Well, Firefox does not use mnemonics for bookmark items on any platform. They're pretty pointless for dynamic content such as bookmarks and history anyway. If you're referring to the inability to select a bookmark item by pressing the key corresponding to it's first character, then this is not a Firefox bug, but a gtk limitation. Further, if this was a gtk+2.0 limitation, why do the items in other menus have mnemonics? I might be missing something here? If I bookmark e.g. launchpad.net/ubuntu and the description in the bookmark menu is 'Ubuntu in launchpad', I'm used to the situation where I can quickly access it using altB followed by 'U'. And the mnemonic is always the first character of the description. If I have multiple entries starting with U (e.g. 'ubuntu forums' and 'ubuntu in launchpad') I press 'U' till the desired one is selected and press enter to load it. If my memory serves me well, any version of Firefox that I have used under WinXP, Win7 and Ubuntu 6.06/8.04/10.04 behaved like this. It's now with Ubuntu 12.04 in combination with Firefox 15.0.1 that this functionality has changed.
