[Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
Since Jayhawk is the original bug reporter and has commented that this is resolved in now both Hardy and Intrepid, I'm marking this "Fix Released". If anyone is still experiencing issues, please open a new bug report. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Fix Released -- USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
It seems to be fine in Intrepid: Linux allen-fieldhouse 2.6.26-5-generic #1 SMP Sun Aug 10 20:28:44 UTC 2008 x86_64 GNU/Linux Although I am now getting a FAT filesystem panic when I insert my USB flash driver, but that is another issue... -- USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As reported by me and Jayhawk this bug has been fixed in the 8.04 release. So I think we could close this report. What others think? I am also able to get it to work without the kernel parameters. -- USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
It is been a week since I started using a fresh Hardy 64 bits installation. Yet I didn't get the old USB error and things seems to be working fine. I'm not using anymore any custom kernel parameter. -- USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I currently have Hardy installed and ran it without the noirqdebug parameter and the bug still exists with kernel 2.6.24-12-generic. [Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
Hi All, The Hardy Heron Alpha series is currently under development and contains an updated version of the kernel. It would be helpful if you could test the latest Hardy Alpha release: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux-source-2.6.20 (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/123853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
Unfortunately I've just discover that after the message "Disabling IRQ #7" the USB don't recognize any new device. I thought that it was working because devices plugged before the message keep working. [Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
Now I'm running 7.04 32bits with the following kernel options (I've used this instructions https://wiki.ubuntu.com/hp_dv6000_series_%28dv6116eu%29): NOAPIC NOAPCI NOIRQPOLL NOSMP Everything seens to work fine, I can use USB and the webcam. After using the computer for more than three hours the message apperead again: Message from [EMAIL PROTECTED] at Thu Aug 16 15:51:18 2007 ... ubuntu kernel: [18869.696000] Disabling IRQ #7 However this didn't cause any trouble, the USB keeps working. I don't know if this information can help or not :-) With 7.10 64bits I've tried Jayhawk suggestion to use the noapic noirqdebug options and the USB also worked. But I've for just a few hours before changing to 7.04 32bits. Hi, I have the same notebook (HP6338SE) with Ubuntu 7.10 and the same USB problem :-) Please let me know if I can help in any way with this bug. [Bug 123853] Re: USB port stops working after irq 7 disabled
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet have enough information. Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team: 1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report. 3. Please run the command "lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report. For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel- related bug reports is available at [WWW] http://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies.
