[Bug 105816] Re: Azureus crashes after start
Daniel, Ulf's proposed fix was in fact for bug 57875, this one looks completely different from the stack traces. However, they are only debug messages, so may not be causing the crash. Then it sounds more like bug 68020. If the original poster could attach the hotspot log (specified in crash as hs_err_pid811.log) it would help to clarify. -- Azureus crashes after start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 105816] Re: Azureus crashes after start
BUGabundo, I'm not sure what you are saying - I didn't ask you to do anything. The log I requested from Ernst should still be available to him and besides there is little point in reporting bugs without the willingness to provide sufficient information. I am simply trying to distinguish between different bugs that may have similar effects. I for one do not have this UPnP problem. You're suggestion that 2.5.0.0 is too old for the newer versions of Java was a good possibility, but unfortunately does not tally with the experience of other users. Certainly for bug 68020 it seems that any version from the site fixes the problem (possibly relating it to choice of compiler). -- Azureus crashes after start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 105816] Re: Azureus crashes after start
It could be related to this report - my understanding is that UPnP is not very well specified/compatible and the Azureus wiki mentions that it should be disabled if Azureus keeps crashing or if your ISP disconnects every 24h or so. If it's causes you problems then you can disable it in Tools->Options->Plugins->UPnP. I would suggest that whilst the possibility remains that this is a separate bug (i.e. without having obtained the hotspot log), we only discuss your original problem in bug 83594 - otherwise it's easier to confused causes and harder to find relevant information. -- Azureus crashes after start https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 105816] Re: Azureus crashes after start
I understand people are disappointed if I don't install the patch: first I report a bug, people take time to fix the bug and the only thing they want, is a proof the bug is fixed. However, I use the latest Azureus version. Not only because it just works, but also because certain trackers need the latest version of Azureus. Feisty's Azureus is just too old for them, which means I can't log in onto those trackers. Therefore, I'm not able to test the fix. However, I appreciate all the work and effort people show to improve Ubuntu. I still vote for updating the official package to 2.5.0.4. This morning I had some time and I decided to give the bug fix a try. First, I reinstalled Azureus using Synaptic. Then, I started Azureus. However, this time it did not crash! It behaves differently as before (see my earlier post). As Azureus does not crash (at least, I only tried starting as that was the problem), I can't test the patch: The bug is not showing up. I understand people are disappointed if I don't install the patch: first I report a bug, people take time to fix the bug and the only thing they want, is a proof the bug is fixed.
