[Bug 1905982] Re: Screen not Blanking after upgrade to 20.04
I think I've solved it. I removed gdm3 and lightdm apt purge gdm3 apt purge lightdm then reinstalled gdm3 and ubuntu desktop. apt install gdm3 ubuntu-desktop It now seems to be working as expected. It appears to me screen blanking may not work with lightdm, but I'm not sure perhaps it was something else held over form 18.04. Just switching from lightdm to gdm3 caused a "Low Graphics Mode" error, removing and reinstalling gdme3 solved that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905982 Title: Screen not Blanking after upgrade to 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1905982/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1906326] Re: package xcursor-themes 1.0.6-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: installed xcursor-themes package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 2
No I didn't remove of edit anything. When I run an upgrade I get an error that that file is missing. When I do dpkg --configure -a I get the same message. In order to solve a problem with the screen not blanking I removed gdm3 and lightdm then reinstalled gdm3, that's when the error showed up. gdm3. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1906326 Title: package xcursor-themes 1.0.6-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: installed xcursor-themes package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xcursor-themes/+bug/1906326/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1905982] Re: Screen not Blanking after upgrade to 20.04
I am running the default 20.04 gnome desktop, except for the display manager. I'm not sure how to trigger the issue since the problem is that the screensaver doesn't start when it's supposed to. Ran journalctl -b 0 Checked the journal nothing there related to gnome. There are a lot of network entries. xset -display :0.0 dpms force off will turn the display off ctrl-c will turn it back on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905982 Title: Screen not Blanking after upgrade to 20.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/1905982/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 973951] Re: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.22-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
This weekend I upgraded another server with the same result as above. I was able to work around it by #mv /var/lib/mysql /var/lib/mysql.orig #mkdir /var/lib/mysql #chmod /var/lib/mysql to match mysql.orig #chown mysql:mysql /var/lib/mysql #mv /var/lib/mysql.orig/mysql /var/lib/mysql/mysql #start mysql There is apparently some problem with one or more of the files in /var/lib/mysql.orig restarting mysql creats new one which work fine. Once I did this I was able to move the old mysql tables in subdirectories of /var/lib/mysql with out any problems. [Bug 1095197] Re: package ntfs-3g 1:2012.1.15AR.1-1ubuntu1.2 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: pre-dependency problem - not installing ntfs-3g
I just had this same problem no an upgrade of two nearly identical servers from 10.04 to 12.04.2 AMD64 My Hardware is AMD64, Nvidia chipset, Root is on an md array with lvm2. The 10.04 was full updated just prior to starting the upgrade. During the upgrade ntfs-3g failed too install due to a pre dependency issue. The hostname failed for the same reason finally resolvconf failed to install. The update eventually failed to configure due to too many errors. Rebooting the system failed with a error about the root filesystem being unavailable or not ready. Root was left mounter read only. I was able to recover by the following commands; # mount -o remount, rw / # mount -a #dpkg --configure -a #apt-get install -f Before the apt-get above apt-get refused to install ntfs-3g because hostname was not installed. hostname refused to install because libntfs- 3g75 was not installable. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1095197 Title: package ntfs-3g 1:2012.1.15AR.1-1ubuntu1.2 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: pre-dependency problem - not installing ntfs-3g To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ntfs-3g/+bug/1095197/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1045102] [NEW] Lightdm causing segmentation faults
Public bug reported: I upgraded a 32 bit 10.04.4 box to 12.04.1 yesterday. The upgrade ran without an serious issues. The only "odd" thing was two pop-ups which had no text, only small squares where the letters should have been. AMD processor with Nvidia chipset. Propriatary Nvidia driver installed. I have been working through issues with it. I have determined that lightdm is causing segmentation faults. It is also leaving zombie processes. Some users cannot log in. The login fails and returns the user to the login screen with no indication of what was wrong. Other users can login. But no users get the Unity Launcher. Ctrl-Alt-T will not usually open a terminal and if it does the terminal is not functional. Desktop functionality is extremely limited. This affects new users created after the upgrade as well as existing users. All users can loginto a tty screen. Frequently error messages are generated shortly after opening a session indicitating the compiz has crashed with a segmentaion fault. Ocassionally X.org will cause a segmentation fault. A search of the logs has not revealed any obvious problems. Switching to gdm resolves the issues but the login screen is changed to the older version. I have read a number older similar bugs but they all seem to be closed. It's possible this could be a configuration issue but the original install was pretty standard, except for a Gnome Desktop Theme resembling Windows XP, which should not affect the new users.. ** Affects: lightdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1045102 Title: Lightdm causing segmentation faults To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/1045102/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 121420] Re: Wishlist: New stable egroupware release available
Yes. eGroupware versions are badly lagging. It took many many months for the 1.2 version to be included in Ubuntu. It is taking too long to add the current stable version (1.4). Most of eGroupware is mostly php so updating it shouldn't be much of a problem. -- Wishlist: New stable egroupware release available https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/121420 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
