[Bug 530277] Re: 0cf2:6250 ENE Technology, Inc. card reader not supported

2011-12-20 Thread Waluyo Adi Siswanto
I have the same problem in my Acer Aspire One Happy (Intel Atom 550, card
reader ENE technology) running Ubuntu 11.10.
It can be fixed by including "acpiphp" module in /etc/modules.
After rebooting, then reading memory card, just simply plug it in in the card
reader, and will pop up automatically.
I have documented the detail here:
http://waluyo-adi-siswanto.blogspot.com/2011/12/card-reader-acer-aspire-one-in-ubuntu.html

[Bug 591689] Re: abandon when compiling OSM maps

2010-06-11 Thread waluyo
The issue was resolved.
There have been some reports about problems with OpenJDK. I was advised to try
the Sun JRE or JDK

I simply used the command "sudo update-alternatives --config java" to
change my java environment.

Now, "java -version" gives:

java version "1.6.0_20"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_20-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 16.3-b01, mixed mode)

No more error message when compiling the maps

[Bug 591689] [NEW] abandon when compiling OSM maps

2010-06-09 Thread waluyo
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I am trying to compile garmin maps based on the OpenStreetMap data. I
have found a tutorial here:
http://bentobako.org/david/blog/index.php?post/2009/06/01/Faire-une-
carte-pour-un-GPS-Garmin-eTrex-%C3%A0-partir-d-Open-Street-Map

the first steps are easy to complete. I had no problem with them.
However, the last step (= compiling the diverse *.osm.gz into the garmin-maps
folder always fails)

The terminal gives me this error message:

#
# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:

Here is the last command I use:
java -Xmx2G -jar '/home/waluyo/Documents/rando/MapFinland/tentative compil
finland/mkgmap-r1652/mkgmap.jar' --gmapsupp --latin1 --net
'/home/waluyo/Documents/rando/MapFinland/tentative compil

'/home/waluyo/Documents/rando/MapFinland/tentative compil
finland/splitted-osm/63240005.osm.gz'

I have tried with java -Xmx1G instead, but same problem. Error occured.

I have no idea what causes this problem and where to find a solution. Can you
help me or redirect me?

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
I am using mkgmap-r1652 (http://www.mkgmap.org.uk/snapshots/)
and splitter-r111 (but I don't think the problem comes from here)

I am supposed to have different *.img in the folder garmin-maps, but
instead, I have an error and .log which I attach to this bug report.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Xavier

[Bug 586156] [NEW] Cannot boot but login prompt only, NVIDIA AMD64

2010-05-26 Thread Waluyo Adi Siswanto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

After fresh installation of 10.04 then changed the graphics to the recommended
driver (nvidia-current), then changed the appearance preference "normal" visual
effect. I cannot get the GDM on booting but stop on login prompt. So I have to
enter the user name and password then startx.
After googling I found I have to blacklist the vga16fb in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

Now.. it can go directly to GDM, but the booting process always
"blinking cursor, then appear login prompt but fast, then a normal GDM
login", which is different from the the original (the first time).

I have been waiting any update can fix this problem, but until today
still the same.. if i remove vga16fb from the blacklist, the booting
will stop in login prompt, now I decided to report this.

I have another machine AMD64 also NVIDIA but different series, also
behave exactly the same, I need to blacklist vga16fb.

Thanks

Elmar,

Thanks for your help.

Your explanation really helped and I was able to perform what was written here.
However, this didn't help.
(I have an ACER aspire 4810TG laptop with Matshita CD/DVD player)

The solution "in the BIOS switch SATA to IDE mode rather than AHCI" partially
worked though.
But it is very unstable (after some time, CD player won't work and I need to
reboot).

I consider the issue not solved. I don't really really know what to
do... :-(

Hello,

I am really sorry for asking this kind of question, but you have lost me with
the last solution. I am a newbie, and I don't really understand what I have to
do.
Can you please give more details?

I went to etc/default/I clicked on grub and then, I found the line where
I have to add noacpi.
However, I can't save the file, and I don't understand this "# If you change
this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update
# /boot/grub/grub.cfg."
Please, put me back on the right track.

Thanks.

[Bug 500702] Re: Cannot open appeon server

2009-12-27 Thread Waluyo Adi Siswanto
According the information the system is under Appeon 5.1. When I use IE,
there is a process of downloading Appeon, before the login window
appears. In Firefox, it just a blank window, in status bar "done", and
there no process of downloading appeon.

[Bug 327186] Re: OpenOffice 3 Presentation crash when save as and file cannot be recovered

2009-02-14 Thread Waluyo Adi Siswanto
I was working under Ubuntu (filesystem ext3), but the file is located in
windows partition (filesystem fat32).
I just reproduced the problem by creating a very simple file (named test.odp)
in OO3 Impress in Ubuntu and the folder is also in linux partition (ext3).. yes
it worked fine. I can save as by changing the first letter of the file name
from lower case to upper case. I have two files in the ubuntu folder: test.odp
and Test.odp.

I created another file in windows folder (named test.odp) then saved as
Test.odp, a message poped up "The file already exists. Overwrite?", then
I replied yes. It looked Ok and not crash (but last time it crashed in
my file contained pictures and formulas). When I looked at the folder, I
found only 1 file with the same name test.odp.

My reason why I use windows folder partition is I was a windows user. So
I keep maintaining my file management in that partition. I did not
realised I will found a problem like this.
