I'm pretty sure I have been getting a lot of this on Quantal and Precise. I can also confirm this statement from the bug description applies on Quantal and Precise - With the pulseaudio plugin removed the gst alsa plugin installed totem behaves much better though on very rare occasion will become unresponsive. Am for the moment marking above mentioned bug as dupe here based on a rebuild of current eglibc source (reverted debian local-pthread_cond_wait patches, applied upstream diff, ect.)
