Not seeing the issue in libreoffice 6.0.3 on ubuntu 18.04. "Vollkorn" is listed in libreoffice writer's font list as a unique font (see attached screenshot). That is because the gtk/gnome font dialog is "retarded". Microsoft Office, and its cheap plastic copies called Star Office, OpenOffice, LibreOffice "real-time generate" really bad "italic" or "bold" of fonts not providing that. The LibreOffice is to blame here. I have experienced this same problem.
