Channel parsing in streamtuner won't work any longer, because the shoutcast.com website format was changed (twice). ..Still to Axel's point, this is a pretty lame bug to persist across 3 releases. And the fix is effortless from the content providers standpoint. It doesnt make sense to have the ownership on the end user to correct this. If the package is faulty and it's not going to be maintained then just remove it from the repo. I shouldnt have had to google for this fix. A novice user would never correct this on their own. It's a poor user experience and the minor attention that would be required to maintain this is justified. if this is WELL KNOWN bug meanwhile... WHY THE HECK is this Bug not been fixed and redistributed through the ubuntu repos for jaunty ?!?! See, this is an example why Linux is still not that popular at common computer users. a simple user dont wants to hack C code or wont wait YEARS for such a critical bugfix. if such a programm is in the repos its supposed to be stable AND working. at the moment, this package is NOT working as expected and even there is a known fix for it for quite a while, its STILL not updated/fixed in the repos.. I thought this bug was fixed for Ubuntu 8.10. But it seems the bug is back again in Jaunty. The following bug fix fixed my issue. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/streamtuner/+bug/203136 * Patched shoutcast.so (19.9 KiB, application/octet-stream) I am attaching a patched shoutcast.so which seems to work for me. Just copy it as root (or using sudo) to /usr/lib/streamtuner/plugins/ and restart streamtuner. I'm looking at http://yp.shoutcast.com/ and I can exclaim that the problem is related to the shoutcast.com, site used by streamtuner. If you try to switch to one of the directory you will receive an error: " Unfortunately, there weren't any SHOUTcast streams found under the genre ".
