[Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
I think it is safe to assume this is fixed. Please feel free to reopen if that is not the case. ** Changed in: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress = Fix Released -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs . -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

HJMills, could you please test if your scanner now works with hardy? And if so please mark this bug as Fix Released. [Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
Not as far as I know - I contacted the SANE mailing list and they say it isn't. I have attached an email conversation from the SANE devel mailing list. ** Attachment added: Email thread from the SANE devel mailing list http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9293150/sane.mail -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

http://launchpadlibrarian.net/7752251/sane- backends_1.0.19%7Ecvs20070505-3ubuntu1.diff.gz does not seem to have any relevant changes (zgrep for 04b8). I really wonder where this is being introduced, then. -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
thank you for reporting back. The mail you attached can be more easily read in context from http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.graphics.scanning.sane.devel/10842/focus=10844, I believe. http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.graphics.scanning.sane.devel/10587/focus=10594 is also interesting. This is indeed fixed upstream as per http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.graphics.scanning.sane.devel/4240/focus=9897 and apparently so since 2005. According to the mailI wonder why the change is not in ubuntu. Can you include the output of sudo dpkg -l libsane*, please? But even dapper as a later version than 1.0.16 in which this was allegedly fixed. -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
the upstream cvs version does indeed have the correct entry it seems. cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/sane co sane-backends;grep 813 -2 sane-backends/doc/descriptions/epson.desc will confirm this. ** Changed in: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium Status: Incomplete = Confirmed -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
cvs log doc/descriptions/epson.desc in the upstream cvs tree tells us more: revision 1.33 date: 2007-08-03 13:34:31 +0200; author: jblache; state: Exp; lines: +5 -0; commitid: smatvyqVthPDziss; Add the Epson Stylus CX-6600 (04b8:0813) based on user report. The necessary entries were only made (again, after being lost?) about six weeks ago. Current gutsy cvs source was from May. So expect your scanner to be supported OOTB, eventually, on Ubuntu, I would think. ** Changed in: sane-backends (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = In Progress -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 134853] Re: CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect
Apply this to the /etc/udev/rules.d/45-libsane.rules file using the command patch 45-libsane.rules 45-libsane.rules.patch in the /etc/udev/rules.d/ directory. Please note I don't really know how to create a patch and stuff so if this is totally wrong please forgive me (and correct me if you can). ** Attachment added: 45-libsane.rules.patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/8999125/45-libsane.rules.patch -- CX6600 entry in SANE udev rule is incorrect https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/134853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
