
