[Bug 575559] Re: Laptop overheats and suddenly shuts down/off using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

2010-06-13 Thread xeribii
I have the same problem with Ubuntu 10.04 with all the updated packages
installed. It just can't do any intensive tasks. It just freezes after
doing some multimedia tasks or simply having opened too many tabs in my
firefox. I'm moving back to Windows 7 as well... :( Ubuntu 9.04 and
9.10 were fine.

I'm using Dell Vostro 1088.

[Bug 577897] Re: Ubuntu 10.04 hangs at shutdown but not at restart

2010-05-15 Thread xeribii
I have the same problem with Dell Vostro 1088 for shutdown and restart.
For clicking restart, I can turn off the computer by pressing the
power button when it freezes at the restart splash screen. For clicking
shutdown, the computer hangs at the shutdown splash screen and has to
turn it off by pressing the power button for 3 seconds, meaning forcing
the motherboard to shutdown the laptop.

[Bug 229330] Re: Headphones do not mute speakers

2009-11-08 Thread xeribii
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 115637 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/115637

Same problem here. I have DELL VOSTRO 1088. Conexant ID 5067.

I've updated to the latest updates. But still the internal speakers /
headphones and the external speakers love to work simultaneously.

I've tried OSS in Jaunty before I updated to Karmic. OSS fixed the
problem when I set the output as pcm2 in the volume preferences.
