This package is listed for inclusion in Lucid. A quick glance didn't show this package as existing upstream (packages.debian.org), and man page says it was created for Ubuntu. The original dev appears to be active on Launchpad, but does not list gcursor as a related project. The page: http://www.gnomefiles.org/app.php/gcursor seems to have been a point page. The dev participated in the comment section, but the page hasn't been updated in years... since the current gcursor version was released in August of 2004. Also in Intrepid Ibex gcursor doesn't work. Also I tried to change cursor in Appearance - properties of Theme Human. Dear Michael, I am running 8.04 at this time and for changing the cursor types I use Change Background utility started from the desktop, which works out fine. The special program that I installed on my older 7.07 installation is no longer of any use, I really can not tell you what it was called. I have not tried the Beta version of Ubuntu Hardy. Actually I was waiting for an official release to test it.
