[Bug 1845801] Re: [nvidia] Automatic login fails and then all subsequent logins fail. Killing gnome-session-binary fixes it, or just not using automatic login.
As per my earlier comment, I have a GTX 1080. I'm happy to provide any log information if @Alberto can tell me what he needs to help him figure out what's going on. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845801 Title: [nvidia] Automatic login fails and then all subsequent logins fail. [Bug 1845801] Re: [nvidia] Automatic login fails and then all subsequent logins fail. Killing gnome-session-binary fixes it, or just not using automatic login.
Using an NVIDIA GTX 1080 on 20.04 with the latest daily image I can confirm this bug still exists. Removing the "splash" option from the /etc/default/grub file variable GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT seems to fix the issue. I too encountered this with automatic boot enabled, and it also occurs no matter which version of the NVIDIA driver I use (except for the FOSS driver). Unusually, this does not occur on my laptop which also has an NVIDIA GPU (in this case, a 1650). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845801 Title: [nvidia] Automatic login fails and then all subsequent logins fail.
