[Bug 1069293] Re: Xorg freeze
Darrell Sandstrom, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. [Bug 1069293] Re: Xorg freeze
Update: I purged all nvidia drivers and nvidia-settings using commands shown on this post: http://askubuntu.com/questions/206283/how-can-i-uninstall-a-nvidia-driver-completely sudo apt-get remove --purge nvidia-* sudo apt-get install ubuntu-destkop sudo rm /etc/X11/xorg.conf echo 'nouveau' | sudo tee -a /etc/modules It removed the 3 drivers from 12.10, an old driver update, nvidia- settings and a settings update. I restarted and tried to suspend. When woken up, I was able to see my desktop, but froze after a couple seconds. I was unable to open a terminal, click on anything, or get a right click context menu. I guess that's progress. Correction: I have a 470 video card, not 460. If that makes a difference. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1069293 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-nouveau/+bug/1069293/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
