[Bug 432360] Re: sreadahead should support separate /usr, /var etc.
So, is this bad, or not? *** This bug is a duplicate of bug 281940 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281940 I just reinstalled karmic with the minimal cd (here:https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD). [Bug 2067] Re: Problems with partitioning
I have to report similar problems: Partman failed recognize my partitions and just presented me with the option to create new ones. The partition-structure was roughly similar to the one mentioned in the bug report. Unfortunately, my partition table was partially (!) corrupted anyway, so I'm not sure whether this occurred because of the damage or because of the distinct structure #1 mentioned. Yet, parted and fdisk were able to read (and restore) it without problems so the problem seems to be with partman. -- Problems with partitioning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2067 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 277418] Re: openoffice crashed inside the guest account
It flicked by too fast to see. All I can say is that it happened during the upgrade to Intrepid and I think it was something about javascript or jre. [Bug 262228] Re: Guest can log in only once, because of password?
I'm still having this bug. But I also got 2 Guest accounts delivered with intrepid: Guest session and Guest. Guest prompts for a password and is inaccessibe, Guest session works. Don't know if this is intended behavior but I think it's confusing to have two Guest-accounts. Same problem here. Upgraded to Intrepid from a clean Hardy-minimal installation. Then logged in as the main user, switched to guest-account and tried Ooo. [Bug 263140] Re: Hardy boot hangs with the message: ACPI: EC: non-query interrupt received, switching to interrupt mode
I'm getting the same error message, but my laptop locks up completely at this point (hard reboot needed). I read somewhere, that the same issue affected Sony Vaio notebooks, so I guess that this might be connected. Three oddities though: Opening the cd-rom drive (only thing that works) will resume the boot process. Disabling dma-mode seems to circumvent this issue. The boot process of Damn Small Linux (currenct version) also generates this issue. ** Attachment added: dmesg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17663444/dmesg -- Hardy boot hangs with the message: ACPI: EC: non-query interrupt received, switching to interrupt mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/263140 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 118605] this is not limited to ATI-hardware
Similar problem here (Ubuntu 8.04, Intel 852 chipset). When the X-server tries to do something, that makes the screen flicker (switching users, logging out, shutting down), in 33% of all cases, the system crashes completely (blank screen, absolutely nonresponsive to anything).
