[Bug 297607] Re: Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault
The problem is caused by totem-mozilla. Removing it brings Firefox back to life. $ sudo apt-get remove --purge totem-mozilla -- Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 297607] [NEW] Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox Firefox segfaults just a second after launched. Removing ~/.mozilla helped slightly, it shows up and opens some pages but crashes often. Also, it segfaults every time I try to open Preferences window. Epiphany-gecko segfaults whenever a page is opened. It starts rendering page and before it's done it crashes. I can open Preferences dialog without problems. Running it from command line does not give any output other than just Segmentation fault. $ apt-cache show firefox | grep Version Version: 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 $ apt-cache show epiphany-browser | grep Version Version: 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 $ apt-cache show xulrunner | grep Version Version: 1.8.1.16+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 $ uname -a Linux uglybox 2.6.27-8-generic #1 SMP Thu Nov 6 17:33:54 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux It was fine just before last upgrade. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Firefox and Epiphany-gecko crashes with Segmentation Fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/297607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I just peeked at dmesg output and found a single line: [ 1132.514942] libflashplayer.[9116]: segfault at 9517a4 ip b772b136 sp bfe4c6c4 error 4 in libflashplayer.so[b76fc000+951000] There is only one line like that, despite I was running flash over and over again. -- Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sorry, forgot to add my box spec. It's IA32. Video driver is fglrx $ apt-cache show firefox | grep Version Version: 3.0.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu2 $ apt-cache show flashplugin-nonfree | grep Version Version: 10.0.12.36ubuntu1 $ uname -a Linux uglybox 2.6.27-7-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 30 04:18:38 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux $ lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)] -- Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 262693] Re: Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3
I tried reinstalling flashplugin-nonfree several times, even installing it manually using provided Adobe installer. No success. If I run firefox from terminal I get LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree/libflashplayer.so [libnss3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] everyting I try to open a web page with flash on it. The about:plugins do not show Flash plugin on the list. Removing ~/.mozilla didn't make any difference. And didn't have much success with Gnash and swfdec either, as they are not production ready. -- Flash not working: Intrepid, 2.6.27, FF3 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/262693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 240981] [NEW] OpenOffice.org freezes right after start
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org OpenOffice.org freezes immediately after splash screen disappears. User interface is rendered half way.
