@lapeth brcmfmac43602-pcie.txt is stored in your efi fs and part of firmware package in efi FS. [Bug 1575321] Re: brcmfmac: Direct firmware load failed
I do have a wired icon regardless of connection type. However, it is only the wired connection that actually works; disconnecting the cable does not change the icon, but does remove connectivity altogether (so there's a "wired-connection" icon even though networking is not working). It sounds like the file "brcmfmac43602-pcie.txt" is just missing from the kernel package, while it is expected to be present. Is that a reasonable deduction? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575321 Title: brcmfmac: Direct firmware load failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1575321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1575321] Re: brcmfmac: Direct firmware load failed
Cruz Fernandez, this report has nothing to do with bug #1594614. Your WiFi functionality works fine, while the original reporter has an issue with WiFi not working intermittently. Also, as is noticed in lspci.txt, you have a different subsystem of WiFi (among other hardware components), which would help account for the difference in behavior. ** Tags added: regression-release -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1575321 Title: brcmfmac: Direct firmware load failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1575321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed". Thanks in advance.
