[Bug 154151] Re: No sound on fresh install of 7.10
Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. General information regarding the release can also be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/alpha2 . Thanks! ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags removed: hardy-kernel-candidate -- No sound on fresh install of 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154151 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 154151] Re: No sound on fresh install of 7.10
I'm retargetting this towards the upcoming Hardy kernel release, hence the 'hardy-kernel-candidate' tag. However, against linux-source-2.6.22 this bug does not meet the criteria for a stable release update and is being marked as Won't Fix. You can learn more about the stable release update process at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates . [Bug 154151] Re: No sound on fresh install of 7.10
I did this: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo rmmod -f snd-hda-intel [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo echo "options snd-hda-intel model=auto" >> /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo modprobe snd-hda-intel After I did that, the sound card showed up, but I still had no sound. Then I rebooted and now I have sound. -- No sound on fresh install of 7.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154151 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
